The Predators are clearly starting fresh as they offloaded four players this window and come into this game minus Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen through injury.
It will be interesting to see how this team shapes up going forward having gone 9-6 in their previous 15 games and sitting 5th in the Central Division.
The Predators are a strange team. We never trust them to win, yet they are better than 10/11 teams in the NHL. Despite having allowed a somewhat respectable 2.93 goals per game (although not great), they have suffered offensively having only scored 2.86 goals per game and sitting on -2.5 units if betting them on the moneyline this season.
Panthers Have Been Bad
If you think the Predators’ -2.5 units were a bit below par, the Florida Panthers have been shockingly bad as they are currently -11.6 units thus far this season on the moneyline.
Matthew Tkachuk has been sensational for the losing team despite scoring 79 points in 59 games. Although the Panthers score the 7th most goals per game with 3.42, they have scored and conceded 214 goals in total.
It’s hardly ironic that the Panthers have allowed and scored the same number of goals and have lost just two more than they won.

Our Computer believes the Predators’ loss of attacking power having already a very poor outfit will be their demise tonight with a 4-2 victory predicted for the Florida Panthers.

The Blues Have Been Feeling Blue
It might be a cheesy headline but it’s true. Since the trade of Vladimir Tarasenko and Ryan O’Reilly, the Blues have been poor and are currently on a 0-6 run.
The Blues have been in rebuild mode and things have only gotten worse since as they have slipped into the 4th worst teams in the NHL in terms of goals allowed; they now sit on 3.65 per game. The Blues won’t be making the playoffs this season and eagerly await the draft and next season.
Sharks Lose Meier
Although the San Jose Sharks are on a rebuild themselves, they have given up one of their best players in Timo Meier this midweek to the New Jersey Devils.
This was a big trade that saw the Sharks acquire four players and three draft picks, whilst the Devils not only received Meier but also three other players as well as one draft pick.
Meier will be a big loss to this Sharks team as he had 52 points in 57 games and was their second-highest points scorer and highest shot-taker at the time of departure.
The Sharks are joint last with the Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division.
The Pick
Imagine the San Jose Sharks are sitting at -18 units when betting them on the moneyline this season, and as bad as the Blues have been, they are only -4 units.
However, we are staying away from the game-winner here. Our computer predicts a low-scoring affair as both these teams are without some of their better forwards these days.
