The AI Model believes the Dodgers will add a 4-3.5 win over the Padres with Clayton Kershaw on the mound. Tonight’s game should be low-scoring, giving the Dodgers a real chance at winning as underdogs tonight.
Dodgers Have a Fighting Chance
The Dodgers will face Dylan Cease, fresh off his no-hitter. But as the AI Model knows, it’s never a bad idea to fade a pitcher after a no-hitter. The pitcher can be fatigued sometimes or just be on such a high that they struggle the next outing.
After all, Los Angeles has still hit a .226 ISO against righties using the projected lineup over the last month. The Dodgers can still hit well.
Trust Clayton Kershaw?
Clayton Kershaw has only thrown to 20 batters since returning to the field. While the stats weren’t horrific, on paper, Kershaw wasn’t exactly elite analytically.
That said, the bottom portion of the Padres’ lineup has really struggled against lefties. This will allow Kershaw to work out of any jams he’s in throughout his likely five innings of work.
