Paces Milwaukee in defeat
Porter posted 32 points (11-16 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six assists, four rebounds, four steals and one block across 36 minutes in Saturday's 124-112 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Porter caught fire from beyond the arc and knocked down a season-high seven three-pointers. The point guard led all players in points and steals, scoring at least 20 for a fourth consecutive contest, albeit in a losing effort. The 25-year-old also matched the team lead in assists and should continue to handle increased playmaking duties with Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) sidelined.
Dec 5, 2025
Stuffs stat sheet in defeat
Porter posted 20 points (5-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), nine assists, seven rebounds and two steals in 37 minutes during Friday's 116-101 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
With Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) sidelined, Porter took on increased playmaking duties and dished out a game- and season-high nine assists. While the 25-year-old point guard didn't deliver his most efficient performance from the field, he was perfect from the charity stripe and logged his third straight game with 20-plus points. In four outings following a 19-game absence due to meniscus and ankle injuries, Porter has averaged 22.3 points, 6.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 32.0 minutes per contest. The Bucks will need him to continue his strong play as they look to stay afloat with Antetokounmpo expected to miss an extended period.
Dec 4, 2025
Pops for game-high 26 in win
Porter racked up 26 points (8-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 113-109 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Giannis Antetokounmpo played only three minutes before exiting with a calf strain, forcing other Bucks players to step up. Porter led the charge, with his 26 points topping all scorers on the night and his seven assists being a personal season high. The 25-year-old guard missed over a month with ankle and knee issues, but in three games since returning to action Porter's averaging 23.0 points, 6.0 assists, 3.7 threes, 3.3 boards and 2.0 steals in 30.3 minutes while shooting 55.8 percent from the floor and 57.9 percent (11-for-19) from beyond the arc.
Dec 3, 2025
Available vs. Pistons
Porter (back) is available to play Wednesday against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Porter is fighting through a muscle spasm in his lower back Wednesday. It'll be his third appearance since returning from a lengthy absence, so Porter is still trying to ramp up his minutes into the mid-30s.
Dec 2, 2025
Questionable vs. Pistons
Porter (back) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Porter is dealing with a muscle spasm in his lower back following Monday's game against the Wizards. If the combo guard doesn't play Wednesday, more playing time would become available for AJ Green and Gary Trent in the backcourt.
Dec 1, 2025
Ruled out with back spasms
Porter will miss the remainder of Monday's game against the Wizards due to back spasms, Justin Garcia of Locked On Bucks reports. He registered 20 points (12-15 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and three steals before exiting.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss only the last few minutes of the fourth quarter after being shut down with back spasms in what was otherwise an excellent night for the 25-year-old. He can be considered day-to-day moving forward.
Nov 29, 2025
Scores 13 points in return
Porter amassed 13 points (4-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in 25 minutes during Saturday's 116-99 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Porter was limited to 25 minutes in his first game since Opening Night. There was some understandable rust, but overall, Porter notched a solid stat line and did a good job filling out the stat sheet. Porter could very well remain in a starting role for the Bucks as long as he stays healthy, and once he gets on the same page with Ryan Rollins and Giannis Antetokounmpo, he should see an uptick in his overall numbers in a more consistent way.
Nov 29, 2025
Starting in return
Porter is in the starting lineup to face the Nets on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Porter is making his return to the hardwood after overcoming a left ankle sprain and a meniscus injury in the last five weeks. Porter will start in the backcourt next to Ryan Rollins. According to Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Porter will have a minutes limit in his first game since Oct. 22.
Nov 29, 2025
Will play Saturday
Porter (knee) is available for Saturday's game against the Nets, Justin Garcia of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter sprained his left ankle Opening Night and underwent meniscus surgery in early November after sustaining the injury during his return-to-play process. However, he's set to return Saturday. It's unknown whether the 25-year-old point guard will operate under a minutes restriction, though it appears likely given his extended absence.
Nov 29, 2025
Could return vs. Nets
Porter (knee) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Nets, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been out since he injured his knee in the first game of the season and required surgery, but there's optimism he could return Saturday. If he's cleared, he'll presumably be on a minutes restriction for at least a few games. After that, coach Doc Rivers will have to figure out the rotation considering how well Ryan Rollins has played with Porter on the shelf.
Nov 27, 2025
Remains out Friday
Porter (knee) will not play Friday against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Porter recently completed a stint in the G League and continues to trend in the right direction, but he's not quite ready for Friday. A return against the Nets on Saturday doesn't appear to be completely off the table for now.
Nov 26, 2025
Summoned from G League
The Bucks recalled Porter from the team's G League affiliate Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
With the Bucks in Miami for a game against the Heat on Wednesday night, Porter stuck around in Wisconsin and got some work in with Milwaukee's G League affiliate. The point guard has been recovering from a torn meniscus in his right knee, an injury he sustained while rehabbing from an ankle injury. He's closing in on making his return, and it's possible he joins the Bucks in New York on Friday to face the Knicks. Given the lengthy layoff, Porter could be limited at first, which may include coming off the bench. Ryan Rollins has starred since taking over the starting point guard position.
Nov 26, 2025
Assigned to G League
Porter has been assigned to the G League as he continues his rehab for a torn meniscus in his right knee, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter left the season opener early due to this injury and has yet to play since, but is expected to return in the coming weeks. Ryan Rollins, who has filled in for Porter as the team's starting point guard, is averaging 18.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.3 blocks and 2.3 threes on a 42.0 percent clip across 31.5 minutes this season but may see his usage decrease and may even eventually cede the starting role once Porter is fully acclimated to game speed.
Nov 25, 2025
Closing in on return
Head coach Doc Rivers said Monday that Porter (knee), who has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Heat, is "getting close" to a return, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter underwent surgery on his right meniscus in early November and hasn't played since Opening Night after spraining his left ankle. While Rivers' comment bodes well for the 25-year-old point guard's return in the near future, he should be considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Knicks until the Bucks provide another update. With Ryan Rollins thriving in a starting role, Porter could come off the bench once he's cleared to return to game action.
Nov 5, 2025
Undergoes successful surgery
The Bucks announced that Porter underwent surgery on his right knee meniscus injury Monday, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This is an expected update from the Bucks. The franchise expects Porter to be sidelined for approximately four weeks, meaning a return in late November could be on the table. In the meantime, Ryan Rollins will likely continue to lead the backcourt.
Oct 31, 2025
Set to undergo surgery, out 4 weeks
Porter sustained a right knee meniscus injury while going through on-court work Thursday, which will require a minor orthopedic procedure that will keep him sidelined for at least four weeks.
ANALYSIS
Porter's absence may extend beyond this four-week window, so he's a cut-candidate in re-draft leagues. Ryan Rollins has been on fire as a starter as of late, so Porter will have some competition for the starting point guard spot once he is eventually able to make it back to the court.
Oct 31, 2025
Absence streak to continue
Porter (ankle) won't play in Saturday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
It'll be a fifth straight game on the shelf for Porter, who continues to be hampered by a sprained ankle. His next chance to return comes Monday in Indiana. Ryan Rollins has been on a tear and is perhaps running away with the top spot at point guard in Porter's stead, with the former averaging 21.0 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game across his last four appearances.
Oct 29, 2025
Won't play Thursday
Porter (ankle) is out for Thursday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
A sprained left ankle will cost Porter a fourth consecutive contest. Fantasy managers can deem the guard day-to-day ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Kings. The Bucks will likely remain inclined to ride a hot-hand approach between Ryan Rollins and Cole Anthony at point guard for the time being, with Rollins functioning from the first unit.
Oct 27, 2025
Remaining out Tuesday
Porter (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Porter suffered a left ankle sprain in the season opener Wednesday against the Wizards and will now miss his third straight game. Ryan Rollins has started the past two contests and played well, so he should continue handling point-guard duties, with Cole Anthony (illness) also factoring into the mix if available.
Oct 23, 2025
To miss upcoming road trip
The team confirmed Thursday that Porter is dealing with a left ankle sprain, and he'll miss Milwaukee's next two games against Toronto and Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Porter had already been officially ruled out for Friday's matchup with the Raptors, so this update confirms that he'll miss the Bucks' two-game road trip. This means he could potentially be back for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, but additional updates on his status should come as he nears a return to play.
Oct 23, 2025
Ruled out vs. Raptors
Porter (ankle) is out for Friday's game against Toronto.
ANALYSIS
The Bucks are awaiting Porter's MRI results after the guard sprained his ankle in Wednesday's win over the Wizards. Fantasy managers can deem him day-to-day until the severity of the injury is determined. Ryan Rollins will likely start at point guard Friday, and Cole Anthony should see a boost in playing time against the Raptors.
Oct 22, 2025
To undergo MRI
Porter will undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of his left ankle injury, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Doc Rivers said postgame that Porter's ankle sprain looked "pretty bad," and the point guard will undergo further testing Thursday. Porter poured in 10 points in nine minutes before exiting Wednesday's contest after stepping on Bobby Portis's foot. Ryan Rollins started the second half in place of Porter, and it looks like Rollins and Cole Anthony would handle most of the point guard duties if Porter misses time. Milwaukee faces Toronto on Friday.
Oct 22, 2025
Won't return due to ankle sprain
Porter has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against Washington due to a left ankle sprain, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter rolled his ankle by stepping on Bobby Portis's foot early in the contest, and he's been ruled out the rest of the way. Porter finishes the game with 10 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and one steal in nine minutes. Look for Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins to handle most of the point guard duties for the remainder of the contest. Porter's next chance to play will come Friday at Toronto.
Oct 22, 2025
Departs to locker room
Porter went to the locker room during Wednesday's game against the Wizards with an apparent leg injury, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter stepped on Bobby Portis's foot, and after lying on the floor for a short period, Porter got up and walked to the locker room under his own power. While Porter is out, Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins could see more minutes.
Oct 15, 2025
Efficient from deep in defeat
Porter posted 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and four assists across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 116-112 preseason loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Porter delivered an efficient performance from beyond the arc and led the starters in triples. Additionally, the 25-year-old finished as the team's third-leading scorer and matched the team-high in assists. Porter is expected to start at point guard this season after primarily providing a spark off the bench for the Bucks in the 2024-25 campaign. He appeared in 30 regular-season games (two starts) for Milwaukee last season, averaging 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals across 20.0 minutes per game during that span.
Oct 10, 2025
Serviceable effort Thursday
Porter amassed 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 0-3 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes during Thursday's preseason win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Porter got the starting nod once again, an indication that he could be running with the starters come Opening Night. While he was perfect from the floor, he missed all three of his free-throw attempts and offered very little outside of the scoring. While he does appear to be the front-runner for the starting job, holding onto the job is far from a formality. Both Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins are seemingly worthy contenders and will be doing their utmost to supplant Porter at some point.
Oct 6, 2025
Efficient in preseason win
Porter finished with 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block across 15 minutes in Monday's 103-93 preseason win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't post eye-popping numbers but was efficient to open the preseason. The 25-year-old is competing for the starting point guard job and should continue to get opportunities to prove himself, especially with Cole Anthony (face) exiting Monday's contest early -- his availability moving forward will be worth monitoring.
Jun 30, 2025
Sticking with Bucks
Porter agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Bucks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter declined his $2.5 million player option Saturday, but he'll hang around in Milwaukee after inking a two-year deal Monday. The 24-year-old stepped into a bigger role when Damian Lillard (Achilles) was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in late March, and Porter closed out the campaign averaging 14.1 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 26.7 minutes across his final 17 games (12 regular season, five playoff). With Lillard slated to miss most, if not all, of next season, Porter should be penciled in as Milwaukee's starting point guard.
Jun 28, 2025
Set to enter free agency
Porter informed the Bucks on Saturday that he will decline his $2.5 million player option for the 2025-26 season, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter signed a two-year contract with the Clippers in June of 2024 but was traded the Bucks in February. He saw a consistent role off the Bucks' bench, and across 30 regular-season games (two starts) he averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals over 19.9 minutes per game. Porter is just 25 years old and should garner interest from teams looking to add a scoring punch to its bench.
Apr 13, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Porter (wrist) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pistons, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will join five other Bucks players on the sidelines for Sunday's regular-season finale, but he should be available for the start of the postseason. Jamaree Bouyea and Andre Jackson should see a significant increase in playing time in Porter's absence.
Apr 12, 2025
Unlikely to play Sunday
Porter is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game versus the Pistons due to a right wrist sprain.
ANALYSIS
Porter joins a long list of Milwaukee players expected to sit out Sunday's regular-season finale. If Porter is ultimately downgraded to out, Ryan Rollins (shoulder) and Jamaree Bouyea are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Apr 10, 2025
Stellar two-way performance in win
Porter ended with 20 points (6-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-9 FT), seven assists, five rebounds and five steals over 23 minutes during Thursday's 136-111 win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Porter tallied a game-high mark in steals against the Pelicans, tying the career high that he set in the Bucks' win over Minnesota on Tuesday. The 24-year-old guard also posted at least 20 points for a fourth straight game, marking his seventh such performance on the season. Porter has emerged as one of Milwaukee's top options off the bench due to Damian Lillard (calf) being sidelined -- a trend that will likely continue heading into the playoffs.
Apr 9, 2025
Strikes for 21 off bench
Porter totaled 21 points (6-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 9-9 FT), four rebounds, five assists and five steals across 25 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 110-103 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Milwaukee got some big performances from second-unit players Porter and Bobby Portis (18 points, 10 boards) as the team erased a 20-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Porter has scored 20 or more points in three straight games, and over his last 15 appearances (two starts) he's averaging 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 threes and 1.0 steals.
Apr 8, 2025
Retreating to bench
Porter isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Ryan Rollins will replace Porter in the starting lineup Tuesday. Porter has averaged 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 21.2 minutes across his previous 10 starting appearances.
Apr 7, 2025
Productive in starting role
Porter amassed 20 points (8-18 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Sunday's 111-107 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Porter was one of several Milwaukee players who embraced a bigger role on offense due to the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (shoulder), and he build off the 24-point output he had coming off the bench in the first leg of this back-to-back set against Miami on Saturday. Porter's fantasy relevancy could experience an uptick if he moves to the starting lineup in the final games of the regular season, but he's been productive across the board of late. He's tallied 20 or more points in three of his last five outings, averaging 17.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in that span.
Apr 6, 2025
Will start vs. New Orleans
Porter will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Porter will make his fourth start of the season for the Bucks on Sunday in New Orleans, resulting in Ryan Rollins heading to the bench. In his three previous starts, Porter averaged 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game, shooting 46.3 percent from the floor and 26.7 percent from deep.
Apr 6, 2025
Sniffs triple-double
Porter notched 24 points (8-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 12 rebounds and eight assists over 40 minutes during Saturday's 121-115 overtime win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Ryan Rollins got the start Saturday but was limited to 14 minutes, meaning Porter saw most of the backcourt minutes, and he took full advantage of the opportunity to deliver one of his best outings of the season. Aside from grabbing a season-high mark in rebounds, Porter also surpassed the 20-point plateau for the fourth time this season and finished just two dimes away from a triple-double. It wouldn't be surprising if Porter moves to the starting unit against the Pelicans on Sunday in the second leg of this back-to-back set.
Mar 31, 2025
Strikes for season-high 28
Porter provided 28 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 9-9 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal over 23 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 145-124 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old guard set a new season scoring high in the efficient performance. Porter has taken on a larger role in the Bucks backcourt while Damian Lillard (calf) has been out of action, playing at least 22 minutes in four of the last five games and averaging 13.0 points, 4.8 assists, 4.0 boards, 1.2 threes and 0.8 steals in 23.2 minutes a contest over that stretch. Lillard lacks a timeline for his return as he deals with a blood clot, but Porter hasn't yet shown he can provide consistent production, making him a better option as an upside dart throw in large DFS tournaments.
Mar 28, 2025
Back to bench role
Porter will come off the bench for the Bucks on Friday against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Porter got the starting nod for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets but will be in the second unit Friday against New York. Ryan Rollins will be Milwaukee's starting point guard. In 63 games in a reserve role this season, Porter is averaging 9.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field.
Mar 27, 2025
Solid stat line in starting role
Porter recorded 12 points (5-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and eight assists in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 127-117 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter moved to the starting lineup due to the absence of Damian Lillard (calf), who's out indefinitely, meaning he might remain in the first unit for the time being. Porter has scored in double digits in five of his last eight contests, and he might experience an uptick in his usage rate if he stays in a starting role going forward.
Mar 26, 2025
Set to start against Denver
Porter will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Ryan Blackburn of MileHighSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will be a starter for the third time during the 2024-25 campaign. The 24-year-old guard is averaging 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game, shooting 51.3 percent and 36.4 percent from deep in the first unit this season.
Mar 23, 2025
Produces 18 points in win
Porter contributed 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three rebounds and six assists across 27 minutes during Saturday's 114-108 victory over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Porter gave the backcourt some much-needed production with Damian Lillard (calf) sidelined. The Bucks went with youth and placed Ryan Rollins in Lillard's position, but he soon gave way to Porter, who ended with 27 minutes. If Lillard's calf remains an issue, Porter should be in line for an expanded role.
