Florida State vs. Georgia Tech
Saturday, August 24, 2024 – 12:00 PM ET at Aviva Stadium
Florida State’s New Look Offense
The Florida State Seminoles had an insane season last year, only to end without a College Football Playoff berth.
The Seminoles finished the regular season undefeated and won the ACC. But due to Jordan Travis’ injury, the Seminoles didn’t get enough love.
This is a new season. Ultimately, many guys went to the NFL. Therefore, Florida State added a bunch of transfers to help make the transition easier.
Florida State added DJ Uiagalelei at quarterback. He’s a transfer from Clemson and Oregon State. Meanwhile, Alabama transfers Roydell Williams and Malik Benson should majorly impact the Seminoles this season.
The offensive line is filled with seniors, and the defense is always super well-coached. In the ACC, Florida State is, again, a threat to win the division. This time, they’d make the College Football Playoff if it won the ACC this season.
Transfers Who Aren’t Starting
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets added several transfers this season, which was needed after a 6-6 season last year.
However, per the depth chart, Georgia Tech is only starting four transfers of the 11 transfers. That’s a red flag for me.
It’s reasonable to believe Brent Key and his staff have coached up the former team to be better. But so has every other team. It’s hard to imagine Georgia Tech will improve much if they use the same guys from last season.
NCAAF COMPUTER PICK
The Seminoles were terrific last season and will be just as good again this year. They’ve started their season with wins against LSU in the last couple of years. Now they’ll take on Georgia Tech, which will be a much easier opponent.
Take Florida State at -11.
