This college basketball season has been the year of the AI picks. With artificial intelligence getting better and better, we have more tools now than we’ve ever had to make accurate college basketball predictions.

In a world where Eric Musselman is trying to revive the mid-range jumper and disrespecting the world of analytics, Nate Oats is coaching the best team in basketball with a focus on stats-driven decision-making.

We have the information, so let’s use it for some good. This Monday has a fascinating slate of games. We only have one ranked matchup, but plenty of bubble teams are scrapping for a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Picks Summary

  • Oklahoma State vs. West Virginia: West Virginia -4.5 (-120) at FanDuel
  • Kansas vs. TCU: Kansas +1.5 (-102) at FanDuel
  • Louisville vs. Duke: Over 137.5 (-110) at FanDuel

Which College Basketball Conferences Play on Monday?

Each conference has specific days of the week where conference games are played. On Monday, we won’t see the SEC, Pac-12 or American Athletic Conference.

The other top conferences only have a few games to choose from, so this will be a top-heavy slate with tons of mid-major magic happening.

Why Is Ai a Good Tool for Sports Betting?

Artificial Intelligence takes a lot of guesswork out of predictions. It can run more calculations in a minute than you could do all day. It finds the stats that lead to success and compares them for matchups.

After all of this, it runs tons of simulations to determine what is most likely to happen. College basketball is still played on the court, and outliers are what make the sport amazing, but you can see overall value compared to the betting lines.

So, now that we have all that settled, what are the best picks for Monday?

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. West Virginia Mountaineers

Monday, February 20, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at WVU Coliseum

West Virginia is barely on the right side of the bubble right now, and they can’t afford to lose winnable games this late in the season. With three straight losses and a 4-10 conference record, this team is riding on a few key wins to get them into the NCAA Tournament.

Thankfully for the Mountaineers, Oklahoma State has a two-game losing streak as well. Neither team is playing its best ball at the moment, and both teams are eligible to miss the NCAA Tournament if things continue

A Tough Challenge Ahead for the Mountaineers

Here’s West Virginia’s remaining regular season schedule:

  • vs. Oklahoma State
  • at Kansas
  • at Iowa State
  • vs. Kansas State

West Virginia must win at least two of those games, and three of them are against ranked opponents. That makes this a must-win for WVU, and I think they will do so at home.

Three of West Virginia’s four conference wins are at home, and they add one to the resume here. AI likes them to cover the spread at -120 betting odds, and I agree with that pick.

NCAAB Pick: West Virginia -4.5 (-120) at FanDuel

Kansas Jayhawks vs. TCU Horned Frogs

Monday, February 20, 2023 – 09:00 PM EST at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena

The Jayhawks are currently projected to be one of the four one-seeds, but that is far from a lock at this point in the season. In fact, a regular season title isn’t even a lock at this point for Kansas.

The Jayhawks will likely determine the championship in the final game of the year against Texas, but they need to avoid some upsets to get to that stage. If they could pull off an upset in this game, they would be one step closer to winning the title.

TCU’s Recent Struggles

Before beating Oklahoma State, TCU lost four games in a row. Three were against ranked teams, but the Horned Frogs only scored over 70 points once. A 25-point win over OSU at home isn’t enough for me to suddenly believe that this offense is capable of dominating against a team like Kansas.

The Jayhawks could genuinely repeat as champs, and I don’t see a road game slowing them down this late in the year. They have the momentum to beat a TCU team that is limping to the finish line.

NCAAB Pick: Kansas +1.5 (-102) at FanDuel

Louisville Cardinals vs. Duke Blue Devils

Monday, February 20, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Cameron Indoor Stadium

Duke’s offense isn’t as stacked as it used to be, but Louisville has one of the worst defenses in college basketball this year. The Blue Devils should run away with this one, and they will run the score up as well.

Is the Total the Right Call?

In my opinion, this totals line comes down to whether or not the Cardinals can keep up offensively. They won’t be able to for 40 minutes, but 20 minutes of solid offense should be enough to ensure the over.

Since they are coming off of an 83-point performance, I think the Cardinals can keep up for at least the first half.

NCAAB Pick: Over 137.5 (-110) at FanDuel