Mar 17, 2025
Scores in double figures
Porter finished Sunday's 121-105 loss to Oklahoma City with 11 points (3-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 19 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been highly productive in limited minutes off the bench for Milwaukee. Over his last eight outings, Porter has produced 12.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 three-pointers in just 17.8 minutes per contest. He could be very valuable as a streamer down the stretch if the Bucks dial back their starters to keep them fresh for the playoffs.
Mar 15, 2025
Will play against Pacers
Porter (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Pacers, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is one of several players who were listed as game-time decisions for Saturday's contest, but the floor general will suit up and should see his regular role off the bench. Porter has been operating as the Bucks' backup point guard behind Damian Lillard.
Mar 14, 2025
Likely to play against Indiana
Porter is listed as probable for Saturday's game versus the Pacers due to a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Despite dealing with a sprained left ankle, Porter isn't expected to miss Saturday's contest. If Porter is ultimately upgraded to available, he will likely continue to operate as MIlwaukee's backup point guard to Damian Lillard (groin).
Mar 14, 2025
Goes for 22 points off bench
Porter amassed 22 points (5-10 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals in 17 minutes during Thursday's 126-106 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter was one of four Milwaukee players who scored in double digits in this 20-point win over the Lakers, but he was the only one who achieved this feat while coming off the bench. Porter, who notched a triple-double as recently as the win over Dallas on March 5, has been providing solid numbers off the bench of late. He's scored in double digits in five of his last seven contests off the bench.
Mar 6, 2025
Posts rare triple-double in victory
Porter recorded 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 14 assists and one ste eal over 26 minutes during Wednesday's 137-107 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
The Bucks gave the backups extra time during the decisive win, and Porter delivered the third triple-double of his career in the process. He delivered the other triple-doubles during his three-year tenure with Houston, and is making an impact since moving over to Milwaukee after a short stint with the Clippers.
Feb 23, 2025
Another double-digit scoring effort
Porter notched 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals across 14 minutes during Sunday's 120-113 victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Porter continues to serve as a spark plug off the bench, having now reached double-digit scoring figures in four straight games. Over five games since heading to Milwaukee, the 24-year-old guard has averaged 9.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 16.8 minutes while shooting 55.9 percent from the floor. Porter could have some streaming appeal on nights where the Bucks are missing some of their key players, but he might be hard-pressed to receive minutes in the 20s while the team is healthy.
Feb 9, 2025
Not listed on injury report
Porter (trade pending) isn't listed on Milwaukee's injury report for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
After missing two games while his trade from the Clippers to the Bucks was properly processed, Porter appears ready to suit up for Milwaukee. He's not guaranteed playing time, but with Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) sidelined, plenty of minutes will be available Sunday.
Feb 7, 2025
Won't debut Friday
Porter (trade pending) is out for Friday's game versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Porter was traded from the Clippers to the Bucks on Thursday but won't be able to make his debut Friday as the deal is still being finalized. When the 24-year-old guard is able to suit up, he will likely compete for backup point guard minutes behind Damian Lillard. Porter's next chance to take the floor is Sunday's matchup with Philadelphia.
Feb 6, 2025
Traded to Bucks
Porter was traded from the Clippers to the Bucks on Thursday for MarJon Beauchamp, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
ANALYSIS
Beauchamp wasn't part of Milwaukee's future plans, so the organization moved him for backcourt talent. Porter was playing a bench role for the Clippers and will most likely continue doing so for the Bucks. In 19.6 minutes per game, he's averaging 9.3 points on 42/25/65 shooting, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.0 steals.
Feb 2, 2025
Chips in 17 points off bench Sunday
Porter registered 17 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal over 24 minutes during Sunday's 115-108 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Porter provided a spark off the bench Sunday that helped the Clippers stay within striking distance. It was the just the second time in his last 10 outings that he's reached double-digit points and he finished as the Clippers' third-leading scorer behind James Harden (25) and Ivica Zubac (18). Porter will look to build off his strong performance into Tuesday's battle of Los Angeles against the Lakers.
Jan 23, 2025
Back to bench role Thursday
Porter is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Porter ended with 26 points (12-21 FG, 2-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime loss to the Celtics, but the impressive stat line won't hand him another start. James Harden (groin) will return from a one-game absence, so Porter will return to his regular backup role in the second unit.
Jan 23, 2025
Shines despite loss to Boston
Porter ended with 26 points (12-21 FG, 2-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers started several non-regulars Wednesday since they were without James Harden (groin), Norman Powell (back) and Kris Dunn (knee), meaning Porter got the chance to play an expanded role in the backcourt. It's safe to say he didn't disappoint, finishing as one of the Clippers' leading scorers while also ending just three boards and three dimes away from a double-double. That said, Harden could return to the hardwood in the second leg of this back-to-back set against the Wizards on Thursday, meaning Porter's fantasy upside will take a severe hit if he returns to his regular bench role.

Starting Wednesday
Porter is part of the first unit for Wednesday's matchup against the Celtics, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers are without James Harden (groin), Norman Powell (back) and Kris Dunn (knee) on Wednesday, allowing for Porter to enter the first unit for the second time this season. In his last eight games, Porter has averaged 8.4 points, 4.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds spanning 18.0 minutes.
Jan 15, 2025
Won't be in rotation Wednesday
Porter won't be in the rotation for Wednesday's game against the Nets, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing all of last season due to off-court issues, Porter is slated to be phased out of Los Angeles' rotation completely Wednesday. The former first-round pick has mostly struggled in his debut season with the Clippers, shooting a career-low 24.4 percent from deep and 62.7 percent from the free-throw line across 34 appearances, and Porter is set to lose his rotation spot to Terance Mann against Brooklyn.
Jan 7, 2025
Plays well in loss
Porter provided seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 19 minutes during Monday's 108-106 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Porter's upside isn't going to be as high going forward with the Clippers slowly ramping up Kawhi Leonard. He figures to remain a key part of the offense for the second unit, however, and he's fared well over his last nine games with 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 three-pointers.
Dec 30, 2024
Contributes off bench in return
Porter registered five points (2-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds and four assists across 16 minutes during Monday's 116-113 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Porter returned Monday after missing Friday's contest due to an illness, coming off the bench and providing a nice boost while leading all second unit players in assists. Porter should continue to see his minute total and production increase as he gets back to full strength.
Dec 29, 2024
Available for Monday
Porter (illness) is off the injury report for Monday's game against the Pelicans, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed Friday's game against the Warriors due to an illness, but he is set to return to action Monday. Over his last five contests, Porter has averaged 13.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 23.4 minutes per game.
Dec 27, 2024
Won't play against Golden State
Porter (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Warriors, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was a late addition to the injury report due to an illness, and it appears severe enough for him to be sidelined for Friday's contest. He'll have the weekend to work through the illness with his next opportunity to play being Monday against the Pelicans. Porter's absence should mean more playing time for Bones Hyland, Amir Coffey and Jordan Miller.
Dec 27, 2024
Late addition to report Friday
Porter (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was a late addition to the injury report due to the illness, and he will likely be a game-time call for Friday's contest. The 24-year-old has carved out a significant role off the bench this season, and if he is sidelined, Amir Coffey, Jordan Miller and Bones Hyland are candidates for an uptick in playing time.
Dec 22, 2024
Shines off bench in loss
Porter ended Saturday's 113-97 loss to the Mavericks with 19 points (8-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter provided a much-needed lift off the Clippers bench in Saturday's matchup, leading all bench players in scoring and threes made while finishing one point shy of the 20-point mark. Porter tied a season high in scoring, also tallying 19 points Dec. 8 against Houston. He has tallied at least 15 points in six appearances.
Dec 13, 2024
Moving back to bench
Porter is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nuggets, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter got the start against the Rockets on Sunday and finished with 19 points, six assists, two rebounds and two steals across 37 minutes. However, he'll return to the bench in this one since James Harden will recover his regular spot in the first unit. Porter is averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game off the bench this season.
Dec 9, 2024
Drops season-high 19 in return
Porter closed Sunday's 117-106 loss to the Rockets with 19 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals in 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Making his first start of the season in his return from a three-game absence due to an ankle sprain, Porter set a new season scoring high as he saw his biggest shot volume of the campaign. The fifth-year guard was getting the start with both James Harden (groin) and Terance Mann (finger) unavailable, and while Harden isn't expected to miss much time, it's not yet clear when he might get back on the court. Porter will have some short-term fantasy appeal as a result until Harden is cleared to return.
Dec 8, 2024
Draws spot start
Porter is starting at point guard Sunday against the Rockets, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will get a chance to run with the starters due to the absence of James Harden (groin). This marks the USC product's first start of the 2024-25 campaign.
Dec 7, 2024
Not on injury report
Porter (ankle) was not on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Porter is poised to return Sunday from a three-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. He's averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists over 18.7 minutes per game this season while coming off the bench.
Dec 7, 2024
Likely to return Sunday
Per head coach Ty Lue on Saturday, Porter (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against Houston, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been sidelined for the Clippers' last three games due to a sprained right ankle. He was able to work through Saturday's practice and is on track to return to action Sunday. In the nine games prior to his injury, Porter averaged 10.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals over 22.7 minutes per game.
Dec 4, 2024
Out again Wednesday
Porter (ankle) will not play Wednesday versus Minnesota, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will be sidelined for a third consecutive contest due to a sprained left ankle. His next opportunity to take the court comes Sunday versus his former team with the Rockets coming to town.
Dec 2, 2024
Won't go vs. Blazers
Porter (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Portland, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is set to miss his second straight game due to a left ankle sprain. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
Nov 30, 2024
Ruled out Sunday with ankle injury
Porter (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter had a productive outing off the Clippers' bench in Friday's loss to the Timberwolves when he tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals over 24 minutes. However, he may have sprained his ankle during that game, and it's severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's contest. Terance Mann, Bones Hyland and Kris Dunn should all be candidates to see increased minutes off the bench Sunday due to Porter's injury. Porter's next chance to play will be Tuesday against Portland.
Nov 30, 2024
Productive off bench Friday
Porter had 17 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and three steals across 24 minutes during Friday's 93-92 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Despite coming off the bench, Porter finished as the Clippers' second-best scorer only behind James Harden, who posted 20 points in this low-scoring contest. The 17-point output was a season-high mark for him, and it also represented his fourth game with double-digit points off the bench in the Clippers' last six contests. Porter has scored at least 10 points in 10 different games this season.
Nov 19, 2024
Off injury report for Wednesday
Porter (head) is not on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Porter hit his head on the hardwood after a hard foul during the fourth quarter of Monday's win over the Warriors. The 24-year-old went back to the locker room and was unable to return; however, he is expected to suit up Wednesday. Across his last five outings, Porter has averaged 8.8 points, 2.4 assists and 1.6 rebounds across 17.6 minutes per game.
Nov 19, 2024
Headed to locker room
Porter walked to the locker room during the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Warriors after appearing to hit his head, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was fouled under the basket, and it looked like he hit his head on the hardwood on the way down. He ultimately got up and made his way to the locker room, but his night is finished after he was unable to come back onto the court to shoot his awarded free throw. James Harden will likely eat up the rest of the minutes at point guard with only eight minutes remaining.
Nov 16, 2024
Scores 15 points off bench Friday
Porter posted 15 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-6 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 25 minutes during Friday's 125-104 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Porter was the only other player not named James Harden who reached the 15-point mark for the Clippers in this woeful offensive performance. Porter has shown he has the ability to produce at a high level, but the lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis and his reserve role are two factors that conspire against his fantasy upside. As a result, he would be a decent streaming alternative in some formats, but not much else.
Nov 5, 2024
Hands out season-high seven dimes
Porter recorded six points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 19 minutes during Monday's 113-104 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been a fairly small part of the Clippers' rotation, playing 16.4 minutes per game. He has a tendency to run hot or cold. Monday was a mix of both, as he went 3-for-10 from the field but handed out a season-high seven assists. Chances are, he'll only make waves in fantasy when a backcourt mate is sidelined.
Nov 1, 2024
Leads bench in scoring Thursday
Porter accumulated 14 points (6-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block in 17 minutes during Thursday's 125-119 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Porter scored a bench-high 14 points while leading the entire squad in usage percentage Thursday. The 24-year-old has scored in double figures in each of his last two games, and he has played double-digit minutes in all five regular-season outings. Porter has averaged 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals across 15.4 minutes per game.
Oct 22, 2024
Ready for season opener
Porter will play in the Clippers' season opener against the Suns Wednesday night, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Porter's NBA career has endured a lot of uncertainty heading into this season, it appears he will be ready to make his return versus Phoenix after playing overseas. He looks to be the primary backup to James Harden as the team's facilitator for the year.
Oct 18, 2024
Not with team Thursday
Porter (teeth) is not with the Clippers for Thursday's preseason game against the Kings and won't be available, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if the dental issue is serious, but Porter has been playing in the preseason, so perhaps this is just a minor procedure. The coming days will be decisive to determining whether Porter will be available for the regular-season opener against the Suns on Oct. 23.
Oct 15, 2024
Drops team-high 18 points
Porter amassed 18 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1-1 FT), six assists, five rebounds and three steals in 19 minutes during Monday's preseason victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Porter put together an impressive performance, leading the Clippers with 18 points despite coming off the bench. While James Harden has the starting point guard spot locked down, both Porter and Kris Dunn will be competing for backup minutes. Of the two, Porter clearly has the offensive upside, making him an intriguing target towards the back end of drafts.
Sep 27, 2024
Will participate in team activities
Porter will be permitted to participate in team activities as the NBA continues its investigation regarding his arrest last September, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was arrested on an assault charge due to a domestic incident that occurred in September of 2023. While Porter has signed a two-year deal with the Clippers, it is unclear if he will face any discipline from the league during the 2024-25 campaign.
Jun 30, 2024
Set to return to NBA
Porter and the Clippers have agreed to terms on a two-year deal that includes a player option, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't play in the NBA last year after being arrested on an assault charge on a domestic incident that occurred in September. He played overseas in Greece in April and May and will return to the NBA on a multi-year deal with the Clippers. It's unclear whether Porter will face discipline from the league during the 2024-25 season. Over 59 regular-season appearances with the Rockets during the 2022-23 campaign, Porter averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 34.3 minutes per game.
Apr 1, 2024
Headed to Greece
Porter has agreed to a deal with Greek club PAOK for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has not played during the 2023-24 campaign due to legal issues, but he will make his return to the court with the PAOK basketball club. The 23-year-old was traded and waived earlier this season, and recently reached a plea deal in New York City court for which he will complete a 26-week counseling program to effectively clear his criminal record. Although he seems to be trending in the right direction legally and has reached a deal to play overseas, his off-court issues will make it difficult for him to make a return to the NBA.
Jan 23, 2024
Reaches plea deal for charges
Porter's lawyers announced Tuesday that the 23-year-old has reached a plea agreement of third-degree reckless assault and second-degree harassment in the domestic case involving his former girlfriend stemming from his Sept. 11 arrest in New York City, Adrian Wojnarowksi of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Porter's lawyers, he'll now have to complete a 26-week counseling program within the next year before he's then able to withdraw the plea. Just over a month after Porter was arrested, the Rockets traded him to the Thunder, who subsequently waived him. While the plea agreement represents a positive development for Porter from a legal standpoint, his history of troubling off-court behavior means that he's unlikely to be signed at any point in the near future.
Oct 17, 2023
Traded to OKC, waived immediately
Porter, along with two second-round picks, was traded to Oklahoma City on Tuesday in exchange for Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Victor Oladipo, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Porter has been waived by the Thunder following the deal.
ANALYSIS
The deal allows for Porter to be expunged from Houston's salary sheet, while Oklahoma City clears roster spots in the transaction. The Thunder also pick up a pair of second-round picks to add to their war chest of future draft capital. In September, Porter was arrested on assault charges -- the latest in a series of off-the-court issues for the 2019 first-round pick. In light of the arrest, the Rockets made it clear that Porter would not be a part of the team moving forward. After being waived by OKC, Porter will now become a free agent, but given his reputation and legal issues he's unlikely to be picked up anytime soon.
Oct 2, 2023
Not part of team moving forward
The Rockets informed Porter (personal) on Monday that he will not be part of the team moving forward, Chris Mannix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was arrested on assault charges in New York City in mid-September and is still facing potential legal punishment. It was reported that the Rockets were attempting to trade the 2019 first-round pick, but given he's been the culprit of numerous off-the-court incidents since coming into the NBA, it seems unlikely any team would be willing to give up any assets to acquire Porter. "The allegations against [Porter] are deeply troubling," Rockets general manager Rafael Stone said. Porter averaged 19.2 points in 59 games last season and is owed $15.9 million in 2023-24. Still just 23 years old, Porter has time to change his narrative, but he'll presumably have to prove he's rehabilitated before he gets another shot in the NBA.
Sep 13, 2023
Being shopped by Rockets
The Rockets are looking to trade Porter (personal) after he was arrested and charged with assault earlier this week, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With Porter facing potential legal punishment alongside league discipline following his arrest, the Rockets are attempting to move on from the 22-year-old. Considering Porter has experienced multiple off-the-court issues during the last five years, teams could feel uneasy about acquiring him.
