The AI Model suggests the Yankees and Red Sox will tie at 4.2-4.2. Obviously, no game can finish in a tie, but with the Red Sox at +130, there’s serious value on the Red Sox to pull off an upset.
Don’t Sleeper On Kutter Crawford
The Red Sox will pitch righty Kutter Crawford. He’s struck out more than 32% of batters over the last 30 days and has limited walks to 4.2%.
While his ISO numbers are getting high, Crawford still holds his last 95 batters to a wOBA of .306. Even when he’s allowing power, it’s not always when guys are on base.
Plus, the bottom portion of the New York lineup has been quiet against righties over the last 30 days.
How Is Gil The Favorite?
On the other hand, the Yankees will pitch Luis Gil, who has allowed a .265 ISO and wOBA of .415 to his last 102 batters. Gil was terrific earlier in the season but has since fallen apart.
With Boston’s projected lineup hitting a .175 ISO and woBA of .340, the Red Sox look much better on paper for tonight’s game.
