Bruins Looking to Rebound
The series shifts from the TD Garden to Scotia Bank Arena on Wednesday night after the Bruins lost their home-ice advantage in a 3-2 setback to the perennial first-round chokers – the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boston goals by Morgan Geekie and David Pastrnak were countered by Toronto’s Max Domi, John Tavares and Auston Matthews.
Jeremy Swayman will likely be back between the pipes for the Bruins after winning the opening game of the series, 5-1, which should be a bonus for the B’s as Linus Ulmark looked merely serviceable in the Game 2 loss in which he stopped 31 of 34 shots.

The Bruins had defeated the Leafs in eight consecutive meetings before Monday night’s loss and the memories of getting ousted in the opening round of last year’s playoffs by the Panthers are undoubtedly bubbling to the surface. This alone should be motivation for the Bruins to come out swinging.
Moreover, Toronto’s goalie, Ilya Samsonov, has had 16 games this season in which he has allowed 4 goals or more including Saturday’s 5-1 Game 1 loss. He was exceptional in his last outing but he’s not the same brick wall he was during the 2023 regular season and ended this year with a 3.13 goals against average and a dismal .890 save percentage.
I suspect Samsonov will revert to form in Game 3 against the high-flying Bruins’ offense. Bet the B’s and cash a ticket.
