I won’t suggest a perfect game from Tarik Skubal. But he might come close. The Athletics have hit a .089 ISO and wOBA of .246 against lefties over the last 30 days.
On the other hand, the left-handed Skubal has held his last 121 batters to a .080 ISO and wOBA of .236 with 32.2% of strikeouts. Skubal and the Tigers should be able to shut down this weak Athletics offense.
Detroit Has Potential
While the Tigers have still struck out 25.9% of the time using the projected lineup against righties, they still have some power potential.
They’re facing Mitch Spence of the Athletics, who has allowed a .176 ISO and wOBA of .358 to his last 114 batters. Even if the Tigers scratch out a couple of runs, that should be enough with Skubal on the mound.
Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter are two lefties who have crushed righties over the last month. Rely on them to help the Tigers earn the win.