Sep 11, 2023
Arrested on assault charges
Porter was arrested and charged with assault in New York on Monday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Police were dispatched to a New York hotel Monday morning, where Porter was arrested on assault charges and taken into custody. In addition to legal ramifications, it's possible Porter faces discipline from the team and the league following Monday's incident.
Apr 9, 2023
Not playing in season finale
Porter has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Wizards due to right knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
The Rockets have nothing to play for in the season finale except their pride and trying to improve their odds at a higher pick in the draft, so it makes sense to rest their starting point guard, especially since he's suffering from soreness ahead of this season finale. Porter will end the 2022-23 season averaging a career-best 19.2 points per game while adding 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Apr 8, 2023
Another 20-point effort Friday
Porter totaled 26 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 10-12 FT), three rebounds, five assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 112-109 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Porter scored at least 20 points for the sixth straight game, continuing what has been a strong finish to the season. He has been a second-round player over the past month, averaging 20.9 points to go with 5.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 3.1 triples. His long-term role remains a little uncertain, with many still unsure of whether he can be a starting point guard. For now, he should be looked at as a top-100 asset for next season, barring any major changes to the Rockets' rotation.
Mar 31, 2023
Stays hot with 33 points
Porter closed with 33 points (12-20 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, one assist and four steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 121-115 victory over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been phenomenal for the Rockets ever since his dud against the Cavaliers on March 26. In his last three games, Porter has put up averages of 30.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 4.7 three-pointers. He'll look to keep it going against the Lakers on April 2.
Mar 30, 2023
Puts up 31 points in loss
Porter recorded 31 points (11-22 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and three steals over 40 minutes during Wednesday's 123-114 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Porter shot 50.0 percent from the field and scored 12 of his 31 points from downtown, but it wasn't enough to lead his team to victory. The USC product stuffed the stat sheet by recording three steals for the third time in March, and he fell just one rebound shy of a double-double.
Mar 28, 2023
Bounces back with 26
Porter ended with 26 points (8-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four assists and one block across 35 minutes during Monday's 137-115 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
One night after posting a goose egg in the scoring department against the Cavaliers, Porter led the Rockets in scoring as one of seven Houston players to score in double digits. Sunday's performance has been the outlier, though -- the fourth-year guard has delivered at least 20 points in five of the last eight games, averaging 19.4 points, 5.8 assist, 5.3 boards, 2.4 threes and 1.3 steals over that stretch.
Mar 27, 2023
Rough night Sunday
Porter ended Sunday's 108-91 loss to the Cavaliers with six points (3-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one steal over 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter was certainly not at his best in the loss, delivering a performance that was both inefficient and unproductive. Despite putting together what has been a career-best season in terms of fantasy value, Porter's real-life impact continues to be a real talking point. It's hard to envisage him as anything more than a role player on a competitive team, meaning his long-term value is far from certain should the Rockets ever figure out how to turn themselves into a winning franchise.
Mar 24, 2023
Posts another big line
Porter contributed 20 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 29 minutes during Friday's 151-114 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Porter was coming off a triple-double Wednesday against Memphis and put up another massive line Friday, but the Rockets were still blown out and gave up 151 points. Porter is trending up with averages of 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.7 three-pointers over the past six games. The Rockets take on the Cavaliers on March 26 with three games left on their road trip.
Mar 23, 2023
Posts triple-double in loss
Porter supplied 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 130-125 loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been a solid fantasy option for managers all season, and put up one of his biggest performances of the year Wednesday. This was his first triple-double of the season, and it couldn't have come at a better time for fantasy owners in the thick of the playoffs. The Rockets sit in last place in the Western conference, but Porter should continue to see a heavy workload to finish the season.
Mar 20, 2023
Another solid outing
Porter ended with 25 points (7-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 8-8 FT), five rebounds and four assists over 40 minutes during Sunday's 117-107 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Porter finished with at least 20 points, four rebounds and four assists for a third straight game. During that stretch, the point guard is averaging 24.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 39.3 minutes per game. However, he continues to struggle with turnovers and has committed eight turnovers over that three-game span.
Mar 16, 2023
Posts efficient 27-point effort
Porter finished with 27 points (11-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 114-110 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter led all players in scoring in the contest, posting his highest point total since mid-December. He scored 18 points in the first half before sustaining a cut over his left eye, but Porter was able to return for the start of the third quarter. The fourth-year guard was uncharacteristically efficient with his shot, making 11 of 16 attempts after shooting just 32.4 percent over his previous three games. Since returning from a lengthy injury absence March 1, Porter is averaging 15.0 points, 7.1 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers and 1.1 steals over seven contests.
Mar 14, 2023
Records double-double in win
Porter supplied 14 points (5-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, 13 assists and three steals in 38 minutes during Monday's 111-109 victory over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Porter logged 13 assists for the second time in his last four outings. His inefficient scoring continues, but he has done an excellent job of making up for it in several other categories. Since returning from a foot injury that took place back in January, the young guard's scoring average has slipped a bit (13.0), but he's also been averaging 7.3 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals in that span.
Mar 11, 2023
Cleared to play
Porter (thigh contusion) is available Saturday against the Bulls, Coty M. Davis of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is coming off a one-game absence against the Pacers. With Porter getting the green light to return, Daishen Nix will likely return to the bench and lose most of his fantasy value.
Mar 10, 2023
Likely to play against Chicago
Porter (thigh) is probable for Saturday's game versus the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Porter is expected to return to the lineup Saturday after missing the previous game with a left thigh contusion. The 22-year-old guard will likely replace Daishen Nix in the starting five.
Mar 8, 2023
Officially ruled out
Porter (thigh) won't play in Thursday's game versus Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been downgraded from doubtful to out Thursday with a left thigh contusion. Daishen Nix and Josh Christopher are candidates to see extended minutes in his absence. Porter's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Chicago.
Mar 8, 2023
Unlikely to play Thursday
Head coach Stephen Silas said Porter is doubtful for Thursday's matchup against the Pacers due to a thigh contusion, Coty M. Davis of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has appeared in four straight games since a month-and-a-half long absence due to a foot injury, but he's expected to be sidelined again due to a thigh contusion. He presumably picked the injury up during Tuesday's loss to Brooklyn, which he finished with eight points (2-11 FG), eight rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes. In Porter's likely absence, Daishen Nix should see increased run, but Houston could also elevate TyTy Washington from the G League.
Mar 6, 2023
Dazzles as playmaker Sunday
Porter finished with 19 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, 13 assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Sunday's 142-110 victory over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Porter was efficient from the field and extremely active as a playmaker, posting his best assist total of the campaign here. This was his seventh double-double of the season and just his fourth game with double-digit assists, but it's also proof of his potential and a sign of what he can do when he's orchestrating the offense and playing at his best. This was also his first double-double of the year, but most importantly, he seems to be fully recovered from the foot injury that sidelined for 20 games in a row.
Mar 2, 2023
Mixed results in return
Porter (foot) posted 11 points (3-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 113-99 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Porter was back in the starting lineup Wednesday following a 20-game absence due to a foot injury. He was reportedly going to operate under a strict minutes restriction, but he ended up garnering a relatively normal role. However, he wasn't overly efficient as he needed 11 shots to score 11 points and had two turnovers to just two assists. Some rust is to be expected for Porter, but the fact he wasn't severely limited is a positive sign for him moving forward.
Mar 1, 2023
Starting in return
Porter is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus Memphis, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will replace Daishen Nix in the starting lineup Wednesday. The 22-year-old guard will play in his first game since Jan. 11 but will be on a minutes restriction.
Mar 1, 2023
Good to go Wednesdsay
Porter (foot) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Grizzlies, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
While Porter was initially termed questionable, head coach Stephen Silas was "confident" he would be back in action Wednesday, and that will be the case. He has started all 40 appearances this season, but it's unclear if the 22-year-old will do so in his first game back since Jan. 11. Either way, Porter's return to the fold will likely siphon minutes away from TyTy Washington.
Mar 1, 2023
Officially questionable Wednesday
Porter (foot) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Coach Stephen Silas said Tuesday that the Rockets are "confident" Porter will be able to return Wednesday, but the point guard will still carry a questionable designation ahead of the matchup against the Grizzlies. The 22-year-old will likely face a minutes restriction if he's available since he's missed the last 20 games, but TyTy Washington and Daishen Nix will likely see reduced roles once Porter is officially cleared to return.
Feb 28, 2023
Out Tuesday, likely back Wednesday
Porter (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, but coach Stephen Silas said the Rockets are "confident" he will return Wednesday against the Grizzlies, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was initially listed as questionable for Tuesday's game and participated in morning shootaround, but the medical staff would like to give him an extra day before getting him back into a game. Porter's return from a 20-game absence should result in TyTy Washington and Daishen Nix going back to muted roles. Fantasy managers should expect Porter to be on a minutes limit in his first game back.

Gets shots up during shootaround
Porter, who's been upgraded to questionable with a left foot contusion, was spotted getting shots up during the Rockets' morning shootaround, but it's unclear how much he participated. He remains questionable for Tuesday's matchup agains the Nuggets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has a chance to suit up for the first time since Jan. 11, but even if he's available, the dynamic point guard would likely operate under some restrictions following a 19-game absence. Before his injury, Porter had scored in double figures in all 39 of his appearances and was averaging 19.5 points, 5.7 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 34.6 minutes per game.
Feb 27, 2023
Upgraded to questionable
Porter (foot) is questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter has missed 19 straight games, but he's recently returned to practice and could be back in the starting lineup Tuesday. The fourth-year guard may face some limitations when he's ultimately cleared, but he should still garner a decent chunk of the playmaking opportunities when he's back to full speed.
Feb 25, 2023
Out vs. Blazers
Porter (foot) is out for Sunday's matchup against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Porter appears to be nearing a return, as he practiced Saturday, but he'll ultimately miss a 19th straight game Sunday. His next chance to play arrives Tuesday against the Nuggets.
Feb 25, 2023
Trending in right direction
Porter (foot) full participated in Saturday's practice, but his status for Sunday's game against Portland remains to be determined, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter hasn't played since Jan. 11 due to a left foot contusion, but he's trending in the right direction and could return to action soon. Seeing as the injury was to his lower body, it wouldn't be surprising to see the fourth-year guard have some conditioning hurdles to clear, so he may operate under a minutes limit when he's ultimately cleared for action.
Feb 22, 2023
Expected to miss multiple games
Correcting an earlier report, Porter (foot) will miss Friday's matchup against Golden State and has a "small chance" to play Sunday in Portland, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter did not practice Wednesday and hasn't played since Jan. 11 with a left foot contusion. He will not return for Friday's tilt and will likely also miss Sunday's game. With Jalen Green (groin) under the same designation as Porter, the backcourt will be left to TyTy Washington, Josh Christopher and Daishen Nix.
Feb 22, 2023
Misses practice, listed doubtful
Porter (foot) did not practice Wednesday and is doubtful to play in Friday's game against the Warriors, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter hasn't seen any game action since Jan. 11 due to a bruised left foot and is unlikely to return for the Rockets' first game after the All-Star break. With backcourt mate Jalen Green (groin) also doubtful, Josh Christopher, TyTy Washington and Daishen Nix may be forced to take on the brunt of the backcourt minutes.
Feb 14, 2023
Still out
Porter (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss the Rockets' final game before the All-Star break, bringing his grand total to 17 straight absences. Houston will hopefully provide an update on the USC product's status over the next 10 days, but for now, his next chance to suit up will come Feb. 24 against in Golden State.
Feb 13, 2023
Won't play Monday
Porter (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Porter hasn't played since Jan. 11 due to a left foot contusion. The starting point guard said at the end of January that there's still no timetable for his return, and the team hasn't provided an update since. Following Monday's contest, Houston has only one game left before the All-Star break, so it seems likely Porter will miss that contest as well, which would bring his grand total to 17 straight absences. However, until there's clarification on a potential timeline, we'll continue to handle his status on a game-by-game basis, so his next chance to suit up will come Wednesday in Oklahoma City.
Feb 9, 2023
Still sidelined Friday
Porter (foot) is out for Friday's matchup with the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Porter's absence streak will extend to 15 games Friday due to a left foot contusion. His next chance to play is Monday's matchup with Philadelphia, although there is no indication of when he will return.
Feb 6, 2023
Remains out Monday
Porter (foot) will remain out for Monday's game against the Kings, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will be sidelined for a 13th straight game while he continues to recover from the bruised left foot he sustained Jan. 11 in Sacramento. The point guard said last Tuesday that he remains in the midst of rehabbing the injury and has thus far been limited to dribbling and light shooting, but he nor the Rockets haven't provided any indication when he might be ready to practice again. With that in mind, Porter doesn't look like a strong bet to suit up in any of the Rockets' three games this week.
Jan 31, 2023
No return timetable
Porter (foot/toe) said Tuesday that there's still no timetable for his return to game action, Michael Shapiro of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter still isn't practicing or doing any basketball-related drills while rehabbing from a left foot injury and will remain out indefinitely. Fantasy managers can safely keep Porter on the bench until reports of him returning to practice surface, or he's upgraded to questionable on the Rockets' official injury report.
Jan 30, 2023
Not yet practicing
Porter (foot) sat out Monday's practice and is set to remain out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
The Rockets haven't provided any concrete updates regarding where exactly Porter stands in his recovery from the bruised left foot that has kept him sidelined for each of the team's last nine games, but his continued absence from practice means he'll be sidelined again as Houston kicks off a three-game week. Considering that the Rockets close the week with a Friday/Saturday back-to-back set versus the Raptors and Thunder, respectively, Porter may be available to play in just one game this week even if he's able to return to practice Tuesday and/or Thursday.
Jan 21, 2023
Will miss at least a week
Porter (foot) will not play in Saturday's game against the Timberwolves and will be re-evaluated in one week, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has already missed four games with a bruised left foot and is still in a considerable amount of pain, per coach Stephen Silas. Kenyon Martin has started in each of the four games Porter's missed while Jalen Green has shifted to the point guard position and they should continue to hold such roles until Porter returns. His first opportunity to do so will come Jan. 28 in Detroit.
Jan 20, 2023
Officially listed as doubtful
Porter (foot) is officially doubtful for Saturday's matchup against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
It was reported earlier Friday that Porter and Jabari Smith (ankle) had both been ruled out for Saturday's game, but it appears the team hasn't officially declared the two starters out yet. Kenyon Martin will likely remain in the starting lineup if Porter remains sidelined for a fifth straight game Saturday.
Jan 20, 2023
Remains out Saturday
Porter (foot) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Minnesota, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't practice Friday since he was being examined by a foot specialist, and he'll be unavailable for a fifth consecutive matchup. Porter's return timetable will likely depend on whether the foot specialist finds anything particularly concerning regarding his injury.
Jan 18, 2023
Out again Wednesday
Porter (foot) remains out for Wednesday's game versus the Hornets, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is set for his fourth consecutive game on the sidelines, leaving the Rockets again shorthanded in the backcourt. Kenyon Martin has picked up some starts in Porter's absence and could maintain that starting spot Wednesday, while Porter will shift his sights toward Saturday in Minneapolis for his next chance to return against the Timberwolves.
Jan 17, 2023
Questionable Wednesday
Porter (foot) is questionable for Wednesday's game versus Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Porter is in jeopardy of missing his fourth straight game due to a left foot contusion. Kenyon Martin has been inserted into the starting lineup in his absence. If Porter can't suit up Wednesday, his next chance to play is Saturday's matchup with Minnesota.
Jan 16, 2023
Out again Monday
Porter (foot) will not play in Monday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss a third straight contest due to a bruised left foot that he suffered on Jan. 11. However, Jalen Green and Jae'Sean Tate will be available Monday after serving their one-game suspensions Sunday. The aforementioned duo should be in line for larger workloads, while Daishen Nix and TyTy Washington could see more minutes as well. Porter's next chance to play will come Wednesday against Charlotte.
Jan 15, 2023
Officially out
Porter (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Porter was initially listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup, so as expected, he'll miss a second straight game due to a foot injury he suffered during Wednesday's loss to Sacramento. The Rockets will also be without Jae'Sean Tate and Jalen Green, who are serving one-game suspensions, so Houston's backcourt will be extremely depleted against Los Angeles. TyTy Washington, Garrison Mathews and Daishen Nix figure to be the primary beneficiaries.
Jan 14, 2023
Doubtful to play Sunday
Porter (foot) is doubtful to play Sunday against the Clippers, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
The Rockets are not ready to rule Porter out yet, but the feeling is that he has a stronger chance of playing Monday against the Lakers in the second half of a back-to-back set. If he can't go Sunday, then the likes of Jae'Sean Tate or TyTy Washington might be in line to play significant backcourt minutes.
Jan 12, 2023
Unavailable Friday
Porter (foot) has been ruled out of Friday's contest against the Kings, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
After exiting early Wednesday following a collision with teammate Jae'Sean Tate, Porter will miss the Rockets' next game with a left foot contusion. Expect Kenyon Martin and Jae'Sean Tate to see increased minutes while Porter is out. Porter's next chance to return to action will be Sunday against the Clippers.
