Best Women’s World Cup Bets
USA vs. Vietnam
Friday, July 21, 2023 – 09:00 PM EDT at Eden Park
USA
In all eight Women’s World Cups to date, the USWNT has never failed to reach the semi-finals and are the current defending WC champions from 2019’s tournament.
However, concerns for the Stars and Stripes are more present than ever, as they faltered against Canada during the 2021 Olympics and lost three consecutive games versus European giants in 2022.
The US is still the favorite to sail through the World Cup 2023 group stage, and an unblemished record this year, alongside a 13-0 dismantling of Thailand, supports this sentiment.
Vietnam
Making their World Cup debut, Vietnam, unfortunately, faces the reigning WC titleholders. However, they can undoubtedly take confidence in recent results, overcoming Cambodia by four goals while preventing Germany and New Zealand from running riot with just two goals conceded in both meetings.
We don’t predict Vietnam to become a surprise outfit at this year’s tournament, and a 9-0 loss to Spain earlier this month is a huge concern. They will face the least intimidating USWNT in the last decade and can prevent a huge deficit in their opening group game.
Group E Prediction, Odds, & Trends
Top online sportsbooks naturally favor the USA, but the moneyline odds aren’t worth our time. The defending champions will take all three points, but recent tight margin losses against top-ranked teams Germany and New Zealand could indicate that Vietnam can stop a seven-goal deficit.
Score Prediction: USA 5 – Vietnam 0
Supporting Trends
- Vietnam has conceded 2 or fewer goals in 4 of their 5 games this year.
- USA has scored 7 or more goals in just 1 game this year.
Soccer Pick: Vietnam +6.5 (-105) at Bet365
France vs. Jamaica
Sunday, July 23, 2023 – 06:00 AM EDT at Sydney Football Stadium
France
There aren’t many squads boasting as much talent as the French women, and they’ll be confident as a World Cup winner after reaching the European Championship semi-final last year.
Following an unbeaten WC qualifying campaign, they’ll enter the competition under the tutelage of newly appointed manager Herve Renard. A coaching boost from a two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner with Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire could be France’s recipe to go all the way.
Jamaica
The Reggae Girlz made their World Cup debut in 2019, and although they suffered three consecutive defeats, they kept the final results within five or fewer goals for all of those meetings.
This squad will be out of their depth once again for the 2023 edition of the World Cup, but they aren’t a team known for faltering in high-numbered betting handicaps like the one currently attached to their Group F opening fixture against France.
Women’s World Cup Group F Prediction, Odds, & Trends
To no surprise, the women’s World Cup moneyline odds expect France to collect three points without a struggle. While it’s highly unlikely Les Bleues’ won’t achieve victory, the five-goal handicap seems achievable for Jamaica.
Jamaica has kept results with 5-goals in five consecutive games, while France hasn’t won by more than 5 goals in their last five meetings.
Score Prediction: France 3 – Jamaica 1
Supporting Trends
- Jamaica has covered a +5 handicap in 5 consecutive games.
- France hasn’t won by 5 goals or more in their previous 5 games.
Soccer Pick: Jamaica +3.5 (-105) at Bet365
