Robbie Ray Isn’t All That
While the Mariners have struggled with lefties, there’s still hope tonight. The Mariners are facing Robbie Ray of the Giants, a left-handed pitcher allowing a .256 ISO and wOBA of .358 to his last 97 batters.
Ray has allowed 36.5% of fly balls and has earned just 28.8% of ground balls. He’s also allowed 55.8% of hard contact and has walked 10.3% of batters.
The Mariners can come in with a game plan to earn some runs against Ray. They must work the count and take advantage of Ray’s mistakes.
Fewer Strikeouts For San Francisco
The Giants have struck out 29% of the time against righties over the last 30 days. But at least the Giants have four righties in the lineup.
They’ll take on Bryan Woo, who has struck out only 15.8% of righties over the last month. Woo has done well limiting damage against both sides of the plate, but if the Giants can put the ball in play, some good things will happen.