Jan 11, 2023
Early exit Wednesday
Porter will not return to Wednesday's game against the Kings due to a left foot contusion, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter collided with Jae'Sean Tate towards the end of the first quarter and has been ruled out for the rest of the contest. Kenyon Martin entered the starting lineup for the second half and should continue to see more minutes. Porter's next chance to play comes Friday in a rematch with Sacramento.
Jan 9, 2023
Goes for 25 points in loss
Porter posted 25 points (9-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 38 minutes during Sunday's 104-96 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Porter dealt with an ankle injury in the second half, but he still finished the game and ended as one of Houston's most productive players due to his ability to impact the game on both ends of the court. Porter has now scored at least 23 points in four of his last five contests and is averaging 21.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game to begin the year.
Jan 8, 2023
Returns to action Sunday
Porter (ankle) returned to Sunday's game against Minnesota, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter suffered an apparent ankle injury, but it wasn't severe enough to rule him out of the contest, and he got back into the court in the second half.
Jan 8, 2023
Heads to locker room Sunday
Porter suffered an apparent right ankle injury and headed to the bench during Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was seen hobbling on his right leg and later grabbed his ankle on the bench, so he was taken to the locker room to undergo further tests. Jae'Sean Tate should see more minutes and Jalen Green should operate as the main ballhandler while Porter is out, and his status is now uncertain for the rest of the contest.
Jan 3, 2023
Another impressive outing
Porter logged 25 points (11-20 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and three steals in 42 minutes during Monday's 111-106 loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Porter has surpassed the 20-point mark in four of Houston's last five contests, and he continues to operate as one of Houston's most dynamic offensive weapons next to the dynamic duo of Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. He's averaging 24.6 points, 7.8 assists and 6.4 rebounds per game over that five-game stretch.
Jan 1, 2023
Does damage from deep
Porter closed with 23 points (7-12 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 10 rebounds and eight assists across 35 minutes during Saturday's 108-88 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
Porter found success yet again from downtown, as he hit 50.0 percent of his triples while also notching his first double-double since Nov. 16 against Dallas. He's knocked down four or more triples in three of his last four appearances and is averaging 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists over this brief hot stretch.
Dec 27, 2022
Erupts for season-high 36 points
Porter registered 36 points (14-22 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds and nine assists across 39 minutes during Monday's 133-118 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Porter pulverized his previous season-high mark and reached the 30-point plateau for the second time in his last three contests. The lack of consistency has been a big issue for him, but he's making strides of late with three games with at least 20 points over his last six contests. The floor general, who keeps improving his chemistry with Jalen Green in the Rockets' backcourt, is averaging 19.8 points, 5.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game in December.
Dec 22, 2022
Pops for season-high 31 points
Porter chipped in 31 points (12-19 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 116-110 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Porter put together his best performance of the season despite the loss, headlined by a season-high 31 points including five triples. Despite a few ups and downs thus far this season, Porter has been able to carve out what is looking like his best fantasy season to date. The points and assists often grab all the attention but it has been his work on the defensive end that has surprised many. He is currently averaging 1.5 steals per game across the season, taking that up a notch with 2.3 steals per game over the past two weeks.
Dec 16, 2022
Season-high mark in steals
Porter supplied 21 points (10-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and four steals over 36 minutes during Thursday's 111-108 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Porter failed to reach the 20-point mark in three straight games but managed to accomplish that feat there, although unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to carry the Rockets to victory. The positives didn't end there for the young guard, as he also recorded a season-high mark in steals. Porter is averaging 18.3 points, 4.9 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game across seven December contests.
Dec 9, 2022
Mediocre effort Thursday
Porter ended Thursday's 118-109 loss to San Antonio with 12 points (5-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal across 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter played through a knee injury, posting an unflattering fantasy line. Both he and Jalen Green struggled to hit anything on the offensive end, shooting a combined 10-of-33 from the field. After a strong start to the season, Porter has settled into being more like the player we expected. His counting stats remain strong, while his percentages and high turnovers are a constant battle. He is clearly a must-roster player, although his flaws do limit his overall appeal.
Dec 8, 2022
Active Thursday
Porter (knee) will play in Thursday's game against the Spurs, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was slated to be a game-time decision due to right knee soreness but will give it a go Thursday. He should retain his starting point guard role and should be a full go. Porter is in the midst of a breakout campaign, averaging 19.0 points, 5.8 assists and 5.7 rebounds and fantasy managers should confidently fire him up in all formats Thursday.
Dec 8, 2022
Game-time decision against Spurs
Porter (knee) is listed as a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup against San Antonio, Jackson Gatlin reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has had a strong season so far, missing only one game, and averaging a career-high 19.0 points and 5.7 rebounds through 23 games. If the guard is unable to play, Daishen Nix and Garrison Mathews will likely see increased minutes, since Josh Christopher (foot) is also questionable for Thursday.
Dec 7, 2022
Questionable Thursday
Porter is questionable to play in Thursday's game against the Spurs due to knee soreness, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is questionable to miss just his second game of the season Thursday. Daishen Nix, Josh Christopher and Garrison Mathews are all candidates to receive extended minutes if he's unable to play. Porter's next chance to play will be Sunday's game against the Bucks if he's ruled out Thursday.
Dec 1, 2022
Bounces back with 23 points
Porter ended with 23 points (8-18 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 120-100 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter was coming off three straight subpar performances, but he finally reached the 20-point plateau for the first time since Nov. 20, when he posted 30 points against the Warriors. Porter is averaging 18.6 points per game over his last five appearances, and while he's shooting 44 percent from the field in that span, that's actually an improvement considering he's only made 41.7 percent of his field goals over the entire campaign.
Nov 29, 2022
Season-low 12 points in loss
Porter chipped in 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt), four rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 29 minutes during Monday's 129-113 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter ended the loss with a serviceable, yet unflattering performance. After a hot start to the season, he is now outside the top 140 in standard leagues despite averaging a healthy 18.7 points to go with 6.1 assists per game. His percentages are a real drag when it comes to his overall value, currently sitting at 41.6 percent from the field and 73.0 percent from the line. He remains a clear must-roster player as long as you can absorb his deficiencies.
Nov 21, 2022
Goes for 30 points in return
Porter logged 30 points (10-19 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 127-120 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Porter was a game-time call after missing Friday's game against the Pacers due to a back issue, but he managed to suit up here and was one of the team's top performers across the board. In fact, this 30-point output was a season-high mark for him, and he's now scored at least 20 points in three of his last four contests. Firmly entrenched as the Rockets' main playmaker, Porter is averaging 19.3 points, 6.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game across eight outings in November.
Nov 20, 2022
Set to play Sunday
Porter (back) is listed as available for Sunday's game against Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Porter was a game-time decision due to a back issue, but he'll return to action after missing Friday's game against the Pacers. Porter will be back in the starting lineup at one guard spot next to Jalen Green.
Nov 20, 2022
Labeled as game-time decision
Porter (back) is a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup against the Warriors, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was upgraded from doubtful to questionable prior to Sunday's game, but he'll likely need to go through pregame warmups before the Rockets determine his status for the matchup. However, the team hopes that he'll be available after missing Friday's game against Indiana.
Nov 20, 2022
Upgraded to questionable
Porter (back) has been upgraded from doubtful to questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Warriors, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was expected to miss a second straight game Sunday, but the fact that he was upgraded a few hours from tip-off suggests he'll truly be a game-time call for this contest. Losing Porter would complicate the Rockets' chances of pulling the upset even more, though, as the fourth-year guard is averaging 19.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists on the season. Kenyon Martin started in Porter's place against the Pacers on Friday.
Nov 19, 2022
Doubtful vs. Warriors
Porter (back) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Porter is expected to miss a second straight game Sunday, and Alperen Sengun (groin) is questionable. Kenyon Martin drew the start Friday, and he should continue to see an uptick in minutes along with Daishen Nix.
Nov 19, 2022
Considered day-to-day
Porter (back) was absent from Saturday's practice and is considered day-to-day, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed Friday's game versus the pacers due to low-back soreness. Kenyon Martin was inserted into the starting lineup in his absence. Porter will likely be questionable for Sunday's game versus the Warriors.
Nov 18, 2022
Ruled out
Porter (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Indiana, source reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss his first game of the season due to low-back soreness. In his absence, Daishen Nix and Josh Christopher are candidates for increased roles, but Jalen Green figures to operate as Houston's go-to playmaker.
Nov 17, 2022
Questionable vs. Pacers
Porter is questionable for Friday's game against the Pacers due to lower back soreness.
ANALYSIS
Porter has yet to miss a game this season and also has yet to score in single digits. If he sits Friday, more usage could be in store for Jalen Green, while more minutes could go the way of Daishen Nix and Josh Christopher.
Nov 17, 2022
Nears triple-double in victory
Porter racked up 17 points (6-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and one steal over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 101-92 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Porter fell just short of scoring 20-plus points for a third consecutive game Wednesday, but he posted his fourth double-double of the season and came within two assists of a triple-double. The 22-year-old has topped 30 minutes of playing time in each of his last five appearances, and he's averaged 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists in 36.0 minutes per game over that stretch.
Nov 13, 2022
Ejected late in loss
Porter closed with 23 points (9-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-4 FT), one rebound and three assists across 34 minutes before getting ejected from Saturday's 119-106 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Though Porter went a modest 3-for-9 from three-point range, he missed only one of seven shots inside the arc to finish with a strong shooting line overall. The fourth-year guard wasn't anywhere near as efficient as a ball handler, committing seven turnovers while dishing just three assists. Porter is usually much better than this as a passer -- he came into the contest having dished 11 dimes in consecutive games -- but turnovers have been a major problem this year, as Porter ranks dead last in the NBA with 4.1 turnovers per contest through his first 13 games. Porter's ejection Saturday came after he tangled with Jose Alvarado in the waning seconds of the loss, but there probably wasn't enough to the confrontation to warrant a suspension.
Nov 10, 2022
Delivers double-double
Porter notched 12 points (4-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 assists and two rebounds across 40 minutes in Wednesday's 116-109 loss against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't have his best shooting performance, but he still made an impact with his passing and recorded 11 dimes for the second contest in a row. The floor general now has three double-doubles on the season, and he has scored in double digits while handing out at least five assists in five of his last six contests.
Nov 8, 2022
Double-double in Monday's win
Porter ended Monday's 134-127 win over the Magic with 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, 11 assists, one block and two steals in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
It's his second double-double through 11 games but the first involving assists, as the fourth-year guard continues a strong start to the season. Porter is averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 boards, 5.6 assists, 1.9 threes and 1.5 steals as he looks to establish himself a key component in Houston's rebuild.
Nov 7, 2022
Available against Orlando
Porter (illness) is available for Monday's game against the Magic, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter hasn't yet missed a game this year, and he'll be able to play through his illness during Monday's matchup. He's averaging 19.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 34.3 minutes per game to begin the season.
Nov 7, 2022
Questionable vs. Magic
Porter is listed as questionable for Monday's game against Orlando due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Porter has yet to miss a game this season, but it appears his status for Monday is now up in the air after the guard was added to the injury report due to an unspecified illness. If Porter can't go against the Magic, Daishen Nix and Josh Christopher would be candidates for expanded roles alongside Jalen Green (knee) in Houston's backcourt.
Nov 3, 2022
Returns to form
Porter ended Wednesday's 109-101 loss to the Clippers with 22 points (7-19 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-8 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter put together a strong outing across the board, though he needed 19 shot attempts to score 22 points. This has been a theme for the USC product in the early going, as he's shooting 40.9 percent from the field. However, Porter continues to provide value in boards and assists, averaging 6.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists through nine matchups this season.
Nov 1, 2022
Poor shooting in loss
Porter chipped in 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 95-93 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Porter had some good numbers across the board, but he should've done a better job on offense since he needed 13 shots just to score 13 points. This was his first outing in which he couldn't reach the 15-point mark, but he continues to deliver solid numbers across all categories to remain valuable in fantasy even if he has an odd game from time to time.
Oct 31, 2022
Sniffs double-double
Porter ended with 26 points (7-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 11-14 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Sunday's 124-109 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Porter ended just two boards shy of what would've been his second double-double of the season, and while his play on the glass is not something he's overly recognized for, it's worth noting that he's pulled down at least five rebounds in each of his seven contests to date. He's also thriving as a scorer, reaching the 20-point mark in three of his last four outings.
Oct 29, 2022
Another strong outing Friday
Porter provided 16 points (6-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals in 35 minutes during Friday's 125-111 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Porter took his place in the starting lineup despite a minor injury concern, delivering fantasy managers another well-rounded performance. It's been a terrific start to the season for Porter, putting up top-40 value thus far. Both he and Jalen Green have hit the ground running and as long as the Rockets are willing to go with their best lineup, Porter could end up being a bit of a draft-day steal.
Oct 28, 2022
Starting Friday
Porter will start Friday's game against Portland, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was listed as probable while dealing with a minor quad injury, and as expected, he'll be good to go for Friday's contest. Across five appearances, the fourth-year combo guard is posting 21.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 34.6 minutes per game.
Oct 27, 2022
Nursing minor quad issue
Porter is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers due to a right quad contusion.
ANALYSIS
It's a new injury for Porter, but the designation suggests that the quad issue isn't likely to prevent him from taking the floor in Portland on Friday. Porter is off to a nice start after signing an extension with Houston just before the regular season, averaging 21.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.4 steals across 34.6 minutes per contest.
Oct 27, 2022
Paces scoring attack
Porter provided 24 points (10-22 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 109-101 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Porter led the way with 24 points, and he also continues to contribute across the board. He's scored 20-plus points in three of his first five contests of the season while averaging 6.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists over that stretch. Porter has also notched a block in back-to-back games, which is excellent production for a guard.

26/10 double-double in first win
Porter registered 26 points (8-19 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 9-9 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 35 minutes during Monday's 114-108 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Jalen Green has led the offense in scoring over the first three games of the season, but Porter's shot woke up, nailing all nine of his free throws on the way to a team-leading score. Green also had an excellent evening, and the Rockets are tough to beat when both of their guards are dialed in.
Oct 23, 2022
Notches double-double in loss
Porter totaled 18 points (5-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Saturday's 125-105 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Porter shot just 5-for-15 from the field but finished with a solid all-around stat line. He led Houston with seven dimes and grabbed five-plus boards for the third straight game. Porter is off to a nice start this season, averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 3.0 three-pointers and 1.3 steals through three contests.
Oct 22, 2022
Decent numbers in Friday's loss
Porter ended Friday's 129-122 loss to the Grizzlies with 18 points (6-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds and four assists across 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter was unable to shoot well and needed 16 shots just to score 18 points, but he still ended up posting a decent stat line as Jalen Green's backcourt partner. The former Cavaliers guard is averaging 19.5 points per game while shooting 53.8 percent from three-point range following the opening two contests of the season, and while that's a small sample size, all signs point to him being one of the team's top fantasy contributors on a nightly basis.
Oct 20, 2022
Does it all in loss
Porter produced 21 points (9-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 117-107 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Porter scored the Rockets' first two buckets of the game, while also assisting Jalen Green on an alley-oop layup on the team's following possession. The Houston shooting guard remained solid throughout the contest, knocking down at least two field goals in each quarter. Porter also put together a strong fourth in an attempt to bring the Rockets back, knocking down two threes and dishing out three assists in the quarter. However, his effort would fall short as he now looks to lead the Rockets to their first victory of the season during a home matchup against Memphis on Friday.
Oct 17, 2022
Inks four-year extension
Porter and the Rockets agreed Monday on a four-year, $82.5 million contract extension, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The first season is fully guaranteed.
ANALYSIS
The deal will keep Porter with the Rockets for the foreseeable future, as the guard was set to become a restricted free agent following the 2022-23 season. Now, Porter figures to be a cornerstone of the franchise moving forward as part of its rebuild. In 61 appearances last season, Porter averaged 15.6 points, 6.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting a career-high 37.5 percent from three-point range.
Oct 11, 2022
Posts well-rounded line Monday
Porter finished with 21 points (7-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and three steals across 28 minutes in Monday's preseason loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Porter did a little bit of nearly everything in the loss, leading Houston in assists and steals and finishing second in points and rebounds. He also knocked down a trio of threes and committed just two turnovers in 28 minutes. Porter is averaging 15.0 points, 4.7 boards, 4.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.7 triples through three preseason contests.
Apr 11, 2022
Finishes season with 26 points
Porter produced 26 points (10-24 FG, 6-12 3Pt), eight rebounds and six assists across 41 minutes during Sunday's 130-114 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Although Porter is finishing his third season as a pro, he's only 21 years old and will serve as a key piece of Houston's youth movement heading into next season. The backcourt will be in solid hands with Porter and Jalen Green, and the team hopes to snag another top pick in this season's draft to complement their promising backcourt.
Apr 9, 2022
Reaches 30-point mark again
Porter ended with 35 points (12-23 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals across 39 minutes during Friday's 117-115 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been nothing short of outstanding in recent weeks and continues to play at a very high level, proving to the Rockets that he can be one of the long-term building blocks of the franchise. He's now scored 20-plus points in six games in a row and has scored at least 30 three times during that span as well. As if that was not enough, Porter has also recorded one triple-double and two double-doubles during that six-game span.
