Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

Saturday, May 11, 2024 – 08:30 PM ET at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse

The Cavaliers surprised the Celtics with a huge 24-point win in Game 2. With the series tied, the Cavaliers have the advantage, heading home for Game 3. Boston’s adjustments will likely start on the defensive end, according to our AI Model. The projected score is 109-103, Boston, meaning the total would go Under 212.5.

Boston Won’t Be Lackluster In Game 3

The last time Boston was as bad defensively as in Game 2, you’d have to go back to April 11 against the Knicks, when New York scored 124.2 points per 100 possessions.

In Game 2, the Cavaliers added 134.5 points per 100 possessions and shot a 65.2% effective field goal percentage. These numbers are super rare against Boston’s defense. It’s more of an effort thing defensively more than anything. That will surely be adjusted for Game 3.

Cleveland’s Not This Good Offensively

Let’s take it in the other direction. The last time the Cavaliers scored 134.5 points per 100 possessions was back on February 5, when they scored a 70.6% effective field goal percentage against the Kings in a 136-110 blowout win.

Cleveland played lights out in Game 2. And that game will stick out like a sore thumb.

The Pick

Based on our NBA odds, we’re about to get much more defense from both teams heading into a competitive and compelling Game 3.

NBA Pick: Under 212.5 (-110) at Bet365
