Max Fried’s Do-Or-Die Start
The Braves will send out Max Fried. He’s a lefty pitcher, who has held his last 133 batters to a .081 ISO and wOBA of .255. Fried has also earned 65.5% of ground balls and has limited fly balls to 11.5%.
It’s likely he performs well against the Padres. However, San Diego rarely strikes out against lefties and will be patient at the plate.
Those intangibles could at least get the Padres on the board against Fried. Meanwhile, the bullpen for the Braves is depleted after Monday’s doubleheader. That favors the Padres, too.
High Strikeouts For Joe Musgrove
Joe Musgrove will take the hill for the Padres. He’s struck out 33% of batters over the last 30 days and will face seven batters who have struck out at least 17.1% of the time against righties in the last month.
The Atlanta lineup has been inconsistent against righties over the last 30 days, and it will likely stay that way against Musgrove tonight.
