College Football Week 6 Computer Picks: Underdogs and Favorites Collide

We’re headed to Week 6 of the College Football season, and with the NCAAF odds shaping up, after a couple of monster games and a few huge upsets last week, this week will likely be just as hectic. I’ve looked at multiple top games of the week at top-rated sportsbooks and have decided on three of my favorite games that the AI Model also agrees with.

Washington and Michigan will play a rematch of last year’s National Championship. I didn’t bet that one, but it’ll be an intriguing matchup between two teams that have since dropped a bit after last year’s success.

That said, check out each play from the AI Model below and tail along if you’d like!

Picks Summary

  • Iowa +21 (-110)
  • South Carolina +8.5 (-110)
  • Clemson -13.5 (-115)

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

Saturday, October 05, 2024 – 03:30 PM ET at Ohio Stadium

Iowa Needs Some Love

The Iowa Hawkeyes have scored at least 31 points in three of its first four games this season. That was unheard of for many years. But Iowa’s offense has improved enough behind Cade McNamara at quarterback.

The offense has certainly made Iowa relevant.

Yet, they’re still three-touchdown underdogs on the road against Ohio State. After a 31-14 win over Minnesota on the road, it’s clear that Iowa is no slouch. Plus, Ohio State has started games slow to begin the season.

If you start slow against Iowa, you’re in for a rude awakening.

Ohio State’s First Real Test

The Buckeyes haven’t played any top-tier team to begin the season. While Iowa is a borderline top-tier team, they win and win a lot.

This will test Ohio State. After all, the Buckeyes have a new offensive picture with Walker Howard and Quinshon Judkins leading the way. We’ll see how they respond to Iowa’s tough defenses.

The Pick

I’ll back the Iowa Hawkeyes at +21. That’s way too many points for Iowa, knowing how dominant they’ve been defensively for a decade.

NCAAF Pick: Iowa +21 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Ole Miss Rebels vs. South Carolina Gamecocks

Saturday, October 5, 2024 – 03:30 PM ET at Williams-Brice Stadium

Down Goes Ole Miss!

The Ole Miss Rebels lost at home to Kentucky as the No. 6 team in the country. The Rebels could not find much offense against the Wildcats and missed a game-tying field goal as time expired.

Ole Miss looked really good through the first few weeks of the season, but they hadn’t been tested. It takes conference play to know where a team is at, and Ole Miss probably isn’t as good as its ranking shows.

South Carolina’s Got Some Rest

While Ole Miss took a beating from Kentucky, South Carolina got to watch the game from the couches. The Gamecocks will be much more rested after a bye week and will have a home game against an Ole Miss team that was overrated to start the season.

South Carolina added a 50-7 win against Akron the week before but choked away a massive lead against LSU before that. Still, the Gamecocks took it to Kentucky, which no team has really done this season.

The Pick

Give me South Carolina with the points at home.

NCAAF Pick: South Carolina +8.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Clemson Tigers vs. Florida State Seminoles

Saturday, October 05, 2024 – 07:30 PM ET at Doak Campbell Stadium

Clemson’s Rebound

The Clemson Tigers lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in Week 1, and many pressed the panic button. But since that game, Clemson has added dominant wins over Appalachian State, North Carolina State, and Stanford, scoring at least 40 points in all three games.

Cade Klubnik has thrown for 12 touchdowns and has only added two interceptions, while Phil Mafah has earned 343 yards rushing in four games.

Clemson’s defense was still a bit spotty at the beginning of the season, but the offense is making us forget about all that.

A Disaster Start for Florida State

Florida State fans should actually panic.

The Seminoles are 1-4 despite being an AP top-10 team entering the season. They have lost to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, and SMU and just one five-point win against California.

Florida State’s DJ Uiagalelei has thrown six interceptions to just four touchdowns this season. It’s all a matter of time until Florida State moves on to another quarterback.

The Pick

Grab Clemson at -13.5 (-115) while you can.

NCAAF Pick: Clemson -13.5 (-115) at Caesars Sportsbook
