Procore Championship

September 12 – 15, 2024 at Silverado Resort and Spa

FedEx Fall Series Explainer

The FedEx fall Series is a continuation of the 2024 season and will provide the final cut-off for the top 125 players who will gain playing privileges for next year. The other incentive is for any players making the top 60 who were not already ranked in the top 50 at the end of the BMW Championship a couple of weeks ago, which enables entry into all the big-money events of 2025.

The Silverado Country Club

The North Course at the Silverado Country Club is an easy introduction to the fall series for the PGA Tour pros this week.

Set at a par 72 for 7166 yards means the course is short by modern-day standards and its Bentgrass/Poa Annua greens are something of an acquired taste. The track provides a strategic test of play tee-to-green, and the winning score will be approximately 20-under par given there is a settled forecast for California.

Will It Be Theegala at The Double?

Readers and followers will remember that a year ago we bet Sahith Theegala to win the Procore Championship, and he duly obliged at +2000.

Can Sahith Repeat the Feat in 2024?

Trends mean little or nothing when looking into golf form, so it was unusual to see that defending champions is a theme here, as Max Homa defended his Procore title in 2022 and Brendan Steele did the same in 2017. Therefore, Sahith Theegala winning and defending his crown would be nothing unusual in Napa at the Silverado Country Club.

The twenty-six-year-old arrives in his home state event in better form than last year having given it a great run at the Tour Championship two weeks ago where he finished close to winning despite calling a two-shot penalty on himself.

It is probably a blessing in disguise that Theegala was able to take last week off after the grueling schedule of the FedEx Cup, and with his integrity intact, the twenty-six-year-old looks a solid favorite this week to make that good karma pay

Last year he was just below the top of the market and therefore his price this year as a favorite is fair given Theegala has everything in his favor.

We suggest adding Sahith Theegala to your betting perm as he attempts to do the double back-to-back Procore Championships

Can Maverick Mc Nealy Finally Fly Top Gun on The PGA Tour?

Yes, we believe there are reasons that Maverick McNealy can finally win on the PGA Tour this week.

In 2021 he was an impressive runner-up here in Napa, which is no surprise given the twenty-eight-year-old is very comfortable on the track in his home state.

Last season was a comeback one for McNealy, having been injured for much of 2022 and 2023. He certainly found his feet again on the PGA Tour and re-established himself as a competitor. In fact, his last start was 12th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship to just miss out on a BMW Championship berth for the top 50 in the FedEx Cup.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on a coveted top 50 finish and entries into all next year’s big events, he admitted being proud of his season, saying he “had never given a year a better effort”.

Indeed, McNealy had a putt on the 72nd hole to make the top 50 but there was much to be happy about with his year given he had started with limited starts on a medical exemption.

Currently ranked at #53, McNealy has another opportunity and the perfect foundations to take a top 10 finish in the rankings after the upcoming series if he can keep that good form rolling.

We suggest backing Maverick McNealy in this week’s Procore Championship with Bet365.
