The Dodgers will send out left-hander James Paxton to begin the series against Arizona. He’s got a 2-0 record with a 2.61 ERA to begin the year.
The Dodgers are really good at taking veteran starters and getting the full potential out of them.
It’s happening again with Paxton. Paxton has held his first 89 batters to a .111 ISO, despite high walks and low strikeouts. Paxton hasn’t been perfect, but that 19.1% walk rate can really only go down from here.
Arizona’s Cooked
On the other hand, the Diamondbacks will send out lefty Tommy Henry. Henry has allowed a .235 ISO and wOBA of .384 to his first 114 batters.
Tonight, he’ll have to face a dominant Dodgers lineup that has hit a .200 ISO and wOBA of .359 against lefties since last season.
