Iowa State Cyclones vs. Arizona State Sun Devils

Saturday, December 07, 2024 – 12:00 PM ET at AT&T Stadium

A Five-Game Winning Streak For Arizona State

The Arizona State Sun Devils have added five consecutive wins. They’ve earned massive wins against BYU and Kansas State. They also escaped UCF and knocked off Utah earlier in the year.

You can argue that Arizona State hasn’t played tough competition. The expectations for Arizona State were never to win ten games in the regular season. This team has a great running back in Cam Skattebo and they’re playing quality football with Sam Leavitt under center as a freshman.

The sky is the limit for this team.

Can’t Trust Rocco Becht

In a win against Kansas State, Iowa State’s Rocco Becht completed 37.1% of his passes. He’s now completing below 60% of passes this season. That’s just not good enough for a championship-caliber team.

Becht also has eight interceptions on the year and will take on the usually solid Arizona State secondary.

The Pick

I’ll test my luck with Arizona State. It would be a remarkable story to see Kenny Dillingham win the Big 12 Championship in Year 1 of the Big 12.

NCAAF Pick: Arizona State -1.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Texas Longhorns

Saturday, December 07, 2024 – 04:00 PM ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Can Georgia Beat Texas Again?

The Georgia Bulldogs added a 30-15 win over the Texas Longhorns earlier this season. Texas had more first downs in that game, but Georgia added more yards. Still, both teams rushed for a total of 300 yards in the game. Texas rushed for just 29 yards and Georgia threw for just 175. Ultimately, there were seven turnovers in that game.

Since that game, Georgia has struggled against Florida, lost to Ole Miss, knocked off Tennessee, defeated Massachusetts despite being allowed 21 points and needed eight overtimes to beat Georgia Tech. Georgia doesn’t look so good right now.

On the other hand, Texas hasn’t lost since that Georgia game, with wins against Texas A&M, Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida and Vanderbilt. Texas destroyed Florida when Georgia needed a fourth-quarter escape.

Georgia’s Defense Isn’t What It Used To Be!

Georgia has a great defense. However, it used to be elite. Now, the secondary and pass rush have been just above average, and the tackling hasn’t been as crisp as in recent years.

Meanwhile, Carson Beck has thrown 12 interceptions and really doesn’t play consistently for Georgia. The Bulldogs had multiple games where they were trailing and needed to come back. That’s not a recipe for success.

The Pick

I’m grabbing Texas at -2.

NCAAF Pick: Texas -2 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Oregon Ducks

Saturday, December 07, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at Lucas Oil Stadium

Penn State Gets Its Chance

The Penn State Nittany Lions will play in the Big Ten Championship game after Michigan defeated Ohio State last week. Penn State typically struggles against Ohio State and Michigan, which is why we rarely see it in this big game. But now they’ve got a chance.

The Nittany Lions finished the regular season with a 44-7 win over Maryland. They ran up the score a little bit, but that was only to improve their chances of qualifying for the College Football Playoff in case of a loss against Oregon this weekend.

Drew Allar has been fantastic for Penn State this season. He’s added 18 passing touchdowns and only five interceptions on the season. He’s also backed by one of the best running-back duos in the nation.

Stopping Oregon Won’t Be Easy

Penn State has allowed fewer points than Oregon and has a better run defense. Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel was in the Heisman talks for a while, and Jordan James has 13 rushing touchdowns.

However, running the ball against Penn State hasn’t been easy this season.

The Pick

This game will turn into a defensive battle really quickly. I like Penn State’s ability to run the ball more. They’re deeper in the position and can keep guys fresh. Give me Penn State.

NCAAF Pick: Penn State +3.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook
