BetMGM has announced it has added Dual Play Baccarat to its iGaming platform, which will be broadcast from Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino. The game will allow both remote and retail guests to play simultaneously.
A New Frontier
Mobile sports betting may be sweeping the nation, but iGaming is a far more lucrative form of gambling. Moreover, the advent of live dealers brings greater realism and a more authentic casino experience to those in the seven states that currently allow it.
BetMGM, in conjunction with the Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, has taken that one step further, featuring not only a live dealer but several cameras around a table with actual customers playing along as well. Evolution Gaming, partnered with both BetMGM and the Borgata, is the technology wizard behind the new breed of gaming.
Oliver Bartlett, BetMGM’s VP of Gaming and Product Content, said in a statement:
“Dual Play Baccarat is one of the best ways to bring the excitement of live table games to our online casino players. (…) Similar to the familiar slot titles like Buffalo and Wheel of Fortune at BetMGM, we look for ways to build connections to on-property play and games that resonate with players.”
More Dual Games to Come?
This is not the first time BetMGM and the Borgata have paired up in synergizing digital and casino floor customers on the same game, replete with a live dealer. Dual Play Roulette was rolled out in August 2023 and has been a staple of BetMGM’s iGaming platform.
This newest step into the realm of baccarat may signal that more dual games will be rolled out by the pair of casino industry titans. James Bruno, Borgata’s VP of Casino Operations, said:
“Borgata has long been a leader in gaming innovation, and the launch of Dual Play Baccarat further elevates that reputation. (…) This dynamic addition bridges the energy of our casino floor with the convenience of online play, offering players an immersive and seamless way to engage with one of their favorite games.”
Bridging the Gap
Although BetMGM is one of the major players in the digital gaming world while the Borgata is generally acknowledged as the plushest and most popular Atlantic City hotel and casino, the bridge between the digital and retail experience is bridged by Evolution Gaming.
Jacob Claesson, Evolution North America CEO, referenced the company’s involvement with the roulette offering that launched in 2023. He said in a statement:
“Evolution Dual Play Baccarat is an innovative product that brings together land-based players and an unlimited number of online players at the same casino table.
“This game is the first of its kind in the United States, and we’re very excited for BetMGM to be leading the way with this type of omnichannel initiative. Dual Play Baccarat follows the launch of Dual Play Roulette that opened in 2023 at Borgata, which quickly became a very popular way to play roulette.”
