Malta-based Octoplay is a new entry into the fiercely competitive world of online gaming software providers, and it recently received a provisional license in Michigan to begin offering its games to online casinos licensed in the state.
Expanding Into the US
Founded in October 2022, Octoplay’s content can already be found overseas in markets such as the United Kingdom, Sweden, Malta, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, Denmark, and to our north in Ontario. But the new arrival has just received a provisional license to begin offering its online gaming content to operators in Michigan, its first U.S. market.
“Obtaining the Michigan provisional license marks the beginning of our entry into the United States, a key market for our future growth,” commented Octoplay chairman Gavin Hamilton in a press release. “We look forward to bringing our premium products and games to American players, starting in Michigan.”
The company has found success outside of the United States with mobile gaming providers PokerStars, Kindred, Betfair, and Paddy Power, to name some of the more popular brands abroad.
“While we’ve seen great success in European markets recently, our entry into the US represents a new chapter for Octoplay,” Hamilton added. “We’re committed to establishing a strong presence in the American iGaming landscape, leveraging our experience in regulated markets to deliver exceptional gaming experiences to US players and operators.”
Now that Octoplay has been granted a license in Michigan, it must now find a platform to offer its content to the masses. It is unlikely it will have to wait long as there are 16 online gaming sites in the Wolverine State and all are eager to bolster the quality and quantity of their virtual slot titles.
Octoplay Titles
After only two years in business, the Malta-based gaming content provider has been busy creating its 77 slot titles, with its crown jewel being 3 Golden Baskets: Treasure Tides. It features a 6×5 layout with an aquatic beach theme, and the user can win up to 3,500 times their original bet.

Octoplay also announced a strategic partnership with Niké, Slovakia’s first betting company founded in 1991, before entering the Slovakian market in September.
