Jayden Daniels Will Get Some Reps
The Washington Commanders are doing what the Chicago Bears didn’t. They’re giving Jayden Daniels some reps in his first start in an NFL uniform.
Daniels is already slated to be the starting quarterback in the regular season, but the Commanders will challenge him to prepare him even more for it. In practice, Daniels has split reps with Marcus Mariota. But Washington knows what they’ll get from Mariota. They’ll eventually settle on watching Jeff Driskel and Sam Hartman under center.
Remember, Hartman struggled more when he left North Carolina and went to Notre Dame.
The Adrian Martinez Game?
The Jets would’ve loved to see Jordan Travis in this game. However, the former FSU quarterback is still recovering from a season-ending injury last season. Therefore, we’ll likely see Andrew Peasley and Adrian Martinez in this game.
Martinez will surprise some folks. He’s already 24 years old and has plenty of experience from his time at Nebraska and Kansas State. He also developed a lot and should finish out this game for New York.
The Pick
It doesn’t matter how you start; it matters how you finish. I’d trust Martinez’s play-making ability over Hartman’s.
