David Peterson’s Underrated Season
The Mets will throw David Peterson. He’s a lefty who doesn’t get enough love. After all, he’s faced 335 batters this season and has held those hitters to a .120 ISO with 53.9% of ground balls induced.
Ultimately, over the last month, he’s held his previous 121 batters to a .263 wOBA.
He’ll take on a Padres lineup that doesn’t strike out. However, the projected lineup has only hit a .175 ISO and wOBA of .316. These are average numbers at best.
Michael King’s Dominance
The Padres will counter with Michael King. King has been just as good as Peterson, if not better. He’s held his last 95 batters to a .070 ISO and wOBA of .264 with 33.7% of strikeouts.
The Mets will strike out at a high rate against King. However, they had a solid plan against Dylan Cease in Game 1 and could bring that same game plan against King in Game 3.
