Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – 10:00 PM EDT at Crypto.com Arena
Anthony Davis (Los Angeles Lakers)
- Over 25.5 Points Scored
The Los Angeles Lakers will attempt to solidify their spot in the playoffs when they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.
In the final game of the season, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 113-108. However, the Timberwolves lost two key players in that game when Jaden McDaniels broke his hand and Rudy Gobert punched teammate Kyle Anderson, resulting in a one-game suspension for the Star Center.
The Lakers were already in line to be favored over the Timberwolves, but this made the NBA odds much higher for Los Angeles to get the win over Minnesota. Still, it is a one-game, winner-takes-all format and anything can happen.
The Pick
With Rudy Gobert out of the lineup, Anthony Davis has an even better matchup for the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis has been a beast down low as of late. He averages 25.9 points per game this season but ended the regular season on a tear.
The last time the Lakers faced the Timberwolves Anthony Davis scored 38 points in just 37 minutes. Anthony Davis excels in the matchup against the Timberwolves, especially when they will be missing their best rim protector. Our first player prop for the evening is Anthony Davis over 27.5 points
NBA Prop Pick: Anthony Davis Over 27.5 Points (-125) at Bet365
Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat
Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – 07:30 PM EDT at Kaseya Center
Clint Capela (Atlanta Hawks)
- Over 10.5 Rebounds
The Miami Heat are hosting the Atlanta Hawks with the winner advancing for the 7th seed in Eastern Conference. The Heat have had success against the Hawks, going 3-1 against them in the regular season.
The Heat faced the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs last year and defeated them 4-1. The Hawks will attempt to get a measure of revenge against the team that has historically performed well against them.
The Pick
Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela has an excellent matchup against the smaller Heat team. Capela averages 11 rebounds per game. He has gone over tonight’s number in nine of his last 11 games. Bam Adebayo is an excellent center, yet Capela will have the size advantage.
Capela is an excellent fundamental basketball player who will use his ability to box out to corral plenty of rebounds and get his team out on the fast break. Our second play for the evening is Clint Capela Over 10.5 rebounds.
NBA Prop Pick: Clint Capela Over 10.5 Rebounds (-105) at BetMGM
Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks)
A lot has changed since these two teams matched up last year. Atlanta has a new coach Quin Snyder and acquired star guard Dejounte Murray.
The Hawks made these moves in order to be able to match up with deep teams like the Heat. With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo providing an excellent one-two punch for the Heat, the Hawks knew they needed a one-two punch of their own.
The Pick
Trae Young has not had excellent scoring nights against the Miami Heat, yet their dedication to stopping him does create opportunities for assists. With Miami committing to the double team early in the shot clock, Young will have an excellent opportunity to use his elite passing instincts to find teammates.
The Heat will not allow Young to beat them single-handedly, they will force the other players on the Hawks to do so.
I expect Young to play smart basketball and take advantage of these passing opportunities that the Heat game plan will present for him. At plus money of NBA odds, we are getting a great price on Trae Young to record a double-double.
NBA Prop Pick: Trae Young Double-Double / Yes (+120) at FanDuel
