Our AI Model believes the Phillies will earn a 5-2.6 win over the Rockies at home tonight. Meanwhile, you can find the Phillies at -1.5 (-140) on the run line. That would hit if this projected scenario plays out.
Should We Trust Kyle Freeland?
Kyle Freeland was tremendous in his season debut for the Rockies. He threw 35% strikeouts and no walks against 20 batters. However, look at last season’s numbers. The lefty allowed a .211 ISO and wOBA of .356 to 492 batters. That’s likely what’s in store for him this year. Don’t get so excited over one start.
Ultimately, the Phillies have five batters with a high ISO against lefties dating back to last season. Those five should take advantage.
Zack Wheeler Is More Trustworthy
Zack Wheeler, like Freeland, had an insane start to the season. Wheeler struck out 40% of batters and held those 20 batters to a .218 wOBA with 50% of walks.
Wheeler has a track record of success. This kind of outing is much more likely from Wheeler. Plus, the Rockies’ projected lineup has struck out 28.2% of the time against righties dating back to last season.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. New York Yankees

The AI Model projects the Diamondbacks will add a 4.6-4 win over the Yankees on the road. Arizona is +115 on the moneyline and would cash in at an underdog price with a win tonight.
Will Zac Gallen Be Fine?
Zac Gallen will take the mound for the Diamondbacks. The right-hander struggled in his season debut, allowing a .235 ISO and wOBA of .377 against 21 batters. Still, last season, he struck out 25.1% of batters and held teams to a .139 ISO and wOBA of .304. He was fantastic last season, so I’d expect the same from him this year.
Plus, the Yankees’ projected lineup has struck out 23.3% of the time dating back to last season against righties. Gallen should get back on track.
Rodon Is Hard To Predict!
The Yankees will ride it out with Carlos Rodon. The left-hander allowed a .204 ISO and wOBA of .327 to 815 batters last season. He was below-average against righties, despite a high strikeout rate.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks have a lineup filled with righties that have hit a .368 wOBA against lefties dating back to last season. Arizona is also very aggressive at the plate and doesn’t strike out often against lefties. If the Diamondbacks get the ball in play against Rodon, they’ll be in good shape.

Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

The AI Model predicts the Braves and Dodgers will combine for 8.7 runs. However, the total is currently at 8. The Over is the best play in this game.
Bryce Elder Will Take The Hill!
The Braves will roll with Bryce Elder tonight. The right-hander allowed a .180 ISO and wOBA of .375 to 226 batters last season. Ultimately, he’ll make his first start this season, and it won’t be easy.
The Dodgers have socked a .204 ISO and wOBA of .335 against righties dating back to last season. The projected lineup has also walked over 9% of the time and has struck out below 22.5% of the time.
Don’t expect Elder to escape this game unscathed.
The Braves Should Hit Lefties!
The Braves are 0-6 and have had the worst start imaginable this year. That said, they’re facing Blake Snell of the Dodgers and should at least have some success. Snell is a high-strikeout pitcher and one of the best lefties in the game.
However, the Braves, dating back to last year, have hit a .178 ISO and wOBA of .329 with their projected lineup. There’s reason to believe the Braves can hit for some power and add some runs on the board in tonight’s game.
The Pick
The Dodgers will do the most damage but the Braves should chip in. Take the Over 8.
