Penn Entertainment recently announced the launch of its Hollywood Casino app in Pennsylvania as the newest addition to the Keystone State’s robust iGaming market.
Penn Goes Hollywood
Late last week, Penn Entertainment, owner of mobile sports betting platform ESPN BET, announced the launch of its stand-alone Hollywood Casino iGaming app in its home state of Pennsylvania. The company has four of its Hollywood retail casinos in the Keystone State, including Hollywood Casino Morgantown, Hollywood Casino at Hollywood Casino York, Hollywood Casino at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in North Strabane Township, and Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Pennsylvania.
“We’re excited to launch Hollywood Casino as a stand-alone app in Pennsylvania, giving our customers access to their favorite games in a dedicated, casino-first experience,” said Aaron LaBerge, Chief Technology Officer at PENN Entertainment.
“With four Hollywood Casino properties in the state, the app leverages our trusted retail brand and creates a seamless connection between our online and retail gaming experiences. We look forward to bringing this enhanced Hollywood Casino experience to more iCasino markets in early 2025, pending regulatory approvals,” LaBerge added.
Penn’s new iGaming app features over 700 games, including titles from PENN Game Studios and slot titles from its Hollywood Casino retail locations now available in the digital realm. There will also be a virtual lobby where guests can peruse the titles and select the one they want to play. There are also live dealer table games for those who prefer a hand of blackjack.
The Hollywood casino app is available on Android or iOS and can be accessed through the ESPN BET app. Penn Entertainment has plans to launch the Hollywood Casino app in other iGaming markets in 2025.
Responsible Gambling
Like other major online gaming platforms, Penn Entertainment has invested in responsible gambling practices and adheres to the American Gaming Association’s code of conduct for responsible gaming.
Penn Entertainment has adopted a “exclude one, exclude all” policy in which any guest that has self-excluded themselves from either a company online or retail gaming facility is automatically excluded from gambling at any Penn property or virtual betting platform.
The American Gaming Association’s Code of Conduct policies require its members, like Penn Entertainment, to abide by the following rules:
- Promote Responsible Gaming – Toll-free phone numbers and websites that provide gambling help must be posted in retail facilities and on virtual betting websites. Each AGA member must have a policy where customers can request in writing to be exempt from the following:
– Casino-issued markers
– Player club/card privileges
– On-site check-cashing
– Comps
– Gambling promotions
- Prevent Underage Gambling and Unattended Minors in Casinos
- Serve Alcoholic Beverages Responsibly
– Casinos will not knowingly serve alcoholic beverages to a minor.
– Casinos will not knowingly serve alcoholic beverages to a visibly intoxicated patron.
– Casinos will make a diligent effort not to permit casino gambling by a visibly intoxicated patron.
- Advertise Responsibly – Casino gambling including sports betting advertising and marketing will:
– Contain a responsible gaming message and/or a toll-free helpline number where practical.
– Reflect generally accepted contemporary standards of good taste.
– Strictly comply with all state and federal standards to make no false or misleading claims or create a suggestion that the probabilities of winning or losing at the various games offered by the casino, or by betting on sports contests, are different than those actually experienced.
