Nathan Eovaldi will start for the Rangers. While he’s been far from excellent, Eovaldi is a veteran pitcher with no pressure on his shoulders in tonight’s start.
Eovaldi has still struck out 26% of batters over the last 30 days and has limited walks to 8%. He’s been hit hard and has allowed a high fly ball and line drive percentage. However, it’s unlikely the Athletics will make much contact.
The projected lineup has struck out 22.2% of the time and has five batters with an above-average strikeout rate.
Rangers Have Enough Lefites
The Rangers will have five lefties in the lineup tonight. Those lefties haven’t been consistently hitting the ball. But that could change tonight with a matchup against Mitch Spence.
Spence is a righty for the Athletics, who has allowed a .255 ISO and wOBA of .439 to his last 55 lefties. He’s also given up more than 60% of hard contact and has allowed an 11.6% barrel percentage.
Texas has enough lefties in the lineup to do damage.