Apr 6, 2022
Explodes for season-high 36 poitns
Porter totaled 36 points (13-26 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 41 minutes during Tuesday's 118-105 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Porter connected on at least six three-pointers for the third time en route to a season-high 36 points, marking his third 30-plus outing of the campaign. Over his last five contests, the third-year guard has averaged 28.0 points, 8.4 assists, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 37.8 minutes per game.
Apr 4, 2022
Stuffs stat sheet in loss
Porter closed with 21 points (6-14 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Sunday's 139-132 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The Rockets might have lost to the Timberwolves but still delivered a good performance, and Porter was at the center of it due to an excellent all-around outing. The young floor general continues to make an impact on the offensive end of the court and has now surpassed the 20-point mark in four straight contests.
Apr 2, 2022
Shines as playmaker once again
Porter posted 27 points (11-24 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, 11 assists and four steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 122-117 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been one of the best offensive weapons for the Rockets this season and looked impressive both as a scorer and as a distributor, as he recorded double-digit assists for the third time over his last four contests. The young floor general is ending the season on a sizzling note and has averaged 18.2 points, 7.2 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game over his last 10 contests.
Mar 31, 2022
Triple-doubles in loss
Porter supplied 30 points (11-17 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds, 12 assists and one block in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 121-118 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been one of the most productive players for the Rockets this season and this was just another strong performance in midst of what has been a career year for the former USC standout. Porter has been excellent in March and is averaging 16.5 points, 6.3 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game across 16 games this month.
Mar 29, 2022
Approaches triple-double numbers
Porter amassed 26 points (9-22 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 123-120 loss to San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Porter and Jalen Green did all they could to notch a win and the Rockets looked much better than their 20-56 record might indicate. Although Porter could only muster three long-range shots in 10 attempts, his peripheral numbers were excellent, helping to pad his fantasy total.
Mar 27, 2022
Registers double-double Saturday
Porter registered 10 points (4-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt), two rebounds and 11 assists in 30 minutes during Saturday's 115-98 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't have his best shooting night, but he thrived as a distributor, leading all players with 11 dimes. The third-year guard finished with his first double-double since posting a 10-point, 10-assist performance against the Lakers on March 10. Porter is enjoying a strong month of March, posting per-game averages of 14.9 points, 5.9 assists, 4.1 boards and 2.4 three-pointers.
Mar 22, 2022
Struggles in win
Porter totaled 11 points (5-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one block across 36 minutes during Monday's 115-97 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
While Christian Wood put on a three-point clinic, Porter struggled to find a basket from downtown and suffered through a tepid shooting night. Porter has been plagued with the occasional single-digit scoring total in March, and despite excellent performances against Phoenix and Miami over the month, he's been unable to score consistently.
Mar 19, 2022
Solid production in loss
Porter closed with 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Friday's 121-118 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Porter scored in double figures for the seventh time over the last nine games. During that stretch, the third-year guard has averaged 16.6 points, 5.8 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 32.8 minutes per game. He'll look to maintain his solid play Sunday against the Grizzlies.
Mar 17, 2022
Dishes out eight dimes
Porter registered 21 points (7-15 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 129-112 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been playing well since missing four of five games in a span between Feb. 16 and March 1, scoring in double digits in six of eight contests in that stretch while posting two double-doubles and dishing out five or more dimes five times across that same span. The consistency and efficiency remain an issue with him, but Porter is averaging 16.3 points, 6.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds across that eight-game stretch.
Mar 12, 2022
Efficient scorer in loss
Porter posted 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block in 26 minutes during Friday's 113-100 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Porter cleared the 15-point mark for the fourth time over his last six contests and his role as one of the go-to players offensively for Houston is quite settled right now. He's made six appearances since the league resumed following the All-Star break and is averaging 15.6 points, 5.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game in that span.
Mar 10, 2022
Falls just short of triple-double
Porter supplied 10 points (4-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, 10 assists, one block and two steals across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 139-130 overtime win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter struggled from the field Wednesday but contributed across the board and fell two rebounds short of his first career triple-double. It's the sixth time this season he's recorded double-digit assists, and he did so against Los Angeles while committing only one turnover. Porter will remain a key piece at the point for Houston down the stretch, though his shooting percentages from the field and on free throws limit his fantasy ceiling.
Mar 7, 2022
Leads all scorers with 29 points
Porter finished with 29 points (11-21 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one block over 37 minutes during Sunday's 123-112 win over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Porter scored at least 20 points for just the seventh time this season, helping the Rockets to arguably their best win. While highlights have been few and far between for Porter, he has at least flashed some upside over the past few games. His percentages are typically a huge negative, dragging down his overall fantasy value. If you are actively punting both percentage categories, Porter certainly does enough elsewhere to warrant a roster spot.
Mar 2, 2022
Set to return Wednesday
Porter (ankle) will be available for Wednesday's game against Utah, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to Tuesday's game against the Clippers, coach Stephen Silas implied that Porter could miss both halves of the back-to-back, but he was surprisingly listed as probable earlier in the day and has now been fully removed from the injury report. All signs point to Porter returning to the starting lineup at point guard -- especially wit Dennis Schroder (ankle) sidelined.
Mar 2, 2022
Probable Wednesday
Porter (ankle) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Jazz, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed the last two games due to a left ankle sprain, but he seems to have a good chance to return for the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday. Across seven appearances since the start of February, he's averaged 14.3 points, 5.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 28.4 minutes per game.
Mar 1, 2022
Ruled out Tuesday
Porter (ankle) will not play Tuesday against the Clippers, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is still battling the sprained left ankle that kept him out of Sunday's narrow loss to the Clippers. Coach Stephen Silas implied pregame that Porter could miss Wednesday's game against Utah, as well, so fantasy managers should prepare for that possibility. Dennis Schroder will likely draw another start in Porter's place.
Feb 28, 2022
Questionable Tuesday
Porter (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Clippers, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter sprained his left ankle in Friday's loss to the Magic and was held out for Sunday's game against the Clippers. If he's forced to sit out a second straight game, Dennis Schroder, Jalen Green and Josh Christopher should handle increased work.
Feb 27, 2022
Unavailable Sunday
Porter (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Clippers, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is apparently still dealing with some swelling with his sprained left ankle and won't suit up Sunday after being considered questionable. Dennis Schroder will receive another start at the point for Houston, per Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston.
Feb 26, 2022
Questionable Sunday
Porter (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter rolled his ankle late in Friday's loss to the Magic and was unavailable to close out the game. He received treatment on his ankle Saturday and was unable to participate in practice. If Porter is held out Sunday, Dennis Schroder, Jalen Green and Josh Christopher should see increased run.
Feb 25, 2022
Unable to finish Friday's game
Porter was unavailable late in Friday's loss to the Magic after rolling his ankle, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was back in action Friday following a two-game absence due to an illness, and he logged six points (2-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds, an assist and two steals in 21 minutes prior to his departure. Coach Stephen Silas didn't sound too concerned about Porter's injury after the game, but it's not yet clear whether the guard will be available Sunday against the Clippers.
Feb 24, 2022
Not on injury report
Porter (illness) isn't on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed the Rockets' final two games prior to the All-Star break due to an illness, but he'll be back in action once the team resumes play. He's averaged 15.9 points, 6.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game across his last seven appearances.
Feb 17, 2022
Ruled out Thursday
Porter (illness) won't play in Thursday's game against the Clippers, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Porter will miss a second straight game due to an illness, so he'll look to get healthy over the All-Star break before returning for the second half of the season. In his absence, Dennis Schroder and Jalen Green figure to handle most of the point guard duties against the Clippers.
Feb 17, 2022
Doubtful Thursday
Porter (illness) is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Porter sat out Wednesday's game against the Suns due to an illness, and it appears as though he'll be forced to miss a second straight game ahead of the All-Star break. If he's ultimately held out, Dennis Schroder and Jalen Green should see additional run.
Feb 16, 2022
Sitting out Wednesday
Porter (illness) is unavailable for Wednesday's game at Phoenix, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss the front half of the back-to-back set Wednesday due to an illness, as will Christian Wood. Josh Christopher and newcomer Dennis Schroder (Achilles), if available, should see more time in the backcourt for Houston. Porter's availability for Thursday's matchup with the Clippers is also up in the air.
Feb 16, 2022
Questionable against Suns
Porter is questionable for Wednesday's game against Phoenix due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Porter was held to just eight points during Monday's loss to the Jazz and is dealing with an illness ahead of Wednesday's matchup. If he's unavailable, Dennis Schroder (Achilles), Jalen Green and Josh Christopher could see additional run.
Feb 11, 2022
Rains in six threes
Porter closed with 30 points (11-16 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Thursday's 139-120 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Porter was part of another lowlight Thursday, as he seemingly accidentally bounced the ball into Toronto's hoop, giving the Raptors two points. Other than that, Porter tacked on 30 points of his own -- fueled by six threes. Porter shot 41.2 percent from deep over 12 games in January, and is shooting a career-best 36.8 percent from beyond the arc this season.
Feb 8, 2022
Scores season-high 27 points
Porter accumulated 27 points (9-16 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 110-97 loss to New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
After an eight-point performance on 3-of-10 shooting Sunday against the Pelicans, Porter had a bounceback performance against the team, setting a season high of 27 points. It's a bit surprising that Porter previously hadn't scored more than 23 points this season given that he's one of the primary offensive engines for the team and posted a 50-point game last season. Porter will look to continue the strong play against the Raptors on Thursday.
Feb 6, 2022
Starting Sunday
Porter (illness) will start Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is battling a non-COVID illness, but he'll play through the ailment and start at his usual guard spot alongside Jalen Green. The illness forced Porter to exit Friday's loss to the Spurs after just 11 minutes of action.
Feb 6, 2022
Quetsionable with illness
Porter (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game versus New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Porter was limited to 11 minutes Friday against the Spurs due to the illness, and his availability for Sunday's contest remains in question. Eric Gordon (heel) is also questionable, so Armoni Brooks, Josh Christopher and Garrison Mathews could have heavily increased workloads if both Porter and Gordon are unavailable.
Feb 5, 2022
Off injury report
Porter (illness) is not on the injury report for Sunday's matchup against the Pelicans, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed the second half of Friday's loss to the Spurs due to an illness but is fine for Sunday. Before that, he had scored in double digits in eight straight games, with averages of 17.3 points, 7.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals.
Feb 4, 2022
Exits with illness
Porter will not return to Friday's matchup with the Spurs due to an illness, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter did not come out with the team to start the second half, and we now know the reason is due to an illness. The Rockets next play Sunday versus the Pelicans, so he will have an off-day to recover.
Feb 1, 2022
Records double-double with 11 dimes
Porter produced 17 points (6-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt), one rebound and 11 assists over 33 minutes during Monday's 122-108 loss to Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Porter's last double-double was two months ago against the Thunder, although his recent assist numbers have placed him perilously close to that benchmark in recent days. Prior to missing his last game due to the league's health and safety protocols, Porter averaged eight assists over a five-game span.
Jan 31, 2022
Ready to play Monday
Porter (COVID-19 protocols) is available for Monday's game against Golden State, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter landed in the league's health and safety protocols Friday and will return to action after missing only one game. According to Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston, Porter could face some minor workload restrictions since the guard has been sitting out practice.
Jan 30, 2022
Could return Monday
Porter (COVID-19 protocols) is questionable for Monday's game against the Warriors, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter landed in the NBA's health and safety protocols Friday and seemed set to miss at least a few games, but he's questionable for Monday after missing only once contest. Garrison Mathews may receive another start for Houston should Porter remain unavailable.
Jan 28, 2022
Enters health and safety protocols
Porter was placed in the league's health and safety protocols Friday, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was absent from Friday's shootaround due to an illness, and he'll now be forced to isolate from the team. Armoni Brooks and D.J. Augustin will likely see increased roles in his absence.
Jan 28, 2022
Didn't participate in shootaround
Porter didn't participate in shootaround and is considered questionable for Friday's contest against the Trail Blazers due to an illness, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Over his last six games, Porter has averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 31.3 minutes, so his potential absence would be a big blow to Houston's offense. If he's unable to suit up, Armoni Brooks and D.J. Augustin are likely candidates to see increased roles.
Jan 20, 2022
Two rebounds shy of double-double
Porter ended with 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), one rebound and eight assists in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 116-111 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
After leading the Rockets to a dramatic win over the Kings Monday night, Porter ceded the limelight to Garrison Mathews in the win but still put up a solid stat line. Porter depends on a big night of assists to post superior numbers, and his eight dimes rivaled his best totals of the season. He also only coughed up the ball once, a problem that has plagued Porter and the team in general.
Jan 17, 2022
Leads Rockets in win
Porter ended Sunday's 118-112 win over the Kings with 23 points (6-12 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 36 minutes. He also had six turnovers.
ANALYSIS
Porter co-led Houston scoring, while logging a team-high 36 minutes. He also led the Rockets with seven assists, but mostly offset that figure by recording a lowly six turnovers. Nonetheless, Porter is amid a hot streak, averaging 19.0 points, 5.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game over his previous three contests.
Jan 15, 2022
Scores 16 with eight assists
Porter closed Friday's 126-114 loss to the Kings with 16 points (7-16 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
After a string of rough outings to begin the new year, Porter has now put up back-to-back productive outings in games against the Spurs and Kings. In that span, he's amassed 34 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals with only five turnovers in 61 total minutes.
Jan 10, 2022
Tossed early
Porter was ejected from Monday's game against the 76ers after being assessed a Flagrant 2 foul, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports. He finished with eight point (2-9 FG, 0-5 3PT, 4-6 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter was assessed the Flagrant 2 foul late in the fourth quarter after making excessive contact with Charlie Brown, making no attempt at the ball. He's tallied six or more boards in three of his last four games and has also distributed the basketball with success, averaging 5.9 assists over his last seven matchups.
Jan 6, 2022
Hits dagger against Wizards
Porter posted nine points (3-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-4 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and four steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 114-111 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Porter returned from his one game suspension to sink a deep, buzzer-beating three to win the game. Overall, Porter was quiet offensively, but matched his career high of four steals and still flirted with a triple double. Porter will look to build on Wednesday's performance Friday against the Mavericks.
Jan 3, 2022
Slapped with one-game suspension
Porter has been suspended for Monday's game against the 76ers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was involved in an altercation with an assistant coach during Saturday's game against the Nuggets, and he ultimately left the arena in his own vehicle at halftime. The Rockets also suspended Christian Wood, who refused to sub into Saturday's game during the second half, for Monday night's contest. As of now, both players should return to availability for Wednesday's game at Washington.
Jan 2, 2022
Involved in halftime incident
Porter (thigh) notched eight points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three assists and one block over 16 minutes during Saturday's 124-111 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter came into the contest battling a thigh injury, and coach Paul Silas attributed his lack of court time in the second half Saturday to the issue. However, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Porter was involved in a "heated exchange" with assistant coach John Lucas at halftime that resulted in the guard leaving the arena and driving off in his car. Whether Porter will face further discipline by the team is uncertain, so it's unclear whether the outburst will have any sort of affect on his fantasy value. As it stands, Porter has struggled throughout the campaign, shooting just 36.6 percent from the field an 62.5 percent from the charity stripe. He has not been completely unproductive, however, thanks to per-game averages of 12.8 points, 5.7 assists, 4.2 boards and 1.3 steals.
Jan 1, 2022
Questionable to return Saturday
Porter (thigh) is questionable to return to Saturday's contest with the Nuggets, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was listed on the injury report prior to this game for an issue with his thigh. The 21-year-old was able to play, but aggravated the injury in the second half and is now being declared questionable to return to the matchup. If Porter doesn't re-enter the game, his next chance to take the court will be Monday at Philadelphia.
Jan 1, 2022
Cleared for Saturday
Porter (thigh) is good to go for Saturday's matchup against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter is still dealing with some pain in his thigh but will be fine Saturday. In his two games since his return, he's totaled 29 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Jan 1, 2022
Probable vs. Denver
Porter is probable for Saturday's game against the Nuggets, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is still dealing with some pain in his thigh but should be fine Saturday. In his two games since his return, he's totaled 29 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Dec 29, 2021
Comes close to double-double
Porter registered 22 points (8-17 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, nine assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 132-123 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter ended just one assist shy of a double-double, and he continues to produce as Houston's starting point guard while also forming what could easily be a stellar long-term backcourt alongside Jalen Green. This was his return following a 12-game absence due to a nagging thigh injury, but perhaps the most important thing is that he looked completely healthy. Porter is averaging 13.3 points and a 6.0 assists per game this season.
Dec 28, 2021
Not listed on injury report
Porter (thigh) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's contest against the Lakers, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has missed the last 12 games due to a thigh injury, but he is expected to make his return Tuesday. Before his lengthy absence, he was averaging 12.8 points, 5.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals across 30.2 minutes per game.
Dec 27, 2021
Not expected to play Monday
Coach Stephen Silas said Porter (thigh) is active, but he is unlikely to play in Monday's contest against the Hornets, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will likely be sidelined for the 12th straight game Monday. However, it's a positive sign that the 2019 first-round pick will at least be available in an emergency situation. Armoni Brooks and Eric Gordon are expected to once again draw the starting nod in Houston's backcourt.
