Joe Musgrove Expected To Turn Things Around
The Milwaukee Brewers have started the season 10-4, while the Padres are 9-9. San Diego has played more games than the Brewers to begin the season, thanks to better weather and an early start in Korea against the Dodgers.
That said, the Padres still have fewer wins than the Brewers after playing five more matchups.
For How Long?
Don’t expect that to last. The Padres have Joe Musgrove on the mound tonight. He’s already held teams to a .119 ISO and has allowed just 22.7% of fly balls. Musgrove’s strikeout numbers are down, but they should rise again against the Brewers, who have five targets with high strikeouts against righties since last season.
Conversely, Joe Ross will take the hill for the Brewers. While he’s added 57.1% of ground balls, he’s also earned just 22.7% of strikeouts and has walked 13.6% of batters.
