The San Diego Padres will give Michael King the ball tonight. The young right-hander has held his last 97 batters to a .101 ISO and wOBA of .286 with more than 52% of ground balls and only 18.5% of fly balls allowed.
He’ll take on a difficult Dodgers lineup that has added a .216 ISO and wOBA of .376, but it’s more likely he has a better game than Los Angeles’ starter, Landon Knack.
Why Knack Could Get Blown Up
The Dodgers will roll with Landon Knack, as stated above. Knack is also a young righty, but he’s struggled significantly against other righties. Over the last 30 days, Knack has allowed a .273 ISO and wOBA of .429 to his previous 25 righties.
The Padres have Fernando Tatis, Manny Machado, Jurickson Profar, and other righties that should take advantage of Knack’s inability to get ahead of counts against righties.
