The regular season is quickly coming to a close in the MLB. Today and tomorrow remain, and then it’s time for the playoffs. With that in mind, let’s continue to ask the AI Model for its best plays of the day. Here’s one of three bets the AI Model loves for September 28, with the best MLB odds available.

The AI Model suggests the Rangers and Angels will score just 8.1 runs in tonight’s ball game. With the total at 8.5 via Caesars, the Under is the most appealing play for this game.

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels

Saturday, September 28, 2024 – 09:38 PM ET at Angel Stadium

Los Angeles Can’t Hit Lefties

The Los Angeles Angels have really struggled to hit lefties over the last 30 days. The projected lineup has hit a .024 ISO and wOBA of .182 with 24.2% of strikeouts and only 7.9% of walks.

It’s laughable.

Tonight, they’ll get a taste of Andrew Heaney, who has struck out nearly 25% of batters over the last month. He’s also limited walks to 4.3% and has limited his last 93 batters to a wOBA of .307.

The Angels won’t score much, if at all.

Trusting Griffin Canning

The Angels will throw Griffin Canning. The right-hander has had an up-and-down year. However, with a matchup against the Rangers, he should at least finish the year with a good start.

Canning is facing a Rangers lineup that has combined to hit a .136 ISO and wOBA of .293 against righties over the last month. The lineup has also struck out more than 23% of the time against righties and has only walked 7.5% of the time.

MLB Computer Pick

Neither offense has been hot over the last 30 days. That’s why neither will make the playoffs. Take the Under 8.5.