Dec 26, 2021
Questionable Monday
Porter (thigh) is questionable for Monday's game against the Hornets, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
The Rockets have been hopeful that Porter would be able to return to the court for the team's matchup against Charlotte, and he'll have a chance to do so. If he's able to suit up, it wouldn't be surprising to see him on a minutes restriction since he hasn't played since Dec. 3.
Dec 19, 2021
Eyeing Dec. 27 return
The Rockets plan to hold Porter (thigh) out of the lineup for their upcoming three-game week with the hope that he'll be ready to play Dec. 27 in Charlotte, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss his ninth straight game Monday in Chicago due to the left thigh bruise, and he appears set to remain out for the Rockets' Wednesday/Thursday back-to-back set in Milwaukee and Indiana as well. At this stage, Jalen Green (hamstring) -- who has also been ruled out Monday -- looks poised to return shortly before Porter, but Houston will have to lean more heavily on Eric Gordon, Armoni Brooks (ankle), D.J. Augustin, Garrison Mathews and Josh Christopher as their primary options out of the backcourt and on the wing for at least one more game.
Dec 14, 2021
Still out Wednesday
Porter (thigh) is out Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Porter will be sidelined for a sixth straight game while recovering from a left thigh bruise. His next chance to play is Thursday against the Knicks.
Dec 12, 2021

Dec 11, 2021
Remains out Saturday

Dec 9, 2021
Out vs. Milwaukee
Porter (thigh) remains out Friday against the Bucks, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will sit out for a third straight game due to a bruised left thigh. Armoni Brooks and Garrison Mathews started in the backcourt during Houston's last game, and there's a good chance that will be the case again Friday.
Dec 7, 2021
Out again Wednesday
Porter (thigh) is out Wednesday against the Nets, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
A bruised left thigh will keep Porter out for a second straight contest. In his first absence, with Jalen Green (hamstring) also sidelined, the Rockets went with Eric Gordon, Garrison Mathews, Jae'Sean Tate, Christian Wood and Daniel Theis as starters.
Dec 4, 2021
Out vs. Pelicans
Porter (thigh) is out against the Pelicans on Sunday, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
ANALYSIS
Porter is unavailable due to a bruise he suffered Friday. Because fellow backcourt teammate Jalen Green (hamstring) remains out too, D.J. Augustin or Armoni Brooks could receive their first start of the 2021-22 NBA season.
Dec 4, 2021
Doubtful Sunday
Porter (thigh) didn't practice Saturday and is unlikely to play Sunday against the Pelicans, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter and Jalen Green (hamstring) are expected to be sidelined Sunday, which leaves the Rockets awfully thin in terms of playmakers. The result could be more minutes for D.J. Augustin, Armoni Brooks, Eric Gordon and Josh Christopher.
Dec 3, 2021
Won't return Friday
Porter has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's game against the Magic due to a bruised thigh, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was a game-time call ahead of Friday's matchup, but he started against Orlando and was available during the first half. However, he had a slight limp as he headed to the locker room at halftime and was unable to return to the court to begin the second half. He totaled eight points (2-8 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six assists and a rebound in 18 minutes prior to his departure.
Dec 3, 2021
Starting Friday
Porter (thigh) will start Friday's game against the Magic, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was considered a game-time decision ahead of Friday's matchup, but he'll be able to play through his bruised left thigh. Across his last four appearances, he's averaged 14.5 points, 8.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds in 31.3 minutes per game.
Dec 3, 2021
Deemed game-time decision
Porter (thigh) is a game-time decision ahead of Friday's matchup against Orlando, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's contest, but he'll presumably go through pregame warmups before the team's medical staff determines whether he can play through his left thigh bruise. D.J. Augustin and Armani Brooks would be in line for increased minutes if Porter is held out.
Dec 2, 2021
Questionable vs. Orlando
Porter (thigh) is questionable for Friday's matchup against the Magic, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been powering through a left thigh bruise lately, but it's possible he's in too much pain to play Friday after leaving Wednesday's game early. With Jalen Green (hamstring) still out, the Rockets could be extremely shorthanded in the backcourt.
Dec 2, 2021
Could miss time
The Rockets fear that Porter (thigh) could be forced to miss time, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter had returned to the court for each of the last four games, but he aggravated his thigh injury Wednesday against Oklahoma City. He missed three games with a thigh issue in November, and it's not yet clear how long he could be sidelined following Wednesday's contest.
Dec 1, 2021
Won't return Wednesday
Porter won't return to Wednesday's game against the Thunder due to a left thigh contusion, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter apparently injured his thigh sometime during the first half of Wednesday's matchup, as the guard posted 10 points in 13 minutes before exiting. The severity of Porter's injury is unclear at the moment, but nonetheless, the guard will likely be deemed questionable for the team's next game against Orlando on Friday. Armoni Brooks will likely see increased run if Porter has to miss at least one matchup.
Nov 29, 2021
Triple-double in Monday's win
Porter finished Monday's 102-89 win over the Thunder with 11 points (4-17 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds, 11 assists and three steals.
ANALYSIS
After flirting with a triple-double over the past two games, Porter finally accomplished the feat across 33 minutes of action in Monday's victory despite struggling from the floor offensively. It was Porter's third straight outing with at least 11 points, six rebounds and nine assists, and he's currently averaging 16.0 points, 10.7 assists. and 8.0 rebounds during that span.
Nov 28, 2021
Nabs second double-double of season
Porter finished with 23 points (7-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-10 FT), 12 assists, eight rebounds and one steal across 42 minutes Saturday in the Rockets' 146-143 overtime win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The extra period helped push Porter's production up a bit, but even if the game had concluded in regulation, the third-year point guard would have delivered an encouraging effort after a mostly listless start to the season. A 37 percent shooter from the field this season, Porter can't be expected to be this efficient in most games, but so long as he continues to handle a 30-plus-minute role, he'll remain a good bet to put up points, assists and three-pointers in droves.
Nov 25, 2021
Puts up 14 points in return
Porter recorded 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 118-113 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Porter returned from a three-game absence and while his shooting was a bit off, he still ended just one dime away from a double-double while also contributing in other categories. He should be one of Houston's main offensive weapons as long as he remains healthy going forward.
Nov 23, 2021
Says he'll be back Wednesday
Porter (thigh) said he will play in Wednesday's game against the Bulls, Salman Ali of Clutch Points reports.
ANALYSIS
Monday's loss to Boston marked Porter's third straight absence due to a thigh bruise, but he was able to practice Tuesday and told the media that he'll be back in action Wednesday night. Porter will likely slide back into the starting five at one guard spot next to Jalen Green. Over his last five healthy games, Porter averaged 13.0 points, 5.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 3.6 turnovers and 1.6 threes in 31.2 minutes.
Nov 22, 2021
Ruled out again Monday
Porter (thigh) will not play Monday against Boston, Adam Wexler of Sports Talk 790 in Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss a third straight game as he deals with what's apparently a pretty severe bruised left thigh. Eric Gordon has started the last two games in his place, so that will likely be the case again Monday. Consider Porter day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's home matchup against the Bulls.
Nov 21, 2021
Questionable at Boston
Porter (thigh) is questionable against the Celtics on Monday, according to Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston.
ANALYSIS
There is no indication that Porter's bruised thigh wholly healed. An unavailable Porter would make way for Eric Gordon, who logged 15 points and five assists during both games the former sat out.
Nov 20, 2021
Out at New York
Porter (thigh) is out against the Knicks on Saturday, according to Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest.
ANALYSIS
Porter will have sat out two games because of a bruised thigh. During his previous absence, the Rockets had Eric Gordon start and play 39 minutes -- his season-best.
Nov 19, 2021
Questionable vs. New York
Porter (thigh) is questionable for Saturday's tilt against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Porter sat out Wednesday against the Thunder. If he's out again, Eric Gordon will presumably remain in the starting five. Porter is struggling this season. He's failed to make more than seven shots in a single game, and he has at least five turnovers in seven appearances.
Nov 17, 2021
Out vs. OKC
Porter (thigh) is not available Wednesday against the Thunder, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss his first game of the season. In his absence, Jalen Green will presumably handle the ball more. Additional minutes could be available for D.J. Augustin and Armoni Brooks.
Nov 17, 2021
Doesn't participate in shootaround
Porter didn't participate during Wednesday's shoot around and instead received treatment for his bruised thigh, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2019 first-round pick has dealt with the thigh contusion for a couple of weeks, but for the most part, he has been able to play through the pain. However, he was forced to leave Monday's game after appearing to aggravate his injury. Porter is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Thunder, but his inactivity during shootaround isn't a great sign for his availability.
Nov 16, 2021
Listed as questionable
Porter (thigh) is questionable for Wednesday's game with the Thunder, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has dealt with a thigh thigh contusion for a couple weeks, but for the most part, he has been able to play through the pain. However, he was forced to leave Monday's game after appearing to aggravate his injury. If he is unable to play Wednesday, then D.J. Augustin and Jalen Green figure to see an uptick in minutes.
Nov 15, 2021
Exits with thigh injury
Porter won't return to Monday's game against Memphis due to a left thigh bruise, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter appears to have suffered the injury sometime in the first half, and he was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the contest. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward. D.J. Augustin and Jalen Green figure to see an uptick in minutes with Porter sidelined.
Nov 13, 2021
Goes for 18 points in loss
Porter ended with 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-7 FT), five rebounds and five assists across 29 minutes during Friday's 104-92 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been dealing with a thigh injury that has kept him in the Rockets injury report over the last couple of games, but he has managed to score 18 points in his last two appearances. In fact, the former USC standout has scored over 15 points in three of his last five games, and he's settling quite well as one of Houston's leading offensive threats on a nightly basis. That kind of role should only boost his upside going forward.
Nov 12, 2021
Available Friday
Porter (thigh) is available for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was probable ahead of Friday's matchup, but coach Stephen Silas revealed before the game that the team will be at full strength. The 21-year-old played through the injury Wednesday and logged 18 points, five rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block in 36 minutes.
Nov 11, 2021
Listed probable for Friday
Porter (thigh) is listed as probable for Friday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
Porter played through a bruised thigh in Wednesday's loss to Detroit, and while he may still be feeling the effects, it doesn't look like he'll miss any time. Porter finished Wednesday's game with 18 points, five boards, five assists, one steal and one block, but he tacked on five costly turnovers.
Nov 11, 2021
Shooting woes continue
Porter had 18 points (4-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 8-14 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 112-104 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Porter entered Wednesday's contest shooting 36.7 percent from the field through 10 games, and his 4-for-11 showing won't alter that figure. The 21-year-old is usually a reliable free-throw shooter, but he left some points on the court with six misses while also committing five turnovers.
Nov 10, 2021
Cleared to play Wednesday
Porter (thigh) will be available for Wednesday's game against Detroit, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will get by without missing any time, though coach Stephen Silas noted that he was limited at practice Tuesday, so there's a chance Porter could still be hampered by the bruised thigh that forced him to exit Sunday's loss to the Warriors early. The third-year guard is off to a bit of a shaky start, averaging 12.3 points, 5.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals while committing 4.5 turnovers per game to go with poor percentages (36.7% FG; 29.8% 3Pt).
Nov 9, 2021
Officially questionable
Porter (thigh) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Porter was limited in practice Tuesday, but coach Stephen Silas is hopeful the point guard will take the court. If not, D.J. Augustin and Armoni Brooks could see increased minutes, and Jalen Green could take on more playmaking responsibilities.
Nov 9, 2021
May play Wednesday
Coach Stephen Silas said he is "hopeful" that Kevin Porter (thigh) is able to play Wednesday against the Pistons, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is dealing with a thigh bruise that forced him out of Sunday's loss to the Warriors. The 6-foot-6 point guard has yet to miss a game this season and is averaging 12.3 points, 5.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals across 31.3 minutes per game. If he is unable to suit up Wednesday, then D.J. Augustin will likely draw the start at point guard against Detroit.
Nov 7, 2021
Dealing with thigh bruise
Porter departed Sunday's game against the Warriors due to a bruised left thigh and will not return, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter picked up the injury near the end of the third quarter and was removed from the game with 2:14 remaining the period. Shortly after, the Rockets announced that he would not return, but Houston was trailing by 17 entering the final quarter, so that may have factored into the decision. Prior to exiting, Porter had 11 points (3-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven assists, one rebound and three turnovers in 27 minutes. The Rockets are off each of the next two days, so consider Porter questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Detroit.
Nov 6, 2021
Awful shooting performance Saturday
Porter posted six points (2-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt), four assists, three rebounds and one steal in 32 minutes during Saturday's 95-94 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Porter's shooting was egregious in this one, and he crashed hard after the previous game's 20-point performance on 7-of-17 shooting. Saturday's performance will bring him below 40 percent shooting on the season, and he's barely racking up more assists than turnovers. He needs to clean up both aspects of his game before he can start making a real impact in fantasy relative to his ADP.
Nov 5, 2021
Paces Houston in points Thursday
Porter tallied 20 points (7-17 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds and three assists Thursday in a loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Though he was unable to knock down any shots from beyond the arc for just the second time this season, Porter led all Rockets players with a campaign-high 20 points. He also knocked down a season-high six free throws and added six boards. Porter is producing moderate fantasy value thus far with per-game averages of 13.3 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals.
Nov 3, 2021
Swipes four steals in loss
Porter totaled 11 points (5-14 Fg, 1-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight assists, five rebounds and four steals in 40 minutes during Tuesday's 119-117 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter struggled once again from the floor but salvaged his night with more than adequate peripheral production. Much like his running-mate, Jalen Green, Porter is going to battle through inconsistent shooting all season long. Thankfully, he has the ability to contribute elsewhere and it appears as though his playing time is locked in, even when his shot is not dropping.
Nov 1, 2021
Stuffs stat sheet
Porter recorded 13 points (6-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter has scored at least 15 points in three of his last five contests, but he's delivering value in other ways outside of scoring due to his ability to stuff the stat sheet as well. Through six games, Porter is averaging 12.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
Oct 31, 2021
Should be fine to play
Head coach Stephen Silas said Porter (ankle) should be good to go for Sunday's game against the Lakers, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter suffered a left ankle sprain during Thursday's loss to Utah but appears to have avoided anything serious. The 21-year-old guard is averaging 12.4 points, 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 28.4 minutes per game through the first five contests. He should remain in the starting unit and see his normal usage Sunday against the Lakers.
Oct 30, 2021
Officially questionable Sunday
Porter (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't practice much Saturday, but that was out of caution with the anticipation that he'll play Sunday. He's had a tough start to the year. The guard is shooting 39.6 percent from the field and has turned the ball over as much as he's assisted.
Oct 30, 2021
Expected to play Sunday
Porter (ankle) was limited at practice Saturday in anticipation of him playing Sunday against the Lakers, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter exited Thursday's game against the Jazz with a sprained ankle, but he should be fine to play after two days off. He hasn't been given an official injury designation yet, but he's trending towards probable.
Oct 28, 2021
Will not return Thursday
Porter will sit out the remainder of Thursday's game versus Utah because of an ankle sprain, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
ANALYSIS
Porter sprained his left ankle during the Rockets game's first half. He tried returning but exited after a lengthy conversation with their team doctor. Porter went to the Rockets' locker room having five points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and one steal across 19 minutes.
Oct 24, 2021
Turns it over eight times in loss
Porter finished Sunday's loss to Boston with 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists and eight turnovers.
ANALYSIS
Coming off of an 18-point, 10-assist effort against the Thunder on Friday, Porter struggled against better competition while rookie backcourt mate Jalen Green (30 points, eight threes) took center stage. It's been a frustrating start to the season for Porter, who turned it over nine times on Opening Night at Minnesota and now has 19 turnovers through his first three games. He remains a high-upside offensive player capable of scoring in bunches and racking up threes and assists, but the turnovers have dampened Porter's fantasy output thus far.
Oct 22, 2021
Improved performance Friday
Porter totaled 20 points (8-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt), nine assists, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 31 minutes during Friday's 124-91 victory over Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
After a poor showing in the season opener, Porter found his rhythm against a disappointing Thunder team, falling one assist short of a double-double. He added four triples and four defensive counters to round out what was a really nice performance. His production is going to be inconsistent and those who drafted him should be prepared for a bit of a roller coaster ride.
Oct 21, 2021
Struggles in season opener
Porter finished Wednesday's loss to the Timberwolves with 11 points (4-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one steal and nine turnovers.
ANALYSIS
It was a disastrous night for Porter, who committed a pair of turnovers in the first two minutes of the game and went on to cough the ball up a career-high nine times in just 25 minutes of action. Backcourt mate Jalen Green (nine points, 4-14 FG) also struggled in a game Houston trailed by 27 points at the half. Both young guard will look to bounce back Friday in an appealing matchup against the Thunder.
