Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders
Thursday, March 27, 2025 – 10:09 PM EDT at Chase Center
Arkansas Is Legitimate, But…
The Arkansas Razorbacks might be a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament. But they’re coached by John Calipari and have a roster that used $10 million dollars to construct.
Arkansas is just as talented as the other teams on the tournament field. It just took some time for the Razorbacks to connect and play at a high level.
The Razorbacks aren’t aggressive on the offensive glass. They’ve also been inconsistent from downtown. Those are two areas where Texas Tech has delivered defensively.
Texas Tech has limited teams to 31.9% from deep and has allowed only 28.2% of offensive rebounds. These numbers favor the Red Raiders.
Can Arkansas Keep It Close?
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have shot a 55.2% effective field goal percentage. They’ve done great limiting turnovers and have added 33.9% of offensive rebounds. The Red Raiders have also shot 37.1% from deep and 54.9% from inside the arc and are the much better offense heading into this game.
That said, Texas Tech gets to the foul line fewer times than Arkansas. Plus, Arkansas has limited teams to 31.6% from deep and 47.8% from inside the arc. Arkansas is easily the better defense in this matchup.
Ultimately, the Razorbacks have allowed just 29.4% of offensive rebounds and a super low FTA/FGA ratio.
Instead of picking a team to win, let’s rely on the defenses in this game.
