Another Start For Paul Blackburn
New York acquired Paul Blackburn at the MLB Trade Deadline for depth in the rotation. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .175 ISO and a wOBA of .350. Over the last month, he’s allowed plenty of fly balls. However, this season, he’s been much more of a ground ball pitcher.
New York is totally working on earning more ground balls with Blackburn. It’ll come.
New York’s Offense Has Started To Decline
For a couple of months, the Mets were the hottest offense in the MLB. It’s not like that anymore.
The Mets have struck out nearly 25% of the time against righties in the last month. They’ve also hit average numbers against righties, like a .172 ISO and wOBA of .328 over the past 30 days.
Don’t expect a ton of offense from the Mets against Ryan Feltner. Feltner is typically good against lefties and limits walks against righties, which will limit the damage.