Oct 5, 2021
Strong performance vs. Wizards
Porter accumulated 25 points (9-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 120-116 preseason win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Porter kicked off the preseason with a bang by leading the Rockets in both points and assists. The third-year guard could be on the verge of a breakout campaign, as he'll start and should see over 30 minutes per game. Per 36 minutes last season, he averaged 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
May 14, 2021
Likely to miss Sunday's game
Porter (ankle) is expected to miss Sunday's game at Atlanta, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
The Rockets are unlikely to play anyone that is out for Friday's contest against the Clippers for Sunday's regular season finale. If that's indeed the case, Porter will be held out once again with a left ankle sprain. Porter last played May 5 against the Sixers posting 16 points and five assists in 23 minutes.
May 13, 2021
Out again Friday
Porter (ankle) will not play Friday against the Clippers, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss his fifth game in row due to a left ankle sprain. D.J. Augustin and Armoni Brooks should continue to see increased workloads.
May 11, 2021
Out Wednesday
Porter (ankle) is out Wednesday against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Porter will sit out for a fourth straight game Wednesday as he continues to work back from a sprained left ankle. In his absence, D.J. Augustin and Armoni Brooks should continue to see extra run at point guard.
May 9, 2021
Missing third straight game
Porter (ankle) will not play Monday against Portland.
ANALYSIS
This will be the third straight absence for Porter, who's nursing a sprained left ankle. The Rockets are updating his status on a game-to-game basis, but there's a decent chance his season could be over with just three more games remaining after Monday.
May 8, 2021
Out Saturday
Porter (ankle) is out Saturday against the Jazz, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter is missing a second straight game due to a left ankle sprain. In his absence, Armoni Brooks and D.J. Augustin should again see extra run.
May 6, 2021
Ruled out Friday
Porter (ankle) will not play Friday against Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
With Porter ruled out and 13 players included on the injury report, the Rockets may be in legitimate jeopardy of not being able to field enough players for Friday's game. But as a team looking to lose as many games as possible, a forfeit wouldn't necessarily be the worst outcome. As far as Porter is concerned, he should be considered day-to-day after departing Wednesday night's loss with a sprained left ankle. There's a decent chance he could sit again Saturday at Utah.
May 5, 2021
Won't return Wednesday
Porter exited Wednesday's game against the 76ers due to a left ankle sprain and will not return, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter suffered the ankle sprain during the third quarter of Wednesday's game, limped to the locker room, and was ultimately ruled out for the rest of the night. That leaves the Rockets with six available players for the rest of the game. Depending on the severity of the injury, Porter's next chance to return will come Friday against Milwaukee.
May 3, 2021
Stuffs stat sheet Sunday
Porter had 14 points (6-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-6 FT), six rebounds, six assists and a steal across 37 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Porter came out of nowhere to score 50 points against the Bucks a few days ago and while he hasn't been able to reach the 20-point mark since then, it's worth noting he has now scored in double digits in six straight games. He's averaging 17.1 points, 6.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game since the beginning of April.
May 1, 2021
Scores 16 in 36 minutes
Porter had 16 points (6-18 FG, 2-8 3pt, 2-2 FT) and six assists in Saturday's loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Coming off of a 50-point eruption against Milwaukee on Thursday, Porter followed up with a decidedly less-explosive performance Saturday night. Still, the ex-Cavalier led the Rockets in field-goal attempts while tacking on multiple three-pointers for the seventh time in the last eight games.
Apr 30, 2021
Explodes for 50 points
Porter scored 50 points (16-26 FG, 9-15 3Pt, 9-11 FT) with 11 assists, five rebounds and one block in a 143-136 victory over the Bucks on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Porter could not be stopped offensively, as he recorded a new career-high point total and picked up his fourth double-double of the season. The second-year guard struggled in his return from a three-game absence due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols Tuesday but he certainly shook off any remaining rust Thursday. With John Wall (hamstring) out for the remainder of the season, Porter should see plenty of opportunities and could have a big last few weeks of the year.
Apr 28, 2021
Struggles from field in loss
Porter accumulated 10 points (2-12 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists, four rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 114-107 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old returned from a three-game absence due to the league's COVID-19 protocols and posted an inefficient 10 points on 12 shot attempts. Before entering the protocols, Porter was averaging 17.0 points, 6.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 three-pointers in 35.0 minutes over his last five games. The second-year guard will look to bounce back shooting-wise Thursday at home against the Bucks.
Apr 26, 2021
Set to return Tuesday
Porter went through practice Monday and will make his return to action Tuesday night against Minnesota, Cayleigh Griffin of ATT SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing three games while dealing with the league's COVID-19 protocols, Porter was cleared to return to the team Monday, and after putting in a full practice he's been cleared to return Tuesday. Prior to entering the protocols, Porter averaged 17.0 points, 6.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 made threes over his last five appearances (35.2 MPG).
Apr 21, 2021
Out Wednesday, in protocols
Porter has entered the league's health and safety protocols and will be out Wednesday against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been excellent for the Rockets since he debuted, and he's been one of the few consistent sources of offense for Houston. In 31.7 minutes per game, he's averaged 15.5 points, 6.2 assists and 3.8 rebounds. His absence will open up minutes for Avery Bradley, DaQuan Jeffries and Armoni Brooks. It's not clear when Porter is expected to clear protocols.
Apr 20, 2021
Balanced effort despite loss
Porter notched 18 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three assists and two rebounds across 31 minutes in Monday's loss against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been outstanding since joining the Rockets and delivered another strong performance in this game, co-leading the team in scoring with Christian Wood and delivering a strong all-around effort. Porter has had a few off nights but that can be expected out of a young player, though he's been a steady performance of late for Houston. He has scored at least 15 points in four of his last five games and has registered double-digit in all but two contests since joining the Rockets back in late March.
Apr 18, 2021
Team-high seven assists
Porter totaled 22 points (8-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and a steal over 32 minutes during the 114-110 win over the Magic on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Porter sat at the final 5:05 of the third because of foul trouble and would eventually foul out with over seven minutes to go in the game. Still, he was one of three players to hit the 20-point mark and managed to lead the Rockets in assists. After putting up a dud performance Friday, Porter managed to bounce back for his second 20-point outing in his last four contests.
Apr 17, 2021
Scores just four points in blowout
Porter finished Friday's blowout loss to Denver with four points (1-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and three rebounds.
ANALYSIS
The game was over by halftime, but Porter still saw his regular workload (32 minutes) and simply wasn't able to get anything going offensively. The effort was a major letdown after he'd posted 22 and 19 points, respectively, over his last two games. Porter will look to bounce back Sunday against the Magic.
Apr 15, 2021
Scores 19 in loss
Porter scored 19 points (6-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT) with five rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 132-124 loss to the Pacers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Despite an inefficient shooting performance, Porter was able to score in double figures for the 10th time in his last 11 games. Over that span, the guard has been a solid offensive contributor for fantasy managers, averaging 16.1 points, 6.5 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. Porter has also picked up at least one steal in three consecutive contests.
Apr 13, 2021
Dishes out career-high 14 assists
Porter mustered 22 points (7-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 14 assists, five rebounds and two steals across 40 minutes in Monday's loss against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been scorching hot of late and dished out a career-high 14 dimes while also posting his fourth game with at least 20 points over his last 10 appearances. The second-year guard out of USC is averaging 15.8 points and 6.8 assists per game over that aforementioned 10-game span.
Apr 8, 2021
Shoots well in win
Porter posted 14 points (5-9 FG, 2-5 3PT, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block in a 102-93 win against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Porter has taken a high volume of shots since joining the Rockets in March. Although his field-goal percentage hasn't gotten much better, his ability to snag rebounds and assists has, as he's averaging 5.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game in April. The 20-year-old has struggled with keeping possession of the ball, averaging 5.3 turnovers a game over his team's last four games. Expect the guard's playing time to remain fairly high as the team lacks a quality shooting guard with Victor Oladipo now gone.
Apr 6, 2021
Flirts with triple-double
Porter collected 20 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT), nine rebounds and eight assists in a 133-130 loss to the Suns on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Porter put together a strong all-around performance and picked up a new season-high rebound total. It was also the guard's sixth consecutive game scoring in double figures and fifth consecutive game with at least five assists. Porter has been very effective when in the starting lineup this season, averaging 18.4 points, 6.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds in his 10 starts this year.
Apr 1, 2021
Goes for 20 points in loss
Porter tallied 20 points (9-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 0-3 FT), six assists and two rebounds in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 120-108 loss to Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
This is about as cliched as it gets for Porter who is going to be given a green light moving forward. While he is a firm must-roster player, there are a couple of glaring flaws in his fantasy game. His struggles from the free-throw line are evident, highlighted by the fact he is shooting just 58 percent on the season. He is also connecting on just 1.4 triples per contest, a number that he is doing his best to rectify. If you have him on your roster, just be prepared for the hit to your percentages and everything will be sweet.
Mar 30, 2021
Struggles for efficiency in loss
Porter recorded 10 points (5-17 FG, 0-7 3Pt), three rebounds and five assists during 36 minutes in the 120-110 loss to Memphis on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Porter saw a dramatic dip in efficiency in his second game back from a quad injury in the loss. He was not able to hit a single shot from the arc and he had a mediocre night on the floor in general. The guard was surrounded by plenty of drama this season and he found himself with one final chance thanks to the Rockets. Since joining them he has thrived in a starting role for the majority of his starts. He is averaging 16.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 29.4 minutes since his arrival to Houston. These stats should only continue to rise if he maintains a starting role for the fast paced Rockets.
Mar 28, 2021
Scores 25 in return
Porter finished Saturday's win over the Timberwolves with 25 points (10-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and two assists.
ANALYSIS
After missing the previous three games with a quad injury, Porter made his return to the starting lineup and saw 31 minutes of action. He was the Rockets' leading scorer and one of only two Houston players (D.J. Augustin) to reach the 20-point plateau. With Victor Oladipo in Miami, Porter should continue to be a productive option for the lottery-bound Rockets going forward.
Mar 27, 2021
Playing, starting Saturday
Porter (quad) will play and start Saturday against the Timberwolves, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing three straight games, Porter will return to action Saturday. With Victor Oladipo now in Miami, Porter should step in as the Rockets' third option most night behind John Wall and Christian Wood.
Mar 27, 2021
Probable Saturday
Porter (quadriceps) is listed as probable for Saturday's tilt agianst the Timberwolves, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has missed the Rockets previous three games due to right quad soreness. However, he appears on track to return to action at the Target Center in Minnesota. Still, final confirmation on his status is unlikely to come until closer to game time.
Mar 26, 2021
Out Friday
Porter (quadriceps) won't play Friday against the Timberwolves, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Porter will be sidelined for a third straight game due to right quad soreness. However, he expressed optimism about his chances to play Saturday.
Mar 26, 2021
Doesn't expect to play Friday
Porter (quad), who is listed as questionable, said he doesn't expect to play in Friday's contest against the Timberwolves, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will likely miss a third straight game due to right quad soreness, but he's hopeful to play Saturday against the Timberwolves. When he returns to action, he's slated to be the Rockets' third option behind John Wall and Christian Wood.
Mar 25, 2021
Questionable Friday
Porter (quadriceps) is questionable for Friday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Porter has missed the past two games due to a right quad injury, but he has a chance to return against the Timberwolves. If he's held out once again, Sterling Brown and Ben McLemore could see increased run for the Rockets.
Mar 24, 2021
Officially out Wednesday
Porter (quad) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the guard has been officially ruled out for this one, as Porter is currently dealing with a quad injury that he picked up during last Friday's game against Detroit. Look for Sterling Brown and Ben McLemore to likely see extended minutes in Porter's absence Wednesday.
Mar 24, 2021
Trending toward doubtful Wednesday
Coach Stephen Silas suggested that Porter (quad) is unlikely to play in Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 in Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
While Porter is officially listed as questionable on the injury report, it sounds like he's trending more toward doubtful as the 8:00 PM ET tip off approaches. Porter missed Monday's game at Toronto and was limited in each of the previous two contests.
Mar 23, 2021
Questionable for Wednesday
Porter (quad) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Charlotte, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed Monday's win over Toronto with a sore right quad, and his status for the team's next game remains uncertain. Sterling Brown received a start with Porter out Monday and went off for 20 points to go along with 10 boards. Brown would benefit again if Porter is absent for another game.
Mar 22, 2021
Ruled out Monday
Porter (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Raptors, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was questionable Monday after suffering a quad injury Friday, and he'll be unable to suit up against Toronto. Sterling Brown will start for the Rockets, while Ben McLemore could also see increased run with Porter and Victor Oladipo (rest) unavailable.
Mar 22, 2021
Listed questionable for Monday
Porter (quad) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against Toronto, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter picked up the quad injury against the Pistons on Friday, and while it did not keep him out of Sunday's loss to the Thunder, he finished with just four points on six shots in 20 minutes off the bench. If Porter is ultimately cleared to play Monday, he could return to the starting five in place of the resting Victor Oladipo.
Mar 21, 2021
Muted effort in 20 minutes
Porter finished Sunday's loss to the Thunder with four points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and five assists in 20 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Porter was battling a quad injury coming in, but he was cleared shortly before tip and ended up being one of four bench players to see action for coach Stephen Silas. Porter turned heads with some monster games last week, but his fantasy upside will be considerably lower when both John Wall and Victor Oladipo are in the lineup.
Mar 21, 2021
Officially in Sunday
Porter (quad) has been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Thunder, Cayleigh Griffin of ATT SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
It initially looked like Porter would be held out after picking up a quad injury Friday against Detroit, but he's made surprising progress over the last 36 hours and will be available for coach Stephen Silas off the bench. With both Victor Oladipo and John Wall starting, Porter's usage rate will likely dip following a four-game stretch during which he average 21.3 points, 7.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks in 36.5 minutes per game.
Mar 21, 2021
Bumped up to probable
Porter (quad) is now listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Thunder, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was initially listed as out, then moved to questionable, and it now looks like he's on track to take the floor Sunday despite dealing with a sore right quad that limited him to just 10 minutes in Friday's loss to Detroit. Assuming he does play, there's a chance Porter could be limited, and his fantasy ceiling may not be as high with both John Wall and Victor Oladipo in the lineup.
Mar 21, 2021
Upgraded to questionable
Porter (quadriceps) was upgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against Oklahoma City, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter had been ruled out for Sunday's game due to right quad soreness, so the upgrade is encouraging. The 20-year-old is going through warmups and a decision on whether or not he will play should come soon.
Mar 20, 2021
Out vs. OKC
Porter (quad) is out Sunday against the Thunder, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, right quad soreness will prevent Porter from playing, and it will be his first missed game since he debuted March 11 against the Kings. In his absence, D.J. Augustin, Sterling Brown and Mason Jones are all candidates to see expanded roles.
Mar 20, 2021
Unlikely to play Sunday
Porter (quadriceps) missed practice Saturday and is unlikely to play Sunday against the Thunder, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was unavailable during the second half of Friday's contest due to right quadriceps soreness. Coach Stephen Silas said that it's "not looking good" for Porter to play Sunday after missing practice. If he's held out, Jae'Sean Tate and Sterling Brown could see increased run with John Wall on a minutes limit.
Mar 20, 2021
Status not yet determined
Porter's (quadriceps) status for Sunday's game against the Thunder hasn't yet been determined, as an error in the NBA's official injury report listed his status from Dec. 23, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter missed the second half of Friday's loss to Detroit due to right quadriceps soreness, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be back on the court Sunday. If he's held out Sunday, Jae'Sean Tate could see slightly increased run for the Rockets.
Mar 20, 2021
Not on injury report
Porter (quadriceps) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Porter was unable to play in the second half of Friday's game against Detroit due to right quadriceps soreness, but he'll be able to return to the court against Oklahoma City. Porter returned to a bench role Friday with John Wall available, and he should come off the bench once again Sunday.
Mar 19, 2021
Won't return Friday
Porter won't return to Friday's game against the Pistons due to right quadriceps soreness, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter didn't return to the court after halftime, and the team ruled him out for the second half due to a quad issue. Prior to his departure, Porter recorded two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt) over 10 minutes off the bench. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return Sunday against Oklahoma City.
Mar 17, 2021
Leads team with 25 points
Porter tallied 25 points (9-18 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-8 FT), seven assists, four rebounds and three steals in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 108-94 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old continues to produce across-the-board for his new team. Over the last five games as a Rocket, Porter is averaging 19.6 points, 8.0 assists, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in the span. His field-goal percentage (42 percent) and free-throw percentage (73 percent) aren't ideal, but Porter's elite production everywhere else makes those small blemishes easy to swallow. The 14th-placed Rockets have every incentive to play the young guard heavy minutes the rest of the way.
Mar 17, 2021
Back on track in Tuesday's loss
Porter closed with 22 points (10-21 FG, 2-9 3Pt), eight assists, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 41 minutes during Tuesday's 119-107 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Porter turned things around after a poor performance against the Celtics, filling the boxscore and continuing his rapid ascension up the fantasy ranks. The team has certainly not been shy when it comes to trotting him out and while the 41 minutes are not an accurate reflection of what to expect on a nightly basis, it appears he is going to get more than enough playing time to warrant standard league consideration the rest of the way.
