San Jose Sharks vs. Winnipeg Jets
Monday, April 10, 2023 – 07:00 PM EDT at Canada Life Centre
Sharks Just 3-12 in Previous 15
Sitting 3rd from bottom in the Western Conference (and not far from bottom) the San Jose Sharks all but gave up on their season officially when they traded away top scorer Timo Meier before the trade deadline.
The Sharks have gone 3-12 in their previous 15 games overall, whilst playing on the road they have gone 8-17 in their last 25.
Winnipeg Jets Must Win
The Winnipeg Jets must win this game if they wish to stay in the playoff race. At the time of writing, they have a 3-point lead over the Nashville Predators and just a one-point lead ahead of the Calgary Flames for the final Wild Card position in the Western Conference.
However their chances of success tonight are looking good as they face an incredibly weak San Jose team, whilst the Jets have had an impressive home record this season going 25-13-2.
The Pick
Our computer is predicting a 3-1 victory for the Jets in this must-win home game. We believe the best way to approach this matchup is to take the Jets to cover the -1.5 (-110) NHL betting odds.
The Jets have covered the spread on home ice in 4 of their previous 5 winning games, whilst opponents San Jose have failed to cover the +1.5 spread in 4 of their previous 5 road defeats.
NHL Pick: Winnipeg Jets -1.5 (-110) at Bet365
Dallas Stars vs. Detroit Red Wings
Monday, April 10, 2023 – 07:00 PM EDT at Little Caesars Arena
Dallas Push for Division Win
The Dallas Stars can still win their division, they currently trail leaders Colorado Avalanche by just one win (2 points). With both teams having three games left to play, the Dallas Stars can still push for a division win, starting tonight on the road against the Detroit Red Wings.
Red Wings Nothing to Play For
Despite Detroit having had a small resurgence in the previous few weeks with a winning record of 5-4-1, they won’t be making this year’s playoffs but can look to build for next season as they are much better than a lot of other non-playoff teams right now.
Detroit has produced -0.9 units of profit this season on the moneyline, which is better than a lot of teams who are making the playoffs. Compared to Dallas which is -4.6 units of profit.
The Pick
The Stars are already guaranteed to make the playoffs but topping the division would be much sweeter and they can give themselves a genuine chance of doing so with a victory on the road tonight.
Our computer believes a 3-1 victory could be on the cards here and we are willing to take the Stars to cover the -1.5 PK spread for a nice set of +140 odds.
The Stars have covered the spread in 5 of their previous 7 road victors.
NHL Pick: Stars -1.5 (+135) at BetMGM
Seattle Kraken vs. Arizona Coyotes
Monday, April 10, 2023 – 10:00 PM EDT at Mullett Arena
Seattle Have Made Playoffs
In just their second season in the NHL, the Seattle Kraken have made the playoffs having put together a run of 7-3 in their previous 10 games. At one stage this season Seattle leads the entire conference, but we are sure the fans, team, and owners won’t mind that they didn’t win the conference overall, as their first official post-season should keep everybody happy.
Arizona Has Been Strong on Home Ice
The Arizona Coyotes might have won just 1 of their previous 5 home games, but prior to this outlier, they have been exceptional having had a 21-14-4 overall record (not bad for a team finishing second last in their division and 4th last in the conference.
The Pick
The Arizona Coyotes come into this game having had the 9th-best ATS record in the entire NHL and despite Seattle ranking 3rd ATS, Arizona has been a level above most on home ice this season.
They even managed to cover the +1.5 PK line in 4 of their previous 7 home defeats. For us, we believe the Seattle Kraken is just happy to make the playoffs and this could be a game they take their eye off the ball.
Our computer is predicting a 4-3 win for Seattle, we believe the Coyotes could win this one outright at +200, with that said we are more than happy to take their -120 NHL betting odds to cover the +1.5 PK line tonight.
NHL Pick: Arizona Coyotes +1.5 (-120) at BetMGM
