NCAAB Pick

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Duke Blue Devils

Saturday, March 29, 2025 – 08:49 PM EDT at Prudential Center

Can Duke Stop Alabama?

The Alabama Crimson Tide went absolutely nuts against BYU in the Sweet 16. Alabama drained 25 threes and shot 49% from downtown in a 113-88 win. However, don’t expect the Crimson Tide to add 113 points and shoot nearly 50% from three on 50 three-point attempts in tonight’s game.

The Duke Blue Devils already rank first in the nation in defensive effective field goal percentage. Duke has limited teams to 31% from deep and 43.2% from inside the arc. In addition, the Blue Devils have held opponents to 26.9% from deep and a low FTA/FGA ratio. The defense is one of the best Alabama will play all season.

That said, Alabama has still drained 35.6% from deep and 60.1% from inside the arc. The Crimson Tide has also been very good at getting to the foul line and typically dominates the offensive glass. They’ll have some success, but the Crimson Tide will also be limited in many areas. That could hurt them in the long run.

Duke Must Limit Turnovers

The Duke Blue Devils have shot a 58.2% effective field goal percentage and have actually been more efficient than Alabama has been offensively throughout the season. Duke has the No. 1 rated offense, so ultimately, the Blue Devils can prevail against the Crimson Tide.

Duke has drained 38.5% from downtown and 58.6% from inside the arc. The Blue Devils are also better from the foul line and have added even more offensive rebounds per game than Alabama.

However, the most important part is that Alabama has added only 13.4% of turnovers per game. Duke rarely turns the ball over and should be able to have more possessions by using second-chance points on the glass and keeping turnovers down.

The Pick

Let’s take a chance with Duke at -6.5.