Mar 14, 2021
Struggles from field in blowout
Porter had 11 points (3-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven assists and two rebounds in Sunday's loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
It was yet another lopsided blowout for Houston, but the Rockets' struggles have opened the door for Porter, who made his second straight start and saw 30 minutes of action. While his shot wasn't falling Sunday, Porter figures to be among the weekend's most popular wavier wire pickups after he posted 27 points, eight assists, three rebounds, two bocks and a steal in Friday's loss to Utah.
Mar 13, 2021
Goes off for 27 points Friday
Porter tallied 27 points (11-25 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight assists, three rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal across 38 minutes in Friday's loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
John Wall missed his second straight game due to a bruised left knee, thrusting Porter into the starting lineup at point guard. The 20-year-old responded with a 27-point effort that marked the second-highest single-game scoring output of his young career. Porter also dished eight dimes in the contest after notching 10 on Thursday. There has never been much question about Porter's pure talent, and now that he is being given another NBA opportunity, the youngster is proving up to the task of producing at a high level. It remains to be seen how the Rockets will handle Porter's minutes once Wall returns, and there will also be less shots to go around when Christian Wood (ankle) and Victor Oladipo (rest) are in the lineup. That said, the Rockets have lost 15 straight games and should be motivated to give Porter plenty of run through the rest of the season. He's been a hot pickup in fantasy leagues over the last few days, so if you're lucky enough to still be able to pluck him off the waiver wire, don't delay in d
Mar 12, 2021
Starting Friday
Porter will start Friday's game against the Jazz, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter played 29 minutes off the bench and posted a double-double in his team debut Thursday, and he'll join the starting lineup for Friday's contest with John Wall (knee) unavailable. Porter should play a considerable role once again Friday.
Mar 12, 2021
Double-doubles in Houston debut
Porter totaled 13 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, five rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot in a loss to Sacramento on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Porter did a little bit of everything in his first game as a Rocket, leading the team with a career-high 10 dimes and tying his career-best mark with three steals while putting up 13 points. The 20-year-old looked good in G League action prior to the All-Star break, and his performance Thursday figures to earn him a long look by a Rockets team that has now dropped 14 straight games.
Mar 6, 2021
Recalled from G League
Porter has been recalled from the G League and will play for the Rockets after the All-Star break, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the second-year pro will get a chance to play in the NBA after Cleveland dealt him to Houston, and he was subsequently sent to the G League. Porter was excellent in the G League. In 36.0 minutes per game, he averaged 24.1 points, 7.3 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals. It's not clear what his role will be for the Rockets, but he'll presumably come off the bench and compete for minutes with Sterling Brown, Jae'Sean Tate and Ben McLemore.
Feb 26, 2021
Returning to Rockets after break
Porter will return to the Rockets following the All-Star break, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has been playing in the G League bubble with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In 10 appearances, he has averaged 23.7 points, 7.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 35.7 minutes. It's possible he carves out a role with the Rockets once he's back in the NBA after the break.
Jan 29, 2021
Heading to G League
Porter (personal) was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League by the Rockets on Friday, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old was acquired from the Cavaliers last week, but he hasn't seen game action since joining the team. Porter sat out with Cleveland due to a personal matter before the trade, and he'll head to the G League bubble to get some playing time. He averaged 10.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 50 games as a rookie last year, so he could rejoin the Rockets and contribute later in the season.
Jan 21, 2021
Being traded to Rockets
The Cavaliers are finalizing a deal to send Porter to the Rockets for a future second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2019 first-round pick has yet to play this season due to a personal issue and it looks like Houston is taking a chance on his talent for the small price of one second-round pick. If his personal situation clears up, the 20-year-old should have opportunities to prove himself on a Rockets team that is off to a poor 4-9 start. In his rookie season last year, Porter averaged 10.0 points on 44.2 percent shooting, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 triples and 0.9 steals across 23.2 minutes per contest.
Jan 18, 2021
Set to be released or traded
The Cavs are expected to trade or release Porter following an incident in the locker room Friday, Jason Lloyd and Joe Vardon of The Athletic report.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard has not played this season due to a personal issue, but he rejoined the team late last week and was on the bench in street clothes for Friday's game against the Knicks. At some point Friday night, Porter reportedly grew angry that the Cavs had given his old locker to recent addition Taurean Prince, and it led to an altercation between Porter and GM Koby Altman. This looks to be the final straw for Cleveland, which has attempted to help Porter with his off-court issues but is now actively looking to move on from the 20-year-old, who averaged 10.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 23.2 minutes as a rookie. Talent-wise, Porter has plenty of upside, but the Cavs will likely have difficulty getting value in return given his temperament and non-basketball concerns.
Jan 16, 2021
Back with team
Porter (personal) was on the bench in street clothes Friday during the Cavaliers' 106-103 win over the Knicks, Sam Amico of FortyEightMinutes.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter had been away from the Cavaliers since mid-December for personal reasons related to his Nov. 15 arrest, but the second-year wing now looks like he's ready to prepare for his season debut. According to Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Porter joined the Cavaliers for practice Thursday, with a team source indicating that the 20-year-old is being "worked back into the mix." Given how long he had been away from the team, Porter will likely need multiple practices to get his body conditioned for game action, but his presence with the Cavaliers could leave the door open for him to make his season debut next week. The No. 30 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Porter turned in a solid rookie campaign, averaging 10.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 triples and 0.9 steals in 23.2 minutes per game over 50 appearances.
Jan 6, 2021
Without timetable for return
Porter (personal) is out for the remainder of the Cavaliers' road trip and the team won't bring him back "until they believe he is emotionally ready to return and has done enough away-from-the-court self-care," Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Both the organization and Porter have been quiet about his absence, but there's reason to believe it has to do in some part with his arrest in mid-November and related personal challenges. According to Fedor, "Until [the team] feels comfortable and see what they need out of Porter, he will not play. It's as simple -- and complicated -- as that."
Jan 5, 2021
Out again Wednesday
Porter (personal) will remain out for Wednesday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Porter remains away from the team and will miss another game to begin the season. He did not play during the preseason, either, and has not been with the Cavs since early in December.
Jan 3, 2021
Remains out Monday
Porter (personal) was ruled out for Monday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss yet another game while tending to a personal matter. It's not yet clear when he could return to the team.
Jan 1, 2021
Ruled out Saturday
Porter (personal) remains out for Saturday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Porter is still away from the team while dealing with a personal matter, and it's completely unclear when he might make his return. For now, the Cavs are handling Porter Jr.'s status on a game-to-game basis.
Dec 30, 2020

Dec 28, 2020
Out again Tuesday
Porter (personal) will remain out for Tuesday's game against New York.
ANALYSIS
It'll be another missed game for Porter to begin the season, and it remains very much unclear when he'll return to the team. The Cavs head out on a six-game road trip that begins Thursday in Indianapolis, so it's quite possible Porter could miss several more games, as practice time will likely be fairly limited over the next two weeks.
Dec 27, 2020
Still out due to personal issue
Porter (personal) is out for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Porter will miss both games of a back-to-back for Cleveland as he continues to deal with a personal issue. Cedi Osman will continue to see an expanded role due to the 20-year-old's absence.
Dec 25, 2020
Out again
Porter (personal) will not play Saturday against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Porter is still away from the team while tending to a personal issue, and it's unclear when he'll be available. With the Cavs entering the first night of a back-to-back, it's likely that Porter will miss at least the first three games of the season.
Dec 23, 2020
Third-year option picked up
The Cavaliers exercised Porter's (personal) $1.78 million team option for 2021-22 on Wednesday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
In addition to Porter, the Cavaliers exercised the third-year options for Darius Garland and Dylan Windler, while Collin Sexton's fourth-year option was also picked up. Porter won't be available Wednesday's season opener versus the Hornets, and his timeline to rejoin the Cavaliers remains unclear while he continues to deal with a personal matter.
Dec 22, 2020
Sitting out opener
Porter (personal) has been ruled out for Wednesday's season opener against Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old has been away from the team for the past couple weeks and is unavailable for the first game of the season. It's unclear when Porter is expected to retake the court.
Dec 18, 2020
Won't play Friday
Porter (personal) won't play in Friday's preseason game against the Knicks, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Charges against Porter were recently dropped in connection with a a car crash on an interstate south of Cleveland, but he will remain out for the preseason finale. The 20-year-old will hope to suit open Wednesday for the team's regular season debut against Charlotte.
Dec 17, 2020
Charges dropped
The charges stemming from Porter's car accident in November have been dropped, Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. However, Bobby Marks of ESPN notes that the league can still punish Porter with a suspension or fine.
ANALYSIS
Porter, who flipped his SUV along an interstate south of Cleveland, admitted fault for his failure to control the vehicle, and a grand jury declined to indict him on the felony gun charge plus misdemeanors of marijuana possession and driving without a license. Porter has been away from the team lately for personal reasons, which likely had to do with the aforementioned case. It's not immediately clear if he'll be available for Friday's preseason finale against the Knicks, but there's a good chance he'll suit up for the regular-season opener Dec. 23 against the Hornets.
Dec 16, 2020
Away from team
Porter (personal) isn't with the team for the two preseason games this week in New York, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old was previously ruled out for Wednesday's contest, but it appears he'll also be out for Friday's preseason finale since he didn't travel with the team. It's unclear when Porter is expected to be back on the court.
Dec 16, 2020
Out Wednesday
Porter (personal) is out Wednesday against the Knicks, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A personal issue has prevented Porter from making his preseason debut and will again keep him off the court Wednesday.
Dec 13, 2020
Out again Monday
Porter is listed as out for Monday's preseason game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
After missing Saturday's opener due to a personal matter, Porter is set to miss a second straight contest. The second-year guard's next chance to play will come Wednesday against the Knicks.
Dec 12, 2020
Out for preseason opener
Porter (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's preseason opener against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Porter went through his first day of training camp on Thursday, and the Cavaliers want more ramp-up time before he plays in games.
Dec 10, 2020
Participates in camp Thursday
Porter (undisclosed) went through his first day of training camp Thursday, Spencer Davies of BasketballInsiders.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter had been missing from the initial days of camp, with the presumption being that he had to go through COVID-19 protocols. He was a partial participant Thursday and the team expects him to do more Friday. Porter should be considered questionable for Saturday's preseason opener against the Pacers.
Nov 15, 2020
Arrested Sunday
Porter was arrested Sunday morning and is facing charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2019 first-round pick has already been released on bond, and the Cavaliers are aware of the situation and gathering details before making a statement. It's too early to know if Porter will face any disciplinary action as a result of the incident.
Mar 9, 2020
Out Tuesday
Porter (concussion) will not play in Tuesday's tilt against the Bulls, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter has yet to clear concussion protocol and will miss his third consecutive game as a result. His next chance to suit up will be Friday versus the Hornets.
Mar 8, 2020
Not playing Sunday
Porter (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Spurs, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter's absence for a second straight game comes as little surprise after he was ruled out indefinitely upon picking up a concussion in his last appearance Wednesday against the Celtics. The rookie will need to clear each phase of the protocol for head injuries before the Cavaliers deem him available for action. Unless he's able to get in some on-court work Monday, Porter seems likely to sit out Tuesday's game in Chicago, too, and perhaps additional contests to follow.
Mar 5, 2020
In concussion protocol
Porter has been placed in the league's concussion protocol and is out indefinitely, Sam Amico of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter suffered the concussion after playing 10 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Celtics. It comes at an unfortunate time for Porter, who had strung together a nice stretch of games. In the 14 contests prior to Wednesday, he was averaging 14.2 points on 11.4 shots, plus 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steal in 28.2 minutes. That stretch also included one 30-point, eight-assist, three-assist, three steal effort against the Heat. While Porter is on the shelf, the short-handed Cavaliers may have to get creative to fill 48 minutes per position. The recently-signed Sir'Dominic Pointer could see significant run.

Doubtful to return Wednesday
Porter suffered a head injury and is doubtful to return to Saturday's game against Boston, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter left the game during the second quarter of Wednesday's game after suffering an unspecified head injury. As the specifics of the issue are largely unclear, look for the team to provide a more detailed update on Porter's health status ahead of Saturday's tilt with the Nuggets.

Late scratch from starting lineup
Porter will come off the bench for Wednesday's tilt with Boston, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter was a late scratch from the starting lineup, being replaced by Matthew Dellavedova. The move's unlikely to affect his workload as the rookie guard's been one of the bright spots on the Cavaliers over the recent weeks and has tallied double-digit scoring performances in 10 of his past 12 games.

Joins starting lineup
Porter is starting Monday against the Jazz, Spencer Davies of BasketballInsiders.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter will get the spot start Monday with Darius Garland (groin) sidelined. In a pair of previous starts this season, Porter posted averages of 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal in 25.0 minutes.

Plays 31 minutes in loss
Porter ended with 16 points (7-19 FG, 2-8 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 31 minutes during Friday's 116-104 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Porter continues to figure things out during what has been an interesting rookie season. He was second on the team in shot attempts, recording 19 during his 31 minutes. After a couple of games where he saw limited playing time, he appears to have worked his way back into the good books of late. If you can live with a few inconsistent performances, Porter is worth a look in 12-team leagues.

Career night in OT win
Porter scored a career-high 30 points (9-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 8-10 FT) while adding eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in 41 minutes off the bench during Monday's 125-119 overtime win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The rookie was a big part of the Cavs' rally from a 19-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter, and Porter then scored the go-ahead bucket in OT with a dunk off a pass from Kevin Love. Porter has only five total points in his prior two games however, and this was only the third time this season he's struck for 20 or more, so the teenage guard remains a risky fantasy play despite the upside he flashed in this one.
Feb 13, 2020
Stays productive off bench
Porter scored 18 points (7-11 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 32 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 127-105 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
The teenage rookie got some extra run late in the blowout -- his 32 minutes were a career high -- but Porter has been rolling since the end of January. He's scored in double digits in seven straight games, averaging 16.1 points, 2.9 boards, 2.4 assists and 2.3 threes in 27.7 minutes a night over that stretch, and he's emerging as the Cavs' primary backcourt option on the second unit.

Drops 17 points Sunday
Porter totaled 17 points (8-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's 133-92 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Porter took a while to get going Sunday but cashed in during garbage time. He finished with a serviceable 12-team line and more importantly, didn't turn the ball over at all. Porter is looking like a potential breakout candidate as the Cavaliers fall predictably out of the playoff race. He is worth a look right now if you can deal with a few inconsistencies and could pay off later in the season.
Feb 5, 2020
Scores 13 in 31 minutes
Porter provided 13 points (5-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 109-103 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Porter matched his career high in minutes and reached double figures in scoring for the fifth straight game. The 19-year-old rookie figures to continue earning plenty of minutes as the season carries on, but expecting consistency might be a tough ask.
Jan 30, 2020
No minutes limit
Porter has no minutes restriction for Thursday's game against the Raptors, Spencer Davies of BasketballInsiders.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter won't face any restrictions moving forward after experiencing no issues during his first two games back from a multi-week absence. The 19-year-old is averaging 15.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 21.0 minutes since his return.
Jan 28, 2020
Scores 21 in 26 minutes
Porter produced 21 points (8-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 125-111 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
After having been listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, Porter scored at least 20 for the second time through 36 appearances, and he has reached double figures in nine of his last 18 games. Through his first 18 games he reached double figures just once, so it's clear Porter is becoming more comfortable as the campaign progresses.

Cleared to play
Porter (ankle) will play Tuesday against New Orleans, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Porter took part in pregame warmups and has since been cleared to take the court Tuesday evening. He finished with nine points, three steals and a rebound over 16 minutes off the bench Monday night.
Jan 28, 2020
Questionable vs. Pels
Porter is considered questionable for Tuesday's game against New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
The designation is likely precautionary, as the Cavs enter the second game of a back-to-back set. Porter made his return to action Monday night after missing a string of games with a sprained right ankle. He finished with nine points, three steals and one rebound across 16 minutes.
Jan 27, 2020
Scores nine in 16 minutes
Porter pitched in nine points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three steals, one rebound and one block in 16 minutes during Monday's 115-100 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Porter returned to the rotation following a 10-game absence with a sprained left knee and posted a quality line in limited minutes. It's the fourth time through 35 appearances that he has amassed three swipes, and Porter has been a pleasant surprise and could find himself more involved here in the second half of the campaign, particularly if the team swings a trade or two before the deadline.
Jan 27, 2020
Available Monday
Porter (knee) will play in Monday's contest against Detroit, Spencer Davies of BasketballInsiders.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It'll be the rookie's first game since logging 19 minutes against Minnesota back on Jan. 5, snapping a streak of 10 straight missed matchups due to a lingering left knee sprain. Porter will reportedly ease back into the rotation, meaning a minutes restriction is likely for the guard versus the Pistons on Monday. Porter's return will likely also affect teammate Alfonzo McKinnie's minutes moving forward.
Jan 26, 2020
Probable Monday
Porter (knee) is considered probable for Monday's game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
The Cavs haven't said much about Porter since he was diagnosed with a sprained left knee early in the month, but it appears he'll have a good chance to get back on the floor Monday. Even if he's ultimately held out, Porter was given a four-to-six-week timetable as of Jan. 9, so he's well ahead of that initial estimation.
