Colorado’s Struggles Against Lefties Continue
Yesterday, Ranger Suarez, a lefty, pitched a complete game against the Colorado Rockies in a 5-0 shutout win. Tonight, the Rockies are facing another Philadelphia lefty. That can’t be good.
Since last season, the Rockies’ projected lineup has hit a .143 ISO and wOBA of .276 with 29.4% of strikeouts. It’s no wonder why Suarez dominated in that matchup.
We can expect the same with Cristopher Sanchez on the hill for the Phillies. He’s another left-handed thrower who has held opponents to a .066 ISO and woBA of .289 with 60.9% of ground balls induced.
He’ll go up against Ryan Feltner of the Rockies. Feltner has seen his strikeout rate increase and has limited walks much better compared to last year. But we’ll see if he’s able to sustain this type of success. His stats are way different from last season, and he’ll now face a Phillies lineup with six hitters slugging a .174 ISO or better.
I’m way more comfortable backing the Phillies at -1.5 and -105 betting odds in this one.
