NFL Week 8 Computer Picks: Commanders in Command

After lots of chaos through the first six weeks of the season, there haven’t been wild upsets over the last two weeks. Those upsets and chaos will eventually come back. Therefore, we looked to the AI Model for some pointers with Week 8’s NFL slate. Here are three NFL best bets to consider at the top-rated sportsbooks.

And don’t forget to check out our YouTube channel for more betting advice. For this week, our expert analyzed the Jets vs. Patriots and Colts vs. Texans matchups!

Picks Summary

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns

Sunday, October 27, 2024 – 01:00 PM ET at Huntington Bank Field

The AI Model believes the Baltimore Ravens will earn a 26-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. The Browns officially lost Deshaun Watson for the season due to an Achilles injury. The 1-6 Browns are already looking on to next year. Therefore, they’re 9.5-point underdogs at home. With the AI Model projecting a 13-point win, the Ravens against the spread is the way to go.

No More Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson’s season is over after he tore his Achilles against the Bengals last week. Watson wasn’t much of a threat for the Browns. However, it comes poorly after Nick Chubb’s return earlier this week.

Jameis Winston could be the better quarterback fit for the Browns. But at 1-6, the Browns could look to develop Dorian Thompson-Robinson to close out the season as they look for a top pick in the Draft.

The season is practically over for the Browns.

Browns Can’t Outscore The Ravens

When writing this, the Ravens haven’t played against the Buccaneers yet. They’ll play on one of the two Monday Night Football games.

That said, the Ravens have already become one of the best offenses in the NFL. They’re explosive, with plenty of playmakers and the former MVP under center. The Ravens need to improve defensively, but there’s a minimal chance the Browns can out-score the Ravens this week.

The Pick

We’ll take the Ravens at -9.5 per our AI Model.

NFL Pick: Ravens -9.5 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders

Sunday, October 27, 2024 – 04:25 PM ET at Northwest Stadium

The AI Model suggests the Commanders will defeat the Bears 24-21. Washington is -105 despite no updates on whether Jayden Daniels will start at quarterback. Daniels was knocked out of last week’s game and never returned, but Marcus Mariota looked serviceable behind Daniels. At -105, the Commanders have the value in this game.

Chicago’s Still 0-2 On The Road

The Chicago Bears have added three consecutive wins against the Rams, Panthers, and Jaguars.

That’s just not saying much. These are three teams that won’t be seeing the playoffs. While we’ve seen good things from Caleb Williams, I’m not sold. Williams still has five interceptions through six games, and the team scored no more than 16 points on the road this season.

Daniels or Mariota?

It’s unclear if Jayden Daniels will play against the Bears this weekend due to a rib injury. We’ll know more later this week. But after Mariota led the Commanders to a dominating win last week against the Panthers, it’s clear that he or Daniels can run the offense to perfection.

Chicago is great in the secondary but has had trouble stopping the run at times. If the Commanders continue to open up running lanes and commit to running the football regardless of the quarterback, they’ll win this game.

The Pick

Stick with the AI Model and grab the Commanders at -105.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, October 27, 2024 – 04:25 PM ET at Allegiant Stadium

Our AI Model has the Chiefs adding a 26-13 win over the Raiders this weekend. Kansas City just lost Aiden O’Connell to a potential broken thumb, leaving Gardner Minshew at quarterback against the Chiefs. That said, the Chiefs are just 10-point favorites but are expected to win by 13. The play is on the Chiefs here.

Back To Gardner Minshew

The Las Vegas Raiders decided to bench Gardner Minshew earlier this season for Aidan O’Connell. However, in Week 7, O’Connell injured his thumb on his throwing hand and will likely miss some time under center.

Now, the Raiders are back with Minshew under center. The last time he was quarterback, Davante Adams was running routes. But now he doesn’t have Adams, and there are still questionable tags on Jakobi Meyers. The Raiders are extremely weak on offense outside of Brock Bowers and Alexander Mattison and can’t sustain drives.

That said, Kansas City’s pass rush is among the best in the NFL. Minshew won’t be able to escape it and should be forced to make some mistakes.

The Undefeated Chiefs

Ultimately, the Chiefs haven’t played well throughout the season. But they’re still undefeated and took down the 49ers on the road last week.

Patrick Mahomes continues to play subpar football but has done enough for the Chiefs to win games. Last week, against the 49ers, he threw no touchdowns, two interceptions and only completed 16-of-27 for 154 yards. He hasn’t been good. But against a Raiders secondary that is probably the worst in the league, my confidence in Mahomes is higher than it has been all year.

The Pick

Take the Chiefs -10. This will be a “breakout” game for Mahomes.

NFL Pick: Chiefs -10 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook
