Washington Commanders vs. Baltimore Ravens

Sunday, October 13, 2024 – 01:00 PM ET at M&T Bank Stadium

The Commanders Can’t Be Stopped

The Washington Commanders have won four consecutive games behind Jayden Daniels at quarterback. Daniels and the Commanders have scored at least 34 points in three straight games, including two road games against the Bengals and Cardinals. The most recent win came against the Cleveland Browns, where the Commanders added a 34-13 win.

Daniels and the offense played so well that he sat in the fourth quarter with a huge lead.

Ultimately, the Ravens have allowed at least 20 points in all but one game this season. Washington will likely take advantage of a weak Ravens defense despite being on the road.

Daniels has already accounted for eight touchdowns and plays just like Lamar Jackson. It’ll be a fun showdown to see him against Jackson in this week’s matchup.

The Ravens Keep Playing In High Scoring Games

The Baltimore Ravens have had totals of 47, 49, 53, 45 and 79. The offense is playing very well, but the defense has struggled to find consistency.

Don’t expect Baltimore to turn around the defense against this high-octane Washington offense. However, you should at least expect the Ravens to find success against a Washington defense that is still weak in the secondary and other areas of defense.

The Pick

I wouldn’t be surprised to see both teams add at least four touchdowns in this one.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos

Sunday, October 13, 2024 – 04:05 PM ET at Empower Field at Mile High

Chargers Playing Too Conservative

The Los Angeles Chargers are playing the Jim Harbaugh way. It’s defense first. However, that approach is likely limiting Herbert’s ability to be a stud quarterback.

We’ve seen Herbert have some monster games in his career. Yet, Herbert has only thrown for 578 yards in four games. He’s yet to even add more than 180 yards passing in any game. At some point, the Chargers have to let Herbert do his thing. However, it’s unlikely against a fierce Broncos defense this weekend.

Three-Game Winning Streak

The Broncos have built a contender. The defense is playing as dominantly as ever, and the offense is starting to come together behind Bo Nix.

Nix is making good reads, limiting turnovers and having the guys believe. However, with this Denver defense, you will win most games if you can limit mistakes.

Ultimately, Denver’s play-calling has been excellent on offense. Week by week, they’re allowing Nix to showcase his ability a little more. He’s becoming a star, and his extensive college experience led him to start Week 1.

The Pick

Consider the Broncos at +122 at home as they go for win No. 4.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers

Sunday, October 13, 2024 – 04:25 PM ET at Lumen Field

Atlanta’s Finding Rhythm

The Atlanta Falcons are on a two-game winning streak and are 3-2 on the season. The Falcons earned back-to-back games against divisional rivals and will now take on a 1-4 Carolina Panthers team.

Kirk Cousins is coming off a 500+ yard performance passing the rock against the Buccaneers and likely won’t have any issues throwing the ball against a Carolina team that just allowed 36 points to Caleb Williams and the Bears.

The Bears had been struggling offensively all season until they faced the Panthers.

It Doesn’t Matter Who Starts

Andy Dalton is clearly a better quarterback than Bryce Young at this time. However, it doesn’t matter who the quarterback is if the defense will continue to play like this. Carolina’s secondary is terrible. The pass rush is ineffective, and the run defense continues to give up big plays after big plays.

This team has allowed at least 34 points in three of its first five games, and it’s not going to get any easier against a Falcons offense that is clearly improving week after week under Cousins.

The Pick

Let’s back the Falcons at -5.5 in this one.
