The Angels Can’t Hit Righties
The Los Angeles Angels have hit a .116 ISO and wOBA of .266 against righties over the last month using their projected lineup. Only Logan O’Hoppe, Nolan Schanuel, and Zach Neto have put up consistent numbers over the last 30 days against righties.
They’ll face Mitch Spence of the Athletics, who has limited teams to a .309 wOBA over the last month. Spence has been good this season and should silence the Angels for most of his start.
Tyler Anderson’s Dominance Against Righties
As a left-handed pitcher, Tyler Anderson has held righties to a .120 ISO and wOBA of .288 this entire season. He won’t rack up strikeouts and might walk a few batters, but he’s limited hard contact and isn’t allowing many line drives to righties.
Oakland will likely have a lineup filled with righties. But those righties have struck out 33.9% of the time against lefties over the last 30 days. Anderson’s strikeout rate could increase, and with his ability to limit hard contact, the Athletics likely won’t have much success tonight.
