Phoenix’s Adjustments
The Suns had no problem defeating the Timberwolves and limiting Anthony Edwards in the regular season. However, when the playoffs came around, the Suns really struggled against Minnesota and ultimately lost 120-95.
Prior to that playoff game against the Timberwolves, the Suns held their previous seven opponents to no more than 115.5 points per 100 possessions. The defense is typically good, and the defensive rebounding is ultimately better than what they showed against the Timberwolves.
If the Suns can limit offensive rebounds and ultimately play better defense, the Suns will have a chance to win. But it totally starts with the defense.
Don’t Expect 39.5% of Offensive Rebounds From Minnesota
The Timberwolves have some major talent at the forward and center positions. However, they hadn’t added 39.5% of offensive rebounds since March 12 against the Clippers. It’s super rare and extremely hard to do. So, after the Timberwolves nailed this feat in Game 1, don’t expect that to happen in Game 2, especially against a Suns team that is typically good on the defensive glass.

With fewer second chances and overall better defense, the Under is certainly the play in this Game 2 matchup.
