It’s Hard To Hit Chris Sale!
The Atlanta Braves will send out ace pitcher Chris Sale for tonight’s game. Sale is a lefty pitcher who has held his last 99 batters to a .066 ISO and wOBA of .263. He’s also struck out 37.4% of batters in that time and has walked only 6.1%.
In Atlanta, Sale has resurrected his career. Now he’ll face an Angels lineup that I’ll have hit just a .115 ISO against lefties over the last month. Sale might not add a ton of strikeouts in tonight’s game, but it’s also unlikely he’ll give up a bunch of extra-base hits.
Griffin Canning’s Inconsistencies
The Angels will counter with Griffin Canning. He’s a righty who has watched his last 59 lefties hit a .220 ISO and woBA of .347. Worst of all, Canning has walked nearly 14% of lefties over the last month.
The Braves will only have three lefties in the lineup. But you can certainly rely on Matt Olson to provide power. Over the last month, he’s added a .299 ISO and wOBA of .368 against righties as a left-handed batter.
