In the NBA Conference Finals, the Dallas Mavericks lead 2-0 in their series.

Before heading to our top-rated sportsbooks, we asked the AI Computer Model to help us pick a bet for Game 3. Here’s what it likes in the Timberwolves-Mavericks matchup.

NBA Pick

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks

Sunday, May 26, 2024 – 08:00 PM ET at American Airlines Center

According to our AI Model, the Mavericks are projected to defeat the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs, 105-102. At Bet365, Dallas is -155 on the moneyline. With a projected three-point win, the value is on Dallas in Game 3 of the series.

Dallas Can Close Out Minnesota At Home!

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost both home games to begin the Western Conference Finals. That means the Mavericks can win the next two games at home and close out the series in front of their fans.

I won’t get ahead of myself. However, the Mavericks just held the Timberwolves to a 48.2% effective field goal percentage and limited Minnesota to 114.9 points per 100 possessions, despite a high volume of fouls.

Typically, the Mavericks don’t foul at such a high rate. At home, I’d expect the fouls to be fewer.

How Can Minnesota Win?

The Minnesota Timberwolves only allowed 25% of offensive rebounds and gave just an 18.1 free throw rate. However, that wasn’t enough to beat the Mavericks.

Minnesota kept turnovers down to 9.6%. They also had a free throw rate of 30.6 and added 30.8% of offensive rebounds. Yet, it wasn’t good enough because Minnesota struggled from the field.

Without Naz Reid, the sixth man, the Timberwolves would’ve been long out of Game 2. Anthony Edwards has struggled from the floor, and Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t had much success either.

Now, those guys are headed out on the road, where the environment will be much more hostile. Minnesota missed their chances in Game 1 and 2 and will be drained by Game 3.

The Pick

I’m with the AI Model. I like the Mavericks to stay hot at home and win straight up.

NBA Pick: Mavericks ML (-155) at Bet365
