Monday AI Computer Pick
- Kraken-Stars Under 5.5 (+105)
Using our OddsTrader NHL computer picks we were able to place tonight’s bets based on the information generated.
The Dallas Stars blew their chance of advancing into the Western Conference finals last time out with a 6-3 loss to the Seattle Kraken on the road.
Having gone 8-2 in their previous 10 home games and having not lost on home ice during regulation in 10/10 they will be confident they can advance tonight in this elimination matchup.
Seattle Kraken vs. Dallas Stars
Monday, May 15, 2023 – 08:00 PM EDT at American Airlines Center
All or Nothing for Seattle Kraken
Who would have guessed towards the end of last season the Seattle Kraken would bounce back from a 2nd last-place finish in the Western Conference to now being just one victory away from making the Western Conference finals where they would ironically face the second-youngest franchise in NHL the Vegas Golden Knights.
The depth within the Seattle Kraken team is something to admire as they have zero star players amongst them and have now seen eight different players scoring multiple goals during this year’s playoffs.
With Jared McCann back in the line-up having missed six straight games they will at least have their top points-per-game scorer available.
Seattle most likely can’t rely on Grubauer to see them through this one as his stats don’t look the best right now having allowed 3.78 goals against and a very below-par 86 save percentage and has had just an 89% save percentage in his previous 32 games.
Stars Have Home Ice Advantage
Having now seen the series tied up at 3-3 following the Stars’ 6-3 road loss last time out they head for home ice with the prospect of playing in front of their own fans to win their 9th home game from their previous 12 on home ice.
The Stars last made the Stanley Cup finals back in 2020 so they have plenty of post-season experience and should get the job finished tonight on home ice unless this Kraken team can spring another post-season shock having already sent the previous champions the Colorado Avalanche packing in round one.
With so much on the line we wouldn’t be surprised to see Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger have his 2nd post-season shutout of the season and his 10th NHL career shutout.

The Pick
Don’t get things twisted here, we know the stats and trends are against us, but it’s worth noting not all picks have to be down to the stats and trends, our computer has precited only five goals will be scored in this series finale and we like the fact we are getting some plus money here.
If you’re feeling conservative given the fact these teams do average over 7 goals per game in their recent head-to-head matchups you could look to take under 6.0 goals for a -120 push if the game ends on exactly six goals.
It’s the series finale, and although both teams have seen the Over hit in all but two of their twelve lifetimes matchups to date and the Under 5.5 goals has never cashed in this game, we believe it could be a cagey affair tonight and the Under total is the best approach to this final second round NHL game.
